When did your baby walk?

DS turned one end of December. He just started pulling to stand and does it all the time

i stand him up but he won’t stand independelty

im worried as I feel he’s so far off walking how can I help him?

is this abnormal is something wrong?

My friend is a health visitor and said as he was a bit chunky (24lb at 10 months lol - but taller than 99% of babies that age haha) it can take longer for him to get leg strength and it seems so because he barely straightened his legs until 7-8 months

is this normal I’m worried he’s not close to walking

My son will be 17 months next week, he finally took his first steps 2 days ago!! My brother in laws son is 2 weeks younger than mine and he was walking before he turned 11 months. Every child is different and will hit their milestones whenever they feel ready so please don't worry. Taller & chunkier babies tend to take longer to learn how to stand/walk independently (hence why my little man has just learned how to walk)

ha ha! I didn't have them all at once- had them in 8 years. Tbh there is no difference between crawling and walking- once they are moving they are moving. Mine were so frustrated to get moving that it was a relief because then they stopped griping. My youngest broke his arm at 9 months and started walking with a plaster cast on about a week later. He was all lopsided with the weight of it.

and they try to do what the older ones are doing. I'm not surprised all of yours walked fairly early. Mine started at 9.5months and is also a climber. Keeps me running! 😅

DD at 14 months ( but she'd only started crawling at around a year old) and Ds at 12-13 months (started crawling around 10 months I think). Walking while holding on to a finger or hand was earlier but I don't remember when. Both of them once they were able to walk independently pretty much stopped crawling if I remember right.

15 months, corrected to 13/14 to account for prematurity

DS walked at 16 months.
I was worried at the time but looking back at it now I really didn't need to!!
It's horrible when you know people who's kids walked earlier and they're secretly a bit smug about it but annoyingly that's people for you!
