When did your baby start to crawl?

Mine still only pushes herself backwards 😁 but that's okay I'll just wait and baby proof the house in the mean time and enjoy that she will stay roughly where I put her

About 8 months. Walked at 10 months and running at 11 months. Terrified nursery!

WalkingOnSonshine · 07/12/2022 20:40

5 months crawling, 9 months walking.

We barely had any of that lovely stage where they are content to be put down while you make a cuppa, & are still in the same place when you come back!

TinnedTom · 07/12/2022 20:41

Cant remember but definitely over a year. He bum shuffled from 8/9 months. And is all of a sudden good at walking at 17 months.

My daughter crawled really early at 6 months but like other mentioned milestones mean nothing because she didn’t walk until16 months! They do things in their own time.

BertieBotts · 07/12/2022 20:42

About 9-10 months I think.

They do vary a lot and there is a huge range in what is normal. People think all babies take their first steps and first word by their first birthday, but the usual for both is somewhere between 10-18 months.

Please don't google. Enjoy this time!

6 months and it coincided with the flat being turned upside down for a kitchen and bathroom renovation (council so no choice on timing). It was stressful.

I didn't have that stage at all. It was actually a relief when he learnt to crawl as I could put him down and walk away without him screaming.

BertieBotts · 07/12/2022 20:51

Yeah I remember DS1 crawled first (8m) sat second (9m) so that was a nightmare because he was a frustrated ball from 4-9 months not able to sit with a toy.

The other two sitting at 5/6 months was a revelation!

YorkshireTeaCup · 07/12/2022 20:53

Crawled around 11months with a month or so of army crawling before then. Still not walking independently 18months, the lazy bones! 🙄🤣

FlamingoBabe · 07/12/2022 20:59

7 months and is almost walking at just turned 10 months 🥴

yentirb · 07/12/2022 21:02

Never! Bum shuffle them walking at 11 months

bibbiddybobbidyboo · 07/12/2022 21:22

6 months and pulling themself up at 6 months.

bibbiddybobbidyboo · 07/12/2022 21:24

6 months and pulling themself up on furniture too

DramaAlpaca · 07/12/2022 21:28

All three of mine crawled at 8 months.

They walked at 10, 11 and 12 months.

PumpkinLumpkin · 07/12/2022 21:29

5 months, for my sins. Fast too. Get the place baby proofed ahead of time. They like to surprise you and do things when you least expect it.

I feel like I'm permanently playing catch up with mine.

annlee3817 · 07/12/2022 21:50

Commando crawled at 6 months and didn't do a full crawl until 8 months

bigshoutingday · 07/12/2022 21:54

First at 7.5 months and thought she was a genius crawling so early. Second came along and did it at 6 months. Pain in the arse the pair of them. Would have much preferred one you could plonk down and expect to still be in the same place 10 mins later.

MINTYTULIP · 08/12/2022 10:36

DD NEVER crawled. She went straight to walking. Some just do?

NatMoz · 08/12/2022 10:50

7 months and then walking at 9 months. Absolute misery.

LT2 · 08/12/2022 10:52

He had been doing backwards crawling for a while and getting very frustrated. On Halloween he managed to start crawling properly at 9 months!

alark · 08/12/2022 10:56

About 8.5 months he army crawled and properly crawled about 9.5 months, then walked at 11 months.

thaegumathteth · 08/12/2022 10:58

Ds army crawled at 6 months and properly crawled at 8. Walked at 10.

Dd didn't move at all until 10 months when she bum shuffled for a week then got up and walked. She couldn't crawl (eg through a tunnel at soft play etc) until she was well over 1.

FHmama · 08/12/2022 11:05

A couple of days before he turned 6 months

elQuintoConyo · 08/12/2022 11:06

Very, very similar to stuntbubble colic until 5 months when he started to crawl. Pulled himself up at 6mo, walking at 8 months 3 weeks 😵 he really hates being a helpless baby, and by moving could also clear the colic. Happier to sit in the car, too.

He's 11 years old now, hasn't stopped running!
