When did your baby start to crawl?

Mine still only pushes herself backwards 😁 but that's okay I'll just wait and baby proof the house in the mean time and enjoy that she will stay roughly where I put her

Both of mine didn't move until 11 months. It was great lol

MrNook · 07/12/2022 19:26

About 10 months I think

purpleme12 · 07/12/2022 19:28

11 months but it was bum shuffling

The eldest at 7 months. My youngest pretty much on her first birthday
The youngest was scooting around and using her sister’s heelys by 20 months though. Milestones mean nothing!

Garman · 07/12/2022 19:30

Mine all walked first, then crawled around 11-13 months.

CoalCraft · 07/12/2022 19:32

I think about 11 months or 9 months corrected.

Exactfare · 07/12/2022 19:33

1st 6 months,
2nd 8 months
3rd 10 months

And all walked roughly 4 months later

Scottishgirl85 · 07/12/2022 19:34

Mine crawled or bum-shuffled at 18 months. Walked at 2. They're the smartest kids I know. It literally means nothing. Bonus was we didn't need to baby proof at all - they talked and understood instructions so early that they knew what wasn't allowed!

RhubarbFairy · 07/12/2022 19:41

DS1: Crawling forwards at 9 months, walking at 11 months. He went 1 step, 3 steps, 8 steps, running... and is now 11 and is yet to stop running. He was also a backwards crawler initially. He used to get wedged under his highchair.

DS2: sort of commando drag across the floor from 4 months. But very slowly and usually because he was after whatever toy his brother had discarded.
He did that for months and eventually crawled on his knees at around 8 months. However, he couldn't sit up unaided until about 10 months as every time I tried, he'd lay himself down. Walked around 14 months.

So very different.

Helena1993 · 07/12/2022 19:43

Wow kids really are extremely different. More reason to not Google milestones and just wait and see

Mine never really crawled. Was walking by 8 months though. Nightmare, climbed over cot and stair gate when tiny. Couldn’t contain Houdini anywhere.

stuntbubbles · 07/12/2022 19:46

5 months, the absolute dickhead. She’d only just emerged from the colic era too. Think I had a week of sitting around enjoying having a baby.

GagaBinks · 07/12/2022 19:55

Late one here! 13 months. He was late to do everything 😀

CTR1000 · 07/12/2022 19:59

11 months! I wasn’t jealous of the Mums who had earlier movers 😂

Whisper92 · 07/12/2022 20:06

8 months

SabbatWheel · 07/12/2022 20:07

Mine never did. She bum shuffled from about 9 months then turned round, pulled herself up and finally walked at 13 months.

Blendandmix · 07/12/2022 20:10

6 months 🥴🥴🥴

My brother never crawled - just bum shuffled - and he was 18 months when he started walking. He has grown up to be genius-level smart and very successful. That has always made me feel better about my very chilled out little one!!

Namora · 07/12/2022 20:16

DS went from being basically a slug, sleeping all the time and never showing any interest in moving, to being a human crawling rocket, basically overnight at 6 months old. I already had a whirlwind toddler, I could have cried. I was hoping he'd stay immobile until about 11 months 😀

TheTeddyBears · 07/12/2022 20:18

My first born was quite late to crawling I didn't think she was going to. She was happy to bum shuffle for a while. It was about 10-11months before she was crawling. Didn't walk until 15 months despite taking first steps at 12 months.

Second was crawling about 8 months and walking at 11 months.

Be glad if it's later than sooner that's when they suddenly become a danger to themselves!

Athenen0ctua · 07/12/2022 20:19

5 months up the stairs at 6 months, before he learnt to sit. However, he didn't walk until 11 months, waited until he was sure, no toddling!

Tiredallofthetime · 07/12/2022 20:22

Eight months - have a video of him crawling to me that melts my heart ♥️

myrtleWilson · 07/12/2022 20:34

5 months crawling here (she was a liability in nursery). She was a stubborn baby - she started rolling over at 6 weeks after spending an entire day trying to do it. Mind that stubbornness has bitten us on the bum since - developing an eating disorder when you have a core of stubborn steel is a problematic combo (she's in recovery now thankfully!!)

Pamparam · 07/12/2022 20:38

Crawled at 11.5 months, walked a couple of weeks later a day or two after her first birthday. Sat up from 5 months and could pull up and cruise but just wasn't bothered about moving by herself. Loved putting her down and knowing she would stay put!

Second looking much more likely to crawl somewhere between 7-8 months.
