@xTinkerbell aww what a Cutie... same with your son. Not to mention the dog.. How lovely. Are you still breastfeeding?

OP posts:
xTinkerbell · 05/06/2022 23:07

@jadey1991 thank you! Josiah is absolutely gorgeous too!

yeah still breastfeeding, she has one bottle of formula a day because I wanted to make sure she’d take a bottle so I went with that. Used to express but I got so fed up of it switched to formula but other than that still breastfeeding.

jadey1991 · 05/06/2022 23:09

@xTinkerbell aww thanks hun.
I'm still trying the bottles with Josiah atm it's so hard because he won't take to it. I'm still currently breastfeeding and he is also on solids. I'm hoping within the next couple months he will take bottles. How old is aria now?

@jadey1991 that’s how Aria was in the beginning. She would scream but then one day we just turned a corner out of nowhere and she started taking them brilliantly. What bottles are you using?

She’ll be 6 months on the 21st

jadey1991 · 06/06/2022 00:16

@xTinkerbell I'm using the tommee tippee ones. I also tried the nipple shaped teats too

OP posts:
burtle4 · 06/06/2022 07:50

@jadey1991 did you try the lansinoh bottles? We switched to them after trying Avent and he took to them straight away. I'm currently doing a combination of breast, formula and solids, feels like I'm constantly thinking about feeding him 😂 trying to wean him off the breast during the day as much as possible so that it becomes easier to leave him, I had my first day of work last weekend and had to leave him from 9.30 - 4.30pm! I was so worried but he was brilliant ❤

jadey1991 · 06/06/2022 11:43

@burtle4 oh no I haven't tried those ones yet. Maybe I should try them.. aww how lovely. I bet you was so worried.. how was he without breast wise?

OP posts:
burtle4 · 06/06/2022 11:51

Luckily my sister-in-law was looking after him and she only lives down the road from where I was working so she brought him up to me at lunchtime and he fed then. Otherwise he just ate food and had a bit from the bottle x

lovebeingmum9 · 07/06/2022 07:48

Thanks @jadey1991 I used the hack or ironing on plastic bunting for our boys Union flag tops.....they are all really close which is lovely and how I hoped despite all their bickering 😅 How's josiah getting on with teething? Funny what a difference a couple of days make as Oscars teeth are through more now and visible......he seems to be chomping down on the bottle teet and drinking a bit less than usual but I've given teething gel and calpol to help soothe. How did bingo go.....hope you had fun! And bet your kids are happy having you home,is that long term now or you on the lookout for another job? I've always been a stay at home mum and will wait until youngest goes to school so I can get a job around school hours.
@burtle4 hiya and thankyou 😊 Aw lovely.....all of ours were christened before 6 months old except our 4th who was 1 because of covid restrictions. Things change so quick as oscar was the same dribbling and teething for months but suddenly overnight had 2 teeth! lol Dexter sounds like he's going to be on the move soon,he will be a master roller in no time and because he's lifter his bum and legs the crawling will probably come easily! How did your 1st day back to work go?
@xTinkerbellit's a great playmat the tune is catchy lol aww adorable pics! Aria and her big brother look like they are best of friends and going to get upto lots of mischief together!

We went to a theme park for our sons birthday on Sunday and was our first big outing as a family of 7.....it couldn't have gone better we had a lovely time! We are having an overnight stay in August this year and then off on holiday for a week in Turkey next year so getting in the swing of it lol 😅

burtle4 · 07/06/2022 10:55

@lovebeingmum9 it was great thanks! We recently bought a catering trailer and it was the first time I have been able to work in it so it was really nice to finally get involved! I'm hoping to be able to do a few more events in the coming months but I'm lucky that it's not a full time job and that I can pick and choose when I work on it. I also do part-time book keeping but my maternity for that doesn't stop until August x

jadey1991 · 07/06/2022 11:26

@lovebeingmum9 hey hun, Josiah is still teething. His bottom teeth are out a lot more now. He bit down on my nipple the other day and made me screen in pain. 🫣🫣
As for the job, I think I'll wait now till Josiah is at school. Will go back to work then. I'll go back to the hospital setting tho. That's what I like to do more. Bingo was so much fun although I didn't win anything but it was a lovely night out. My cousin in law won £30 so she was happy.
Josiah has now developed a cough so his sleeping pattern is so messed up now. How's everyone else?

OP posts:
lovebeingmum9 · 07/06/2022 14:35

@burtle4 ah wow well done, lovely how you own the catering trailer and can pick and choose hours that suit you. Do you enjoy it? 😊
@jadey1991 Ouch 🙈 no wonder your feeding him more food lol aw bless him hope his cough goes quickly and he gets back into a good sleep pattern.....Oscar is like clockwork! Bottle around 12am,3am and then around 7am then carries on 3 hourly! I tried hungrier baby formula thinking that would fill him up but nope, still almost every 3 hours!!! im so tired out lol he's dropped from having 180ml (6 ounces) down to 90ml (3ounces) since started weaning porridge at 9am and a dinner at around 4:30pm ish I'm not too worried as he's a good size and because it's 3 hourly he's making it up with more feeds but less amount. He keeps rolling and attempting to crawl/slither off the playmat! the other night he kept rolling on his tummy while sleeping which was a bit worrying....I turned him back and he rolled again so he ended up sleeping on his side! mad to think we're all approaching half a year mark!!! Oscar will be 6months on 18th of this month its just gone so quick!

jadey1991 · 07/06/2022 20:37

@lovebeingmum9 yes exactly hun. But at the moment he is slightly clingy because he isn't well. Aww Oscar is g getting big isn't he. Josiah will be 25 weeks tomorrow. I can't believe how big he has got.

Decadesbcun · 08/06/2022 22:49

Hi everyone, hope everyone is well. All the babes are adorable and growing so much!

Seth has started to sit up on his own now (with me sat behind to catch him lol) and he has cut his 2 bottom teeth. Still not rolling from back to front but always going from front to back if I put him on his tummy. He just seems to want to be held in a standing position at the minute and bounce up and down, not sure he will crawl, I think he’ll just walk when he’s older.

Do you any of you follow the wonder weeks and leaps? How accurate have you found them if you do?

Our lovely babies
jadey1991 · 09/06/2022 07:42

@Decadesbcun aww Seth looks adorable playing. Bless him. Josiah isn't rolling much either but prefers to stand just like Seth. Josiah just rolls from back to his side.
I've never heard of the leaps and weeks. What is that?

OP posts:
burtle4 · 09/06/2022 08:12

@Decadesbcun I follow them and find that they are really accurate! Dexter's always a week ahead of when they say the leap will start but I know exactly when he's going to enter a fussy phase and it's always spot on! He'll be 26 weeks this Saturday and just leaving leap 5 which was a long one but I can already see how much happier and calmer he is compared to how he has been over the last few weeks. He's also come out of it with all the skills it says he will have mastered. Some people don't believe in them but for me they're too accurate to not!

jadey1991 · 12/06/2022 00:28

Hello lovely ladies and babies. I hope your all doing well.

Just updating you all on us over here. I'm doing well. Josiah is doing ok. He has been ill for the past week with bronchitis. I had to take him hospital a couple times because his breathing was horrible. He is getting a little better now.
Josiah is also saying 'dada' he will be 61/2 months on Wednesday.. how time flies.

Hope you are all doing well and babies are too 🥰🥰

OP posts:
burtle4 · 12/06/2022 06:14

Hey @jadey1991 So sorry to hear that, that must have been really scary. Glad to hear he is on the mend though, it's horrible when they're ill 😞 So exciting that he's saying dada already, we still haven't got any sounds other than the usual babbling yet but he's so close to rolling now and can sit up completely unsupported. Just loving watching him change and develop every day, he had his 6 month birthday yesterday 💙 (thought he was born before Josiah though but may have got that wrong?!) Can't believe how quickly that's gone, same amount of time again and he'll have his real birthday!!

jadey1991 · 12/06/2022 12:44

@burtle4 thanks hun... Josiah is 25 weeks now.. aww tell me about it Its so exciting.
Your little one is doing loads now. Josiah isn't rolling over yet

Hi everyone 😊so sorry to hear josiah isn't wellb@jadey1991 have they given him some sort of antibiotics to help him?
Leola was 6 months on the third of this month, we had her 6 month health visitor check up and she was impressed with how Leolas getting on. She sits up by herself and also stands while holding onto something to play. Although this scares me because she still seems too little to be standing by herself lol. Health visitor said to leave the pureed food and to give her proper meals with us. She has already been eating bits like mashed potatoes, and she loves fish and beans 😄
Hope everyone and their babies are doing well and enjoying the sunshine 🌞
Here's some recent photos from us.

Also health visitor wasnt concerned that Leola wasn't completely rolling over. She said not all babies roll. I think this is down to her reflux when she was younger. Because she was sick alot I didn't put her on her front as much as I would have. But its down to each baby and what they want to do. It's no problem if they dont roll she said incase some babies aren't quite rolling over yet 😊 she asked if she rolls on her side and reaches for this and she said that's fine. Same as some babies don't crawl they go straight to walking.

jadey1991 · 13/06/2022 10:23

@Curlymam88 omg no way... I can't believe she is standing holding things. Is she crawling? Leola looks so beautiful.... bless her. She is gonna start eating big food now lol..

Josiah is feeling a lot better now. Still has his cough. No they didn't give him antibiotics. They said it will get better on its own. So I took it upon my self to do at mine remedies like snuffle babe, humidifier and olbas oil.

@Curlymam88 oh that good news about the rolling because Josiah doesn't roll either. He will roll onto his side but that's all

OP posts:
Curlymam88 · 13/06/2022 12:05

Bo she doesn't crawl as such. She goes on all fours from her sitting up position. She leans forward and kicks her legs out behind her. She goes up on her knees and tries pushing off but then she gets agitated. She's not a fan of being on her front.
Ah poor boy, I'm glad he's getting better though and we'll done for all the home remedies. He looks so happy there. His cheeky smile fills his whole face. So beautiful.
Yea don't worry about it she said. Aslong as they can hold their heads up in the crawling position she said that's fine. I wasn't too worried about it anyway. All babies just get on with things in their own time. Lovely seeing them all grow and getting on well 😀
