If you celebrate mother's day, what would you like?

DH to make breakfast for me in bed and make sure the children leave me alone for an hour so I can sit in bed, read a book and eat breakfast!

My DC is almost 2 and the dream would be a full night’s sleep. In reality, DH and I have agreed for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day just a card and a small token - chocolate/flowers/something homemade when DC is old enough for this.

A lie in, and dinner cooked - that isn't an oven pizza.

Agree with those saying a rest. I find Mother’s Day really difficult with the expectation that DH and I have to go see both our mums. I’m a mum too, to 4 dc, and god I’d love to just have the day to ourselves. Feel awful that I feel that way though

Not really bothered. Just me and the kids this year as dh will be out of the country. He bought me a huge mug (perfect for my morning coffee), chocolates, cards and flowers that are now dead before he went.

My kids to remember

A rest.
A guilt free lie in, meaning DH is not allowed to tell me afterwards how terribly stressful it was getting DS dressed, breakfasted and out of the door.
Some nice bubble bath and a lovely cuddle with DS.

A lovely card with nice words written rather than printed inside.
A lovely cup of tea and a slice of cake.
Maybe some flowers

What I want, I can't have, as I'll be working 6am-6pm. Î would love to go to the seaside for the day and have fish n chips on the promenade. Ain't going to happen.
I've asked for a new key ring for my car key as my old one has broken and ds2 is buying me a new plant from pta mothers day gift sales.

I usually receive the following, which is also exactly what I want-

• handmade cards from DCs (DD's tends to be very arty, DS's is a piece of paper folded in two on which he usually writes a rap, pmsl)
• flowers from DH
• pub lunch

Some new Bluetooth earbuds as I broke mine

A nice family walk somewhere

Not having to cook or plan meals for the day.

To get a full night of sleep and not be woken at 7am

A night ALONE in a hotel with a massive comfy bed, spa, and decent room service.

To be left the fuck alone in a clean house.

I will be treating my 89 year old mum to a home cooked meal, she will stay with DH and I overnight and I count my blessings that I still have my lovely mum who is in such good health. .

Hopefully my own DS will remember to send a card .... he is living miles away at the moment so unrealistic to except to see him.

DS1 (19) to remember to ring me (from uni) and DS2 (17) to have a nice breakfast with me in the morning before he goes to college

DH and I will then be going on a long walk on Dartmoor, culminating with a carvery dinner somewhere (haven't booked it yet) and if I'm really lucky, I'll see DS2 again in the evening before he buggers off out

A holiday! Alone! Just a day would be fine. A day in a hotel bed alone 🤤
