Sleep. Not even lots, just maybe more than an hour at a time. I’d love to go for a walk and out for lunch with the family, and then disappear for a nap and some sort of massage.

Instead it will probably be a walk around a NT house and a coffee, with the MIL too. I don’t mind that to be fair, but I can dream!

confusedbeyond · 18/03/2022 20:14

I told my lot I don't want gifts or cards, I just want to walk in from work to a clean house and dinner on the table.

ProperVexed · 18/03/2022 20:16

Acknowledging that I exist.
Some one else to think about then cook dinner.
I don't cook on my birthday and Mothering Sunday. This invariably means that I have a slice of toast for dinner.
I hate Mothering Sunday with a passion.

Good weather :) The warmer the better!

extractorfactor · 18/03/2022 20:21

A day without the DC squabbling. Just one day of harmony, that really is my deepest wish!

AHungryCaterpillar · 18/03/2022 20:24

Won’t be getting anything as I’m a single mum but an air fryer would be nice

ClemDanFango · 18/03/2022 20:26

Nothing because it’s a load of shit.

RainbowMum11 · 18/03/2022 20:27

A card.
A couple of years ago, DD made me breakfast in bed - she was only 6 and needed me to help (single Mum) but I really appreciated her thoughts xxx

Gooseysgirl · 18/03/2022 20:31

Sleep

Maggiesgirl · 18/03/2022 20:51

Just a card - but then I'm a grandmother now do my DS has a wife to honour on Mothers Day.

DS & DDIL usually send flowers or lovely artisan soap though as they know I like both.

MrsSkylerWhite · 18/03/2022 20:53

Nothing. Honestly, not trying to be cool.

Maggiesgirl · 18/03/2022 20:53

Years ago when I was a single mum DS made me breakfast in bed. Coffee made from the hot water tap and ready brek made the same way. He brought sll the things up individually as he couldn't carry a try. Including three dandelions in a glass. He was 7. Best mothers day ever.

germsandcoffee · 18/03/2022 20:57

A sleep in 😂

HouseofHolbein · 18/03/2022 20:57

Sleep. Instead I have a 5am start on the day the clocks change. So the equivalent of a 4am start. Deep joy.

tiggergoesbounce · 18/03/2022 21:08

A big cuddle from our DS and my DH, nice sweet something for brekkie in bed, then to be left in bed, alone, to watch rubbish TV !!

Anniecott · 18/03/2022 21:38

My mum and my mil, my mum is in care home with dementia and unfortunately I can't visit anymore as seeing me was making her too agitated so I made the hard decision to leave her be, she has no idea who I am anymore and my mil passed away 5 yrs ago. I would love 1 more Mother's Day with both of them. X

FusionChefGeoff · 18/03/2022 21:48

A patio rose bush

blockbustervideo · 18/03/2022 22:10

A break!!

MrsGHarrison87 · 18/03/2022 22:12

Not really bothered as long as the thought is there.

MollieSheep1 · 18/03/2022 22:16

Just one night of 8 hours unbroken sleep, with no kids/babies in my bed. It's been nearly 5 years!

Also a lie in and my morning coffee undisturbed. It doesn't sounds like much but my god it would be amazing.

Autumn42 · 18/03/2022 22:17

Just a rest, not having to think about what to cook for dinner, entertaining the kids etc, cuddles, cards and gifts from kids for a few minutes in the morning too and maybe a nice walk in the sunshine or visit to see our respective mothers in the afternoon, perfect day!

JustBkind · 18/03/2022 22:17

I would like a nice meal out just me, hubby and the children (no in-laws or other family etc, just us). And not on Mothers Day weekend when the prices are hiked. I’m happy to wait a few weeks!! ☺️

Xtraincome · 18/03/2022 22:19

A lie-in, I choose menu for the day. A token gift with handmade cards, my movie choice.
We aren't too into mothers/fathers day but just use the excuse for one of us to hog the telly/bed/food choices all day- something we could do anyway for each other but it's a good excuse.
Don't overthink it. Just keep it relaxing.

Kite22 · 18/03/2022 22:31

When dc1 was that age, a lie in, and for dh to cook that day.

Nelliephant1 · 18/03/2022 22:48

It's a privilege to be a mum, no thanks needed - ever!
