Our DD is 2 so it will be from my dp really Grin

If you celebrate mother's day, what would you like? Smile

I’m 54 kids are 31,27,13.
I’ve asked for gift card for an afternoon tea for two (so I can take a friend).
On Mother’s Day Dh will cook a roast and my adult boys will come over.

Skelligsfeathers · 19/03/2022 08:15

For my two sons to come home and spend the day with me. They have both said they will so I am happy!

Thoughtsarrivelikebutterflies5 · 19/03/2022 08:17

A cup of tea in bed.
Also, I love reading so DH will probably get me some books he knows I've been wanting (DC's are too young to get anything themselves)

A peach tree. Also for the DC to being me breakfast in bed, as they love preparing it and bringing it in ( but for DH to guide enough to make sure it is actually edible),

pictish · 19/03/2022 08:18

I want him to ignore his actual mother and spend the day pandering to me. I mean he can buy her a cheap bunch of flowers or spend 5 minutes on a quick phone call if he must but other than that, I want him to make it all about ME even though I’m not his mum. I am definitely NBU.

Frenchie8690 · 19/03/2022 08:22

Whatever tatty thing she proudly brings home from nursery to give me #toocute

Donra · 19/03/2022 08:22

Mothers Day is always ruined for me because DH goes off to see his own mother so I’m left looking after our DC. Or even worse, his mother comes to our house and then I have to put up with her. I would just like a day where I’m given flowers and taken out for afternoon tea and don’t have to see his mother at all.

BigSandyBalls2015 · 19/03/2022 08:26

A FaceTime from DD at uni and hopefully a card! A small bunch of flowers from the DD still at home. Then a takeaway at the in laws. DH can drive and I can have a few 🥂

MrsSugar · 19/03/2022 08:28

My dream would be my house to be cleaned throughly top to bottom for me. Then just spend the day with my DH and DS maybe go for food and get nice cards

Vampirethriller · 19/03/2022 08:37

In a perfect world, to have a whole nights sleep in a bed with nobody else in it, and not have to get up until at least ten.
In the real world, my brothers send me flowers and chocolates "from" my daughter!

Thistooshallpsss · 19/03/2022 08:55

Ooh going against the grain here! My mum banned Mother’s Day as people should be thanked any day she saw it as a feminist stance I think. When I grew up I did the same. My now very adult children tell me that their friends think we have fallen out (or I am very weird!) but I think they appreciate not having to remember to buy some commercial card. I really don’t miss it.

NeedAHoliday2021 · 19/03/2022 08:57

Lie in and coffee in bed
Food sorted all day
Small gift
Family dog walk with a stop for a drink in the pub

Dc to have planned the day with dh so it feels like a little effort has gone into it.
@aquietlifeplease I'm so sorry to read your post. Your husband sounds horrible. You deserve kindness. We all do.
Thank you, yes a little kindness would go a long way. I hope you and everyone else on this thread find the kindness and peace they deserve.

Aspergirl77 · 19/03/2022 15:05

A rest, nicely behaved DCs (no squabbling!!) and dinner cooked/clearing up done Smile

spagbog5 · 19/03/2022 15:15

I've asked our dd's to cook a course each for lunch for us all and clear away afterwards.

Dd3 (16) wants to get me a present too so she's taking me out for coffee and cake together which is just per Smile

They asked what I wanted and I said lunch together so they are doing this and the adult two are home for the weekend.

Tipsylizard · 19/03/2022 21:59

A lie in and a professional * massage to reduce the shoulder knots caused by my beloved offspring. I am also a sucker for a hand-made card

*not a substandard massage (but really hoping for a shag) offered by DH Grin

For DH to take DD to the park for a couple of hours so I get some peace and quiet and she comes back tired 😀 Then a carvery lunch so I can eat all the roast potatoes smothered in gravy without having to cook anything.

TokyoSushi · 22/03/2022 11:12

Some nice moisturiser, a chocolate orange and a day out to the seaside with DH, DC & Dog

iamsoreadyforbednow · 22/03/2022 11:14

I’m due our second baby on Saturday. If he could shift his arse out of my birth canal in time for Sunday so I can have a massive Gin that will be the best Mother’s Day ever.

JellyBabiesSaveLives · 22/03/2022 11:18

I’ve told my teenagers that I want a cup of tea every hour and they should co-ordinate this between them Smile and that the tv will be showing Bridgerton so they might want to steer clear

Lindy2 · 22/03/2022 11:19

A lie in (although as my kids are older now I actually do usually get a Sunday lie in Smile)

A bunch of flowers and DH to cook dinner. Last year he got one of the M&S Mother's Day meal deals and it was lovely. He's not the world's best in the kitchen so M&S was a pretty fail safe option for him and it worked out well.

As the weather is supposed to be nice we'll probably all go out for a relaxed walk.

We don't make a huge fuss about Mother's Day or Father's Day but do like to mark the occasion.

gingerhills · 22/03/2022 11:21

I've always wanted tea in bed, but given I wake up between 5-6am and everyone else wakes up between 8-11am, there's never been a chance of that happening. Ever.

So I'd like both my adult sons to be home for Sunday lunch. That's my dream. Some flowers would be lovely but mainly their presence. I love them so much and just want to hug them. (Both off at uni. One home, one planning on staying put over Easter so fingers crossed he surprises me.)

HappyToSmile · 22/03/2022 11:22

A card and no one (ie my 15 year old) expecting me to be running around after her!

RisingMoon · 22/03/2022 11:26

A Bentley Continental GT Mulline, chilled champagne, wide open roads, and some good music.
