I would say ones that pass their experiences from childhood onto their children.

@Moonface123

Expecting little boys to sit quiet, just like the girls, and judging them when they don' t, boys have tons more energy.
Believing in stuff like this. Longterm harmful for girls and women when it comes to health and fitness in teens and twenties, then even further into employment and leadership. Both boys and girls internalise the message about “energy” and expected behaviour, and it shapes what they think they can access in the world.

This awful thread just proves that as a parent you can't do anything right, you'll always be doing something wrong in someones eyes.

@DickMabutt73962

I've just seen another thread where the OP is feeling overwhelmed with all the extra curricular activists here 3 kids do. 3 do 3 a week and one does 2. Cue lots of posters saying 'that's not that much' 😂 exactly what I said above
I found that thread terrifying! When I asked when parents were meant to have time for themselves I was told "when the kids go to uni" Shock

Interested in this thread?

@MrsSkylerWhite

Proponents of “sharing”

Ie: your gentle child has to give the toy they’re playing with already to my little thug.

Oh goodness, yes.

Competitive martyrdom.

Another unsavoury trend.

@KiwiDramaQueen me too!! I have 3 DC and live in the back end of beyond with a DH that works away.

That schedule looked horrific for everyone and she basically got told she was only just doing enough and to suck it up!

Is it too late to return them?
