Too old for a Teddy?!

Do your 7 year olds still have teddies? I got my son a teddy and my mum said he’s “a bit old” he’s 7 and he’s “a boy” Hmm

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

My daughter is 10 and still sleeps with her teddies (plural).. she has 3 favourite ones from when she was a baby (small ones that all tuck under one arm) and she has a few newer ones that she loves too.. she has about 6 every night with her. I don’t think she’s too old (I took my childhood doll to uni with me and it still sits on my windowsill now and I’m nearly 40)

Please tell your mother to, quite kindly, keep her daft opinions to herself. Should he 'man up' and forgo his childhood altogether? I can't understand what her issue could be.

My 14 year old who has started going to the gym and is far too old/cool to be seen anywhere with us now, won a large cuddly toy on holiday recently and sleeps with it next to his bed! Never too old for a teddy.

I was tidying out a wardrobe recently and found DS's (13) Teddy. I put it on his bed...a month later, it's still there and he definitely snuggles up to him (Teddy is a "he") at night. Grin

I still have my Teddy, she doesn't sleep in my bed but I know where she is.

I have a teddy who I adore. I’m in my 30s, DC2 asked only tonight when he was snuggling the teddy who do I love more, him or the teddy? of course DC but he knows my teddy is special to me and I tuck him after dc next to my bed with the pillows and the throws I take off our bed every night. DH says I’m mad but I’ve had him so long even before I had DC so he’s getting old and I need to take care of him. He has been with me through break ups, births, deaths and he shall be cremated with me.

Of course not, he will tell you when he thinks he's too old for them.
I get bought teddies as an adult, not that I'm cuddling them. I still have some of my childhood teddies, most the kids have claimed as their own but my special 1st one I keep safe away from them.

I'm 27 and I sleep with a Teddy 😂😂

Not as a security thing but because I always have done so I don't feel comfortable without something wedged between my arms!

It's not an issue and certainly being a boy makes no difference!
