How much did your baby weigh?

Not sure if there is a thread like this, but I’m curious to know how much your baby(ies) weighed when you gave birth Smile
Also how your birth went if you want to share!

Mine weighed 3.69kg (8.135lbs according to google 😁)
Was a difficult birth for me! Took so many hard pushes and she didn’t want to come out 😩

4.04 kg, but it was a c section so most likely an inflated birth weight due to the IV fluids.

Some trusts are now changing to delayed weighing after a day to minimise this and not have the issue of inaccurate post-birth weight loss leading to feeding interventions that aren't actually necessary.

qualitygirl · 22/03/2021 13:35

6lb 8oz

Twizbe · 22/03/2021 13:36

DC1 was 38+6 and weighed 9lb1
DC2 was 40+2 and weighed 9lb3. Both were standard vagina deliveries.

Enterthedragons · 22/03/2021 13:37

5lbs 13
7lbs 5
7lbs 10
8lbs 9
9lbs

Only ever pushed once with each of them, my body just seemed to do it for me Smile

Equimum · 22/03/2021 13:38

DC1 was 8lb15. He got stuck, difficult final stage culminating in complex 3rd degree tear.

DC2 was 9lb8, and despite a back-to-back labour, was all pretty quick and straight forwards.

BlondehairRedlips · 22/03/2021 13:40

7lbs 10
7lbs 8
7lbs 11
8lbs 5

All straightforward, no stitches, just a graze with DC1. Last one was a waterbirth, that was by far the best birth of them all

DowntonCrabby · 22/03/2021 13:44

DC 1 9lbs 10oz, needed forceps at the last min as her heart-rate was dipping.

DC2 11lbs, EMCS after the cord prolapsed when they broke my waters.

Both born just beyond 42 weeks which I don’t think they allow/encourage as much these days so likely they’d have been more “normal” sized if born at term. They were just both very long and now well above average height for their ages.

AyyX · 22/03/2021 13:49

I was actually surprised mine came out the weight she did because there were concerns of her measuring too small which resulted to multiple scans throughout pregnancy.
To everyone who had babies weighing more than 8lbs, idk how you did it 😩 I was struggling so bad! Or maybe her head was just big 😂
But I do hear some people say even small babies can be hard to give birth to.
@Enterthedragons sounds like you got it easy! Wish that could happen for me Grin

DS 8lb 13oz. He needed forceps after becoming distressed after a 36hr labour. I was v ill after this.

DD was 9lb! Elective caesarean - it was amazing.

4lb 12oz - 3 weeks early.
6lb - on due date.
4lb 4oz - 10 days early.
5lb 9oz - 2 weeks early.

all relatively easy and quick births aside from my third which resulted in an emergency c section. i was induced due to slow growth and after almost four days in slow labour nothing was happening and baby was distressed.

WatermelonKisses · 22/03/2021 14:00

6lbs 12oz 6 days early

Vicky1989x · 22/03/2021 14:00

My DD was 1.6kg born at 36 weeks.

IUGR, several scans during pregnancy, stopped growing at 34 weeks, had steroid injections, induction process started at 35+5. Waters broke at 5am 2 days later, hormone drip started at 11am, born at 5:32pm via forceps after being distressed.

BlondehairRedlips · 22/03/2021 14:02

My friend had an 11lbs 5oz baby vaginally, no stitches or anything!!!

1990shopefulftm · 22/03/2021 14:03

4.5kg/9lb 15oz.
I won't be having another baby as they were that short staffed, it was 2.5 days i was left with my waters broken stuck at 3cm without a birth partner at night due to covid restrictions, before they got round to giving me the drip, so we both got sepsis.
By day 5 post birth i basically told them, that if they didn't do the paperwork for our discharge since DS was off his antibiotics i was leaving without my prescriptions as i had no faith anymore.
I had had a panic attack on day 3 when they finally decided i needed antibiotics and isolated me away from baby when my temperature spiked whilst waiting for my covid test.

I m nearly 26 so it's unlikely i could convince them to tie my tubes but after that if I'm a bit tempted to.

1990shopefulftm · 22/03/2021 14:05

Labour wise, 2nd degree tear and an episiotomy but i think it was more how exhausted i was after being in hospital that long that i struggled with pushing and it took 75 minutes to get him out.

Cr17 · 22/03/2021 14:08

First time mum, mine LO was 8lb 7oz.
17.5hrs I was in labour for, she didn't want to come out! Eventually with real hard work she came out with no assistance... I agree it was bloody hard getting her out!
I had no idea how big she was going to be and I was thinking she was going to be around the 7lb mark so was shocked when they told me!
Although I'm glad they never told me how big they thought she might have been, think I would have worried if I knew that 🤣
I had a slight tear but luckly didnt need any stitches.
Congrats ❤

Merename · 22/03/2021 14:08

DC1, 8lb, long but ok labour
DC2, 10lb5 (2 weeks late) easy peasy fast labour!

addictedtotheflats · 22/03/2021 14:10

9lb 9, spontaneous labour at 41 + 5. Ended in forceps though.

Tatum1234 · 22/03/2021 14:12

4lb 13oz at 34+6
8lb 4oz at 37+2
6lb 11oz at 37+4
8lb 7oz at 38+2

All csections, great experiences.

AleynEivlys · 22/03/2021 14:13

First baby was 8 lb 15 oz. Labour was about 24 hours in total. She decided to turn back to back with me near the end so that I got stuck at 9.5 cm dilated and contractions started tailing off. Had planned a water birth but in the end was given syntocinon to start the contractions back up and try to force her back round the right way. As I was very tired and fed up at that point, I opted to also have a 'walking' epidural. They said I had an hour to give birth to her before they would take me down for a caesarean. 58 minutes later, she was out. She came out the right way round, and left me with a small graze that required about two stitches.

That was a hospital birth and while I think they probably could have handled it a little better, it was overall a postive experience.

Second baby was 8 lb 8.5 oz and arrived after 3 hours in active labour. Hers was a water birth in a local birthing centre - no complications, no pain relief, partial darkness and utter silence. That birth was the most magical and enjoyable experience of my life.

Oh, also no stitches at all second time round!

Both were overdue - #1 came at 40+6 and #2 at 40+8.

popcornlover13 · 22/03/2021 14:16

First time mum, 6lb 2oz at 37+2.
2 hour labor
