Not sure if there is a thread like this, but I’m curious to know how much your baby(ies) weighed when you gave birth Smile
Also how your birth went if you want to share!

Mine weighed 3.69kg (8.135lbs according to google 😁)
Was a difficult birth for me! Took so many hard pushes and she didn’t want to come out 😩

8 lbs 1st one. Second one 10.5 lbs

They were both quick, but apparently I have an extraordinarily wide pelvis Shock the obstetrician said I was a sort of Amazonian cave woman who could have given birth just holding onto a tree.

I decided to take that as a compliment Grin and have since been able to appreciate my wide hips a bit more

My body let me down later by slipping 3 discs but that’s another story

First baby: 7lb 11oz, a good labour, 12 hours, 2 hours in active labour(ish, I got to the hospital at 6cm) at 39 weeks
Second baby: 7lb 6oz, had been given the pessary to induce(38 weeks, I had cholestasis) and had my waters broken, I was in pain for 2 days they were preparing the drip, out of the room, they checked me at 11.30pm and I was 3cm dilated, she came back in at 11.47pm with the drip and I was on the toilet with a head between my legs 😅

Sexnotgender · 22/03/2021 19:51

6lb 1
7lb 15
Will see what no.3 does.

6lb 7oz.

My labour was more long than anything else. I was due on the Sunday 30th august 2015, I was booked in for a sweep originally on the Wednesday, but I started having contractions on the Tuesday so I decided to see if things would progress naturally. They didn't so I ended up having a sweep at 3pm on the Friday (40+5).
I got to the hospital at 9 that evening, was in the birth centre by 10.30, had my waters broken around 2am, then gave birth at 6.58am the Saturday morning (40+6).
It didn't hurt or feel uncomfortable at all and it did help move things along (the head wasn't fully engaged so things wouldn't have progressed on their own).

6lbs 9oz❤️

LadyMacnet · 22/03/2021 20:15

First ds 9lb 3oz emergency crash section at 10 days overdue. I didn’t see him until 24 hours later. He was in scbu and I was too poorly to be wheeled down to see him once I had come round from theatre. He’s a strapping, healthy young man now.

Second 10lb 10oz. Planned cs at 39 weeks. Walk in the park after ds1 😁

Bramblecrumble · 22/03/2021 20:18

3.14kg

Larryslockdownlunch · 22/03/2021 20:21

8lb 3 - 40 weeks
7lb 11 - 40 weeks
8lb half an ounce - 40 weeks
8lb 9.5 - 39 weeks
8lb 3 - 39 weeks

All lovely natural/home births except the last one who was ecv, then forceps. Very naughty baby.

FunnyWonder · 22/03/2021 20:30

DS1 6lb 8oz
DS2 6lb 8oz

Both short, relatively straightforward labours. DS2 was two weeks early, so when I started getting mild labour pains, I thought it was indigestion and continued to wander around doing my shopping and visiting my SIL! I rang the hospital for advice at one point, just in case, and the midwife said I didn't sound like someone in labour. An hour later I was in the hospital giving birth. I still remember the midwife asking 'Are you the woman who phoned earlier ...?'GrinGrin

DS was 5lb 15oz. Arrived at 41+6.

ThatsNotTheTeaHunty · 22/03/2021 22:04

@AnneElliott

DS was 5lb 15oz. Arrived at 41+6.
Out of curiosity and you can tell me to mind my own business but he was so dinky for his gestation, do you just carry small babies? Did they ever pick up he was so small? Generally curious as never known a baby that small at that gestation.
Midlifephoenix · 22/03/2021 22:13

First was 10lbs 4oz at 37 weeks. Cesarean with forceps.
Second 9 lbs 14 oz at 38 weeks. Also Cesarean.

MonicaGellerHyphenBing · 22/03/2021 22:29

DC1 - 7lbs, arrived 38+6
DC2 - 8lbs 8oz, arrived 40+3

Both straightforward vaginal deliveries with just gas and air, had a first degree tear with DC1 and second degree with DC2 as his beefy shoulders got momentarily stuck.

ParvaAvis · 22/03/2021 22:44

DS: 4lb 14oz. Consultant was cross that he wasn’t 5lbs exactly, as that was what he’d predicted! 🙄

4 weeks early, induced as DS not growing, ended in emergency C-section. Some time in SCIBU, then one week on the normal maternity ward. Lots of health problems for him, developmental delays etc.

DS is now aged 20, 6ft tall, size 11 feet, works full time in precision engineering and is about to go into the army! He has done very well after his shaky start...

thismeansnothing · 22/03/2021 23:03

7lb15oz - 17 days overdue and DH was a big baby and me above what was deemed average so at that gestation I was expecting her to be massive. EMCS with general anaesthetic. Full works of chaos with that one.

7lb1oz - 10 days early. Was supposed to be an ELCS but technically another EMCS as they brought the date forward for reduced movements. But a completely different experience from DD1.

Bramblecrumble · 23/03/2021 08:28

So in imperial 6"14 at 36 weeks. early due to waters spontaneously breaking (flood like). Felt plenty big enough, only issue was jaundice for a day or two and I had a couple of extra scans for me as she was on the big side, so for me I'm glad I didn't go full term.

espressoontap · 23/03/2021 08:55

@Caspianberg

8lb8 -4kg. Born on due date. 8 hrs straight forward labour.
4kg is 8lb 13oz Smile
TeckanandMultra · 23/03/2021 09:13

3.03kg, and she was c-section. She's quite petite still at 6 months.

ReassureMee · 23/03/2021 09:14

8lb 9oz, 3 days early, 12 hours in labour. Don’t get me wrong I didn’t find it easy I was screaming like a banshee till they got the drugs in me. V. Strong contractions coming every minute and very slow dilation!
He was worth it though!
Women are amazing creatures!

trevthecat · 23/03/2021 09:29

6lb 9oz
6lb 9oz
6lb 12oz

AyyX · 23/03/2021 09:31

@ReassureMee

Women are amazing creatures!

I agree!

After my first birth I can’t imagine women giving birth without epidural or some sort of painkiller because that shit was hardddd 😂

I was hoping not to use epidural but it got so intense I ended up using it.

Hopefully with this second birth it’s quick and I won’t need it Grin

8lb 12 at 40+11 and 8lb 10 at 40+2. Had an induction with my first and the labour was ridiculously long. My second was pretty straightforward.

ReassureMee · 23/03/2021 09:38

@AyyX when are you due? Congratulations, I’m also on the second, wondering if I’ll be braver this time around 😂

imalmostthere · 23/03/2021 09:39

7lb2oz - 1 week late. Was told at growth scan she'd be a ten pounder.
7lb6oz - 1 week early

AyyX · 23/03/2021 09:51
