How much did your baby weigh?

Not sure if there is a thread like this, but I’m curious to know how much your baby(ies) weighed when you gave birth Smile
Also how your birth went if you want to share!

Mine weighed 3.69kg (8.135lbs according to google 😁)
Was a difficult birth for me! Took so many hard pushes and she didn’t want to come out 😩

8 lb 8. Induced at 38 weeks. Slow start as I think I was probably weeks away from anything happening naturally, got put on the hormone drip which was awful then had a lovely epidural so slept from 5-10cm. Pushing stage with no pain was grand Grin.

LadyOfTheFlowers · 22/03/2021 16:41

9lb9 - 1 week early
10lb12.5 - 4 days late
8lb12 - 4 days late
8lb14 - on due date

10lb12.5 was the easiest - paused after crowning so although that was eye watering, it was the only one I didn't tear with

LadyOfTheFlowers · 22/03/2021 16:42

Natural deliveries. First 2 water births

@WisteriaSuperior Just a lower dose of pain medication into the spine so that you are not totally immobilised/without sensation in your lower half. I didn't actually do any walking, but I was still able to feel contractions/touch/some pain - a fair amount of pain actually, but by that point, I was so whacked out that it didn't bother me at all. I was just so delighted not to be in total agony anymore. Grin

AleynEivlys · 22/03/2021 17:59

@AyyX I was very pleasantly surprised! I'd resigned myself to another miserable 24 hours like with my first but it was a total breeze. Smile Still painful of course - very intense - but since I'd already survived it once I figured I could probably do it again. Grin

My first baby was a lot easier than my second though! I think #2 was furious to have been born so quickly. Grin

AyyX · 22/03/2021 18:08

@AleynEivlys I had the hormone drip so I think those contractions are more painful/intense than normal contractions? Hopefully this baby comes earlier or on time so I don’t have to get induced!

I think #2 was furious to have been born so quickly. Grin 😂😂😂

7lb11oz at 40+13 wks DD
9lb2oz at 40 wks DS
DS was far easier. I was induced with both.

FolkSongSweet · 22/03/2021 18:29

8lb 12oz (3980g) and 9lbs (4100g). Both very fast vaginal deliveries in the water with head centiles off the charts ending up with second degree tears.

AleynEivlys · 22/03/2021 18:49

@AyyX Yeah they are apparently - that's what I was told at the time and that's why I took the epidural! Couldn't cope with the thought of worse pain after close to 24 hours dealing with it already. You gotta do what you gotta do. 100% worth it. Grin

Dc1 10lbs 13 - 39 wks c section
Dc2 6lbs 12 - 37 wks

HaNNaHC92 · 22/03/2021 18:55

DC 1 - 10 days overdue, 8lb12oz, 6.5hr labour and ended with a few stitches.

DC 2 - 9 days overdue, 9lb2oz, 1.5hr labour, 3 pushes and she was out.

I'm due now on the 1st May with baby no.3 so really hoping I have another birth like baby no.2.

TheVanguardSix · 22/03/2021 18:55

8 1/2 lbs
8 1/2 lbs
and 8 lbs

All straightforward and wonderful. Though DC1's labour was mega-long and I'd been told (and was very worried because of it) that he'd be approximately 5 lbs at term. Wrong! Grin

TheVanguardSix · 22/03/2021 18:57

I suppose I should add, all 3 of mine were at 40 weeks... plus a day or two (can't recall).

MojoJojo71 · 22/03/2021 19:00

DS was 3969g (8lb 12) at 38+5
DD was 3095g (6lb 13) at 39+6

Thesagacontinues · 22/03/2021 19:05

DS1 9lb 6oz , came of his own accord at 38 weeks. Awful labour, birth and recovery.

5 years later I plucked up the courage to have a second. Changed to a different hospital.
Was told he would be a big baby, predicted to be 10lb by 40 weeks so they wanted him out by that stage so I could have a vaginal birth.
Was induced at 39+5, he was born at 39+6 and was just short of 11lb.
Labour, birth and recovery much easier this time around. Managed to escape with a small tear, cant even remember if I had stitches for this one.

Tretchikoff · 22/03/2021 19:09

EMCS twins
Boy 5lb 4
Girl 2lb 12

Tretchikoff · 22/03/2021 19:10

@35 weeks

ThatsNotTheTeaHunty · 22/03/2021 19:16

DS was born at 38+3 and weight 7lb 2oz.
Had a nice birth but was pushing for a few hours. They didn't realise he went back to back but as soon as a doctor turned him back to the right position I managed to push him out within the next hour. I had to take an hours break from pushing as I was exhausted and DS was a bit distressed.

ThatsNotTheTeaHunty · 22/03/2021 19:17

I also had a second degree tear so needed a few stitches but healed nicely Smile.

jackieweaverforpm · 22/03/2021 19:20

8lb 15oz- standard delivery albeit long
9lb 7oz- crash c section after a cord prolapse. Scary as hell

PollyRoe16 · 22/03/2021 19:23

9 lb 12

Terrible birth, baby was back to back so wasn't coming out. Concerns over heart rate/ oxygen levels so had to take a blood sample from baby's head and I hallucinated on gas and air that someone was pinning me down and attacking me during the procedure. After that had to beg for a csection as I was in no fit mental state to continue with labour

Quadrangle · 22/03/2021 19:24

9 / 3 at 41 weeks (natural
8/15 at 38 + 5 (planned section

Gatehouse77 · 22/03/2021 19:24

DS 7lbs 4ozs; 3 internal stitches; 10 hour labour

DD1 6lbs 9ozs; no stitches; 6.5 hour labour

DD2 6lbs 11ozs; no stitches; 2.5 hour labour

All very straightforward for me, as were the pregnancies.

Easterbunnygettingready · 22/03/2021 19:24

6-13 long labour but OK delivery
9-2 under 3 hour easy birth
8-10 as above
7/10 as above

7-10 awful back to back
6-8 5 hours not too bad
7-2 as above
6-5 water broke 2 days earlier, sent home and just made it back to hospital!
