And where do you live? Looking for a nursery for my to-be 11 month old in the suburbs of London and not really sure of the going rate. Thanks 😊

I registered 4 months before baby was born. She started at 4 months old for two days a week but I didn't get any choice which days they were. I would have had to wait months and months to get a choice of days. This is west London.

WhenTwoBecomeThree · 26/01/2021 20:41

£50 per day in West Yorkshire, doesn't include nappies, wipes, cream etc though x

Fressia123 · 26/01/2021 20:41

£70 per day, 10 hours each.

South east Greater London £73 a day including 3 hot meals, 2 snacks, nappies and sun cream

We booked when he was 5 months older to start at 13 months and got the last place

RedMarauder · 26/01/2021 20:52

£7 per hour with a childminder in South London. So anything from £66 to £77 per day. Doesn't include nappies (and formula) but does include wipes, food and activities.

Other childminders and nurseries were between £6.50 - £8.50 per hour

A follow up: how long before your child started nursery did you reserve their place? Feeling a bit on the back foot here!
DD was about 2 months old and our HV told us off for not reserving a childcare place.

Lots of the local nurseries had places as we planned to put DD in childcare just before the school summer holidays, but all the childminders within 15 minutes walk were full up on the days we need. So she attends one that is 19 minutes walk away.

When making enquiries I got lots of sexist replies that presumed I was the one working PT/compressed hours, when actually DD goes to the childminder when he is at work.

£43 a day including snacks and hot lunch, but not nappies or wipes. I'm in Scotland.

Surprised nobody mentioned the gov 20% discount scheme, those in the South must really make the most of that!!

I enquired about nursery places 5m before I planned to go back to work thinking was loads of time, but few options were available by then and we got lucky with our spot in the end.

doughnutcraver · 26/01/2021 21:00

I've been emailing around enquiring on prices and what they offer.
South Wales
Childminder £36 per day supply own food
Childminder with all meals included £38.50
Nursery £48 per day.
With both you supply own nappies and wipes.

I mentioned it :)

Just paid my nursery bill for Feb now so it was on my mind 😁

Registered dd the day after she was born as couldn't register until she was born. Waiting list was 9 months.
We pay 40 a day in Bristol

MrsOnions0 · 26/01/2021 21:04

£78 North London Zone two for an under 2. No nappies and wipes. 8am - 6pm

Name on a waiting list from when I was 30 weeks for when DS was 12 months for 5 days. Didn’t get a place. They rang me last week (he’s 19 months) to offer me 2 days p/w

Only got to the front of one waiting list- the one he’s in and couldn’t fault it

Will be moving soon to a commuter town. On waiting list there too. They’re £65 p/d

My nursery has a price list that varies a lot, depending on age of the child and how many days a week is going. With two other sections for half days (mornings costing more than afternoons). It would be difficult to tell you how much per hour not knowing how often he/she would attend.

I am sending him full time for 5 days a week, paying for the 51 weeks a year they are open, costs spread monthly. That means (roughly)£1600 per month at 2 year old for us.

It includes all meals and nappies. We are in Surrey, but within M25 if that makes sense.

£47 per day including food snacks nappies wipes sun cream and formula if you use it. South east. Put her application in at 7 months old, started at a year old, but I don't know if there was a waiting list so I could have waited. Rated outstanding.

Dyra · 26/01/2021 21:18

£62 per day. This is on the cheaper side and of nursery prices in my area (Oxfordshire).

All meals and snacks provided. Nappies and wipes also included. Ordinarily they would be open from 0730 until 1830, but they've reduced hours (but not the price...) to 0800 - 1700 due to Covid bubbling/staffing reasons.

WalesStar · 26/01/2021 21:18

£42 per day. North Wales. Includes breakfast, lunch and snack/afternoon tea. Have to provide nappies. Am shocked at some of the London/south east prices.

FlopMadeMeDoIt · 26/01/2021 21:22

£43 a day including all food (provide own nappies). North Yorkshire.

RicStar · 26/01/2021 21:22

We pay a bit over £70 per day for a fulltime place for a 2 year old in September london - would be 80ish for a baby, includes nappies etc. We got a space in October with no waiting list but ds was 2, i think many nurseries around my way are still under their normal enrolment levels so there might not be as long a list as normal although probably more impact in toddler rooms (where numbers are higher) than baby rooms.

RicStar · 26/01/2021 21:23

September?! Should say South East London

Dyra · 26/01/2021 21:26

Oops. Bad finger pressing post before I was ready!

Applied when baby was 5 months old for a place when baby was 13 months old. Fortunately, they did have space, but they didn't initially have the days I wanted. Fortunately I could juggle my shifts to days they did have available until they had capacity to give me the days I wanted (3 months later). All other nurseries in my local area had a 12 month+ waiting list.

Eastereggfan · 26/01/2021 21:31

£58 until 2, then £53, Durham.

LividLoving · 26/01/2021 21:32

£43.50 all in, which I didn’t think was cheap until I read this thread.

Fucking hell.

NW.

SurreyMumOfOne · 26/01/2021 21:34

£84/day in Surrey. 8am-6pm, three meals, two snacks, nappies and wipes. That includes a slight discount because he goes 5 days and will reduce slightly once he turns 3. Its the going rate in my town for this type of nursery. It's a huge amount of money but they deserve their outstanding rating and he loves it. Thank God it's only for three years and we'll get funding when he turns three.

That's said, I would much rather live where @mindutopia does from what I've read!

snowone · 26/01/2021 21:52

About £52 a day including dinner and tea. We are East Lancashire

SpottyDotty99 · 26/01/2021 21:57

£45 a day, North West. Have always thought this was expensive until I read these prices. £100 a day in London Shock

Tucancrossing · 26/01/2021 21:58

Okayyyy think I might have left it a bit late. I need a place for late August... hadn't even crossed my mind to think about nurseries until now 🙈 HUGE FAIL.

Looks like I'll be taking whatever I can get or he'll be going to a childminder 😆
