And where do you live? Looking for a nursery for my to-be 11 month old in the suburbs of London and not really sure of the going rate. Thanks 😊

just thought id put my 2 cents in! i am in ireland (north west) and receive lone parents as i am a single mum. my 3 year old goes to creche and the hours are from 8 in the morning till 6 in the evening but obviously i dont leave him in for that long as my hours at work are short. he gets breakfast at home and i drop him down and he gets lunch and sometimes dinner there if i am not there early. all i have to send with him is a change of clothes and his nappies, wipes and cream. its comes to a total of 23euro per week, yes per week! also every child here is entitled to 2 free years of playschool no matter what their parents income, its usually for 3 hours per day. some places in ireland (Dublin) parents are paying over 1000euro per month on childcare, which is more than most peoples mortgage!

Scottishskifun · 26/01/2021 23:22

My sons nursery is £54 a day full day we pay £44 a day as he does a "school hours"
All meals and nappies included (we do cloth though so send in) North East Scotland

Tulipmonster · 26/01/2021 23:24

£55 a day in zone 3 east London, open 8-6 - they provide breakfast, hot lunch, afternoon tea and snacks, we provide nappies etc. It’s not the fanciest - the outdoor space in particular is a bit sparse - but we chose it because the staff were so warm and friendly. Our DD adores it so we’re pretty pleased, and reading this I’ve realised it’s a real outlier for London!

Going rate around here is £100/day, north London.

HorseOfPhillipMoss · 26/01/2021 23:31

Usually £75 a day 8-6 although we drop off at 8:30 and pick up at 5:30 includes all snacks and hot lunch and dinner, but we provide nappies, wipes, suncream etc, reduced rates at the moment £60 as we are providing our own lunches and they are only open 9-5. Essex.
I put DS on the list to start at a year old when he was two weeks, they've stopped allowing people to register when they are pregnant as the wait list got silly. It's just a Montessori not a pre prep or anything like that.

kirinm · 26/01/2021 23:32

SE London (zone 2), £72 a day.

ZippedyDooDa · 26/01/2021 23:34

And the waiting lists arghhhh....sorry OP I dont want to upset you.....apply to several asap!!

dingoesatemybaby · 26/01/2021 23:34

£38 per day 7am - 6pm including 3 meals (we supply nappies)

Manchester

Scottishskifun · 26/01/2021 23:36

Crikey no wonder parents find childcare costs prohibitive to going back to work with some of these!
My sons nursery is the most expensive in our town but they have a lot of outdoor space and a forest school from 3. Some of these are eye watering!

Miarara · 27/01/2021 00:06

£52 in Greater Manchester, we had to reserve a place about 6 months before we needed it.

twolittlebears · 27/01/2021 00:45

£95 per day. Zone 1 Central London. Reserved place at 20 weeks pregnant. Got a place just before DC turned 1 but only after much begging and luck - as others have said manager felt I should have registered earlier to start at age 1!!!

Mylittlesandwich · 27/01/2021 00:54

We pay £52 a day in central Scotland. That includes meals, snacks, drinks and nappies. I registered DS when I was 16 weeks pregnant so I could get the days we needed. He started when he was 8 months.

Littlepoppet1 · 27/01/2021 06:50

£47.50 - Lancashire. Including all meals and nappies.

escocesita · 27/01/2021 13:52

I am staggered by some of the prices for nursery in the UK! I’m in Berlin and nursery is free from there age of 1. Don’t think I’ll ever be able to afford to move back to the UK!

75 a day, Manchester

Bananalanacake · 27/01/2021 16:50

I'm in North Germany and Kindergarten is 150 euros a month. But you have to collect them before 2 and provide a breakfast.

escocesita · 27/01/2021 16:59

@FoxtrotSkarloey

All children are entitled to 5-7 hours per day from the age of one and if you show that you need longer hours due to work our study, they can go up to 9 hours.
