i have 4 kids and 1 step daughter,
dident really set out for that many, were going to stop at 2 but that felt a bit "peter and jane"ish.

had a third a bit sooner then planned, felt the family was complete, then along came number 4 as a complete shock!

glad now though as 2 girls and 2 boys is good,
step daughter never lived with us and is now all grown up.

3 because I just really wanted another after number two......and I don't think I am finished wanting(but don't tell dh )

  1. one of each. not having any more unless I inherit a large amount of cash and a nanny. Mind saying that, I never planned to have any to begin with
PeachesMcLean · 11/09/2007 22:51
  1. Because it was too traumatic to think of having any more.

2, a girl and a boy. want 3 but haven't the strength!

PrettyCandles · 11/09/2007 23:03

3 because when we had 2 it felt Peter and Janeish!

Also
3 because dh crosses his legs and screams "No no no no no!" if I so much as mention the possibility of having another.

Also
3 because tbh I don't want to be having babies in my 40s.

Though I wouldn't grieve if we were to have an 'accident' .

LittleBella · 11/09/2007 23:03

2
Because I didn't start until 33 and split with ex when I was 35.

So window was very short.

choosyfloosy · 11/09/2007 23:03
  1. Because i'm quite old and fat, partly, so the brief periods of trying haven't been long enough to have another. And because I can't actually contemplate another 2 years of dh being so frequently ill, which it seems quite likely would happen again.

But fundamentally, because you just can't fake the passionate relief I feel when my period starts.

Always wanted 3

totaleclipse · 11/09/2007 23:04

We have 3because we only ever planned to have 2, but mother nature had other ideas and granted us twins on my 2nd pregnancy

weebleswobble · 11/09/2007 23:05

2 because Mother Earth I ain't.

Love them to bits, but couldn't have coped with any more.

lou33 · 11/09/2007 23:13

4

god knows why

Sazisi · 11/09/2007 23:21

3, because 2 seemed too neat and tidy, and I felt like there was someone else waiting in the sidelines
think we're done now though..

juuule · 12/09/2007 07:23

9 - because I'm greedy.

mymama · 12/09/2007 07:49

Too many. Because I drink too much .

  1. I don't know why. I sometimes feel like I should have stopped at one or two.
Trinityrhino · 12/09/2007 07:50

really juuule????
how do you manage with the washing, the amounts of food preperation and bedtime
Those are the three things I have trouble with and I only have 3!!!

harleyd · 12/09/2007 07:52

4
sofar
wanted heaps of babies

peanutbear · 12/09/2007 07:54

3
I had my ds1 by my first marriage, then had ds2 and really wanted a girl, so tried on the 50% chance knowing another boy would be great too but got my little girl

this is it now I feel my family is complete (Ijust have to convince DH)

LadyTophamHatt · 12/09/2007 07:54

Dh wanted 2 and I was happy with that.

Once we had 2 I wanted a 3rd. I was desparate for a 3rd and it was all I could think about.

Ds3 was born just after ds2 2nd birthday.

I was then broody, but not madly desparate for a 4th but promised myself (and DH) that I wouldn't keep asking. I wouldn't put us both through that again because it consumed my life when I wanted no#3.

Ds4 is 8 months old and to say he was ashock is a huge understatement. Never in amillion years did I think we'd have a 4th so when I got up one morning in may last year and did a pregnancy test I nearly fainted through shock...seriously I watched the colour drain from my face as teh PG test was screaming you're preganat at me, I've never seen such a postitve PG test in my life, it seems to be glowing!

So Dh wanted 2. I wanted 3. Now we have 4.

Ds4 is the best mistake we've EVER made!!

kittywits · 12/09/2007 07:55

6, I just didn't feel ready to stop. Now I think I am ready to stop

laura032004 · 12/09/2007 08:01

2 - didn't want just one as DH is an only child. I've got 2 DS's, so a little part of me would be tempted to go for no. 3 on the chance of a girl, but I don't want another baby that much, so I think we'll stick at 2. I'd love a little 'accident' in the next year or so, but not after that as I'd like life to get out of the early baby stage soon.

random · 12/09/2007 08:03

3 wanted 2..ds3 also the best mistake we ever made 9 year age gap so very much a shock!!

3sEnough · 12/09/2007 08:15

3 because there was somebody missing after 2! All present and correct now.

Amethyst8 · 12/09/2007 13:53

2 but want another. DH is happy with two though so have considered an "accident". Anyone heard the saying that all women end up with one less child than they want? Think that will definitely be me.

Hulababy · 12/09/2007 13:55

At present I have been unable to have another. I have adhesions on my uterus (ASherman's Syndrome) likely caused by my c section with DD, which may be contricuting/causing infertility. I t took a long time to have DD - possible due to cervical stenosis, which hopefully is being sorted out too. After the minor ops I am having currently I may be able to have a second, but we will see. Big age gap now as DD is already 5.

bossykate · 12/09/2007 13:59

2

would like 4 but (1) left it late-ish to start having that many (2) am working f/t and am likely to remain doing that or at least 80% for the forseeable future and things are stretched enough as it is.
