i have 4 kids and 1 step daughter,
dident really set out for that many, were going to stop at 2 but that felt a bit "peter and jane"ish.

had a third a bit sooner then planned, felt the family was complete, then along came number 4 as a complete shock!

glad now though as 2 girls and 2 boys is good,
step daughter never lived with us and is now all grown up.

One ds.

Because I wasn't able to have any more - tow missed miscarriages, no luck and advancing age.

I vowed I would never have an only child but fate has made a different decision.

  1. I set out to have 2, got bad PND with DD, and it seemed to wipe out any remaining desire for children. I sometimes (well, often) think I should have another (no guarantee I could of course, DD was a Clomid baby) but I simply don't want to. Now if ParcelForce or similar could deliver me another 3yo, I might go for it - I am delighted that baby days are over, but the thought of 'running through the house after a naked child shouting "I want to squeeeeeze you"' days being over makes me sad.

1 DD. DH already has 3, 2 of whom live with us (10 year gap between youngest DSD and my DD).

Had pre-eclampsia and swore blind in the hospital that we won't have any more. He's adamant that he doesn't want me to risk my health again. I'm getting steadily broodier and broodier.... sigh

Also the age thing - I've seen a few of you say you're now "too old". I had DD at 38, and do feel too old for another. I suppose that's a whole other debate, as some would say I have YEARS left yet.

Love having 3 and it was always planned to have that number.

Refused sterilisation at last section as we both felt it was too final a decision to make but we say we've "probably" completed our family.

Think that's it now as I'm happy to give baby stuff away when it's finished with (rather than back up the loft). Also we have room for them in our home and in our cars but another baby wouldn't really fit.

keisha · 14/09/2007 14:12

dont think i would be sterilized its to final

lou33 · 14/09/2007 15:03

i dont regret being done

chipmonkey · 14/09/2007 22:33

I'm thinking I should be "done" this time. I will be 39 when ds4 is born adn always said I would stop at 40. But dh is being a bit obtuse about it and saying it's a very "final" thing to do, which of course it is. Ds4 will be born by CS so the Obstretician might as well do it while he's in there, so to speak!
