Hello All,
I applied for my son to join the modelling agency m0del (the O isn't a letter it's number zero) and he got selected. He his 5 month and 3 weeks.

I know I should of done the research beforehand however I can't find much info on the agency now and to find info is from the website only. Has anyone come across this website. I applied through Facebook.

Let me know Smile
Thanks
Nas

I have a friend who works for the National Crime Agency. They have a Cyber Crime Unit. www.nationalcrimeagency.gov.uk/about-us/what-we-do/national-cyber-crime-unit
She advised me to take this to the local Police initially and the bank and report it as Cyber Fraud. It can take a while to recover your money but through tracing IP bank account numbers every bank transaction can be traced to the source. The emails and texts can be used as evidence that the "agency" didn't fulfill the contract.

We sadly fell for this today we contacted m0del and they said that my 2 children had been excepted and no fees had to be payed they sent us to studio 44 in Manchester where they took 48 images of my 2 children, then after 30 minutes we were called through to a room where we were told that the 48 pictures put on a disk were going to be £1000 my girlfriend said we can't afford that she said can you Offerd £250 and the rest by direct debit at £62 a month I stormed out and said that is a piss take a £1000 for 48 pictures but my girlfriend signed up regardless, I told her we were getting ripped off! this is completely legel by the way I have phoned the police and trading standards and they said we can't do anything because we have agreed to purchase the photos it's a scam STAY AWAY

dalton7675 · 10/02/2016 16:07

we got scammed

wheeze65 · 10/02/2016 17:08

dalton7675, I spoke to Trading Standards and they said one thing we could try was to fight them using the Consumer Protection From Unfair Trading Regulations 2008. Don't give up, go to your bank and get the direct debit stopped straight away. My bank are being very helpful and the assistant has told me that with the emails and evidence I have, there is a 90% chance we will get our money back.
Another thing I thought of today, is that we have in writing from M0del Agency that they were covering the cost of the shoot. So in effect all we have bought is COPIES of 52 digital images, which I think you could successfully argue you have been overcharged for.
Also, if your girlfriend signed the same contract for the purchase of the photos that says you agreed "I understand that once I leave the premises, I cannot cancel, return or reduce the order" - I am not sure they are allowed to do that, there should be at least a 14 day cooling off period.
Don't give up! We can't let them get away with this!

wheeze65 · 10/02/2016 17:58

I've found the relevant bit in the Consumer Protection Regulations:

Aggressive commercial practices

7.—(1) A commercial practice is aggressive if, in its factual context, taking account of all of its features and circumstances—

(a)it significantly impairs or is likely significantly to impair the average consumer’s freedom of choice or conduct in relation to the product concerned through the use of harassment, coercion or undue influence; and

(b)it thereby causes or is likely to cause him to take a transactional decision he would not have taken otherwise.

Kayy9 · 11/02/2016 10:40

Please let's not let anyone else fall for this they use children and it's is just unfair because of these photos were of our selves most of us wouldn't purchase . They pressure you . Be aware all

Wow, what a lovely, supportive post there ewbank Hmm

Do you really need to piss on people like that?

Reporting.

Woods28 · 11/02/2016 15:59

Ewbank. I am one these parents that has been scammed by this company. I was not 'pimping my child out' as you so sickly put it or letting any old person take pictures of my daughter.

I like many other parents took my daughter to what I thought was a legitimate modelling agency to have what I thought were professional pictures taken of my daughter. My reason for doing this was to put any money she made away in to an account for her and save up for when she is older to help her in life. Whether that be for driving lessons, university etc. As a parent I want to help my children any way I can.

I certainly do not need to come on here and read rubbish statements like this off you.

I suggest if you have nothing helpful to say then keep your fingers off your keyboard.

I hope you are never a victim of a scam.

frogletsproglets · 11/02/2016 16:52

my son has just been "accepted" by this dodgy agency Hmm

will be steering well clear

wheeze65 · 11/02/2016 17:19

Ewbank. Trust me, it wasn't "any old person" that took my daughter's photo. Google Limitless Photography and you will find their website with pictures of the studio. It is all very well you preaching but I wonder how convinced you would be if you were us? When googling the name, albeit incorrectly, comes up with nothing negative and then the test shoot is held in a very professional looking set-up? It's very easy for you to judge when you've not experienced it.
I wasn't "pimping my child out", she's 21 and is model material, except for the fact that she is 5'3". She wanted to take advantage of her looks whilst she's still got them and these people convinced her they could get modelling jobs for her. She's not a very confident person, certainly not vain, so to hear the compliments she got from everyone at the studio, yes, she got stars in her eyes.

Before being so quick to criticise someone, walk a mile in their shoes!

ewbank · 11/02/2016 17:41

The scam artists wouldn't exist if there weren't so many pushy parents shoving their offspring into their paths. This thread is a case in point. It's a narcissistic , misogynist industry which suckers in the gullible.

wheeze65 · 11/02/2016 17:53

You know best, eh ewbank? Wink

wheeze65 · 11/02/2016 19:01

I am pleased to be able to announce (as my daughter has just been to her bank and had verification) that we have obtained a full refund! I wrote an email to the photographers, in my case Limitless Photography, stating the circumstances of the shoot and how we were pressurised into paying for the photos and quoting the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 (I posted this earlier, with the link to the legislation). Today I have received an email from M0del Agency, apologising for their error and they have paid our money back in full.

Kayy9 · 12/02/2016 11:17

I am currently in the process of trying to get my money back from the studio they are saying that because I have the photos they are not in the wrong . Any advise please

frogletsproglets · 16/02/2016 09:43

that's great wheeze ! so glad to hear it.

TanDawson · 17/02/2016 01:10

I am so glad that I have come across this forum as I was thinking of applying for my 2 children who I am forever being told would make great models as they are caucasian/italian and not to seem biased are absoloutely stunning! but as we have previously been scammed by Adora models and the horrid Anthony Jones, I though I would do my due diligence in this agency that keeps appearing on my FB newsfeed before disclosing any personal information and my children's images via the simplistic application form on their website, and posting on here for you all to read. And am I glad that I did!! You never know who these sick people may be, seems to me like it's a sad ugly pervert named Anthony that doesn't seem to get enough of exploiting young children and proud parents. Sickening to say the least!!

Having read all the comments online I also decided to dig a little further into the domain registrations on who.is and found that this is yet another company of the scamming b Anthony Jones and his side piece Nicola Jones. Although the domain name for m0del is registered firstly by James Wilson (same as blackberry) it was then changed to Katherine Elliott after this thread was started? I decided to check the EUMA site (a European regulator yet the website is a .co.uk?) and lo and behold, it is registered to NICOLA JONES (same as adora)

I then decided to call this so called agency at the beginning of this month, and said that I was outside their registered office (having already determined it was a serviced office having called the proprietors and confirmed no agency was registered there) and if she could describe the building I needed to enter in order to come see someone face to face and as there are a few buildings I was unsure which to enter. She could not describe the building despite saying she was in the building? Instead I was told that she only deals with inbound calls and if I wished to arrange a drop in I would need to email her 'managers'.

I then called back a day later and said that I was booked in at the Birmingham studio and wanted their name, I was told Studio 94 and she kept asking me for my name to locate my details! I quickly ended the call. I then had two friends call regarding the Manchester and London Studio's and they were given the names "Studio 44" and "the studio is in Shoreditch on Bricklane" when pushed for the address my friend was told quite abruptly "the details are on the confirmation email you will have received after booking" to which my friend stated she was due in in 15 minutes and her battery had died on her handset so was unable to confirm the address. She was then told "its 208 and the studio is called shoreditch studio"

I googled shoreditch studio and obtained the following website details: www.shoreditchstudios.com/
with their address being : SHOREDITCH STUDIOS, 37 BATEMANS ROW, LONDON EC2A 3HH

Definitely not 208 Brick lane!!

I then called back and recorded the voice of the girl that answered whilst stating that I have previously been scammed by Adora and if she could provide me with details of any jobs their models had completed to which she stated that she doesn't deal with that side of things and therefore I would need to email her manager Chrissy, however she does know that they have jobs in from Argos, Toys'R'Us and Boss Kids.

I subsequently contacted all 3 companies and they stated they have never heard of the agency in question and most definitely have not approached them with any jobs!

I then listened to the voice recording I had from my last call to Adora before they stopped answering any calls and subsequently removed their number from their website (02032913659), and again the one from M0del (who are now modelagency.uk.com??) and the voice was an exact match!

Having looked into other reviews on the internet, I have determined that they have renamed their Manchester, London and Birmingham studios, however all reviews show that the paperwork that people have received is in the name of NYC Studios for all 3 studios. I am guessing that the studios in Bristol and Coventry (as well as the new studios mentioned above since we signed with Adora) are all under the same management of the vile Anthony Jones.

The above are my findings from a fortnight of repeated calls to this so called agency and extensive on line research!

BEWARE OF THIS SCAM COMPANY!!!!!! THEY ARE IN CAHOOTS WITH THE STUDIOS AND ARE MOST DEFINITELY BENEFITING FROM THE MONEY WE WHO HAVE PAID FOR IMAGES!!

I hope my findings will help stop any further innocent folk getting drawn into false promises and misrepresentation!!

I have also passed my findings and the call recordings on to the necessary authorities in an attempt to stop this vile peado ring from abusing the trust of aspiring models and their families!!

Please protect your children and do not submit their images online, any reputable agency will be happy for you to drop in at their office and represent models with a headshot (no makeup) and a body shot (again no makeup) against a clear background. No portfolios are required!!

As I have not registered with the agency they cannot email me as they have others under the assumed name of Chrissy however if they locate my details on their Adora records I will most definitely be receiving an email from the vile creature called Anthony and his harem of sick perverted female employees who most probably have no kids of their own or they would not work for a company that is preying on children, and if they do they should hope and prey that their children do not fall prey to paedophiles like themselves (has anyone ever spoken to a male member of staff?? from all the reviews I have read, and each time I have spoken to anyone, it seems to be females only!)

FINALLY - ANY ORGANISATION THAT APPOINTS A MANAGER WITH MEAGRE LITERACY SKILLS IS ONE TO AVOID AT ALL EXPENSES!!!

Hi TanDawson. The studios in Manchester go by two names, either Studio 44 (where we were told to attend) or NYC Studios. Looking them up on Google gives both the same address, but when we bought the photos, we paid Limitless Photography. The Limitless Photography website is quite interesting, you can get a photographic package deal with them that's much better than the "portfolio" they provided for a lot less money!
I guess the most telling thing though was that when I emailed my complaint to Limitless Photography on Wednesday evening, I got a response from M0del Agency offering a full refund the next morning.
BTW, "Chrissy" is still watching the thread. No doubt she'll email me yet again to tell me how horrid I am for posting on this forum.

TanDawson · 17/02/2016 11:17

Hi Wheeze65. No reputable agency would spend their time on forums reading what is being said unless they have something to be scared of. They would in fact be too busy to as they would be busy securing their models work.

This Chrissy sounds as obnoxious and rude as the 'managers' at Adora and Blackberry. From the reviews it seems that all '3' managers, if you could call them that, have a very poor grasp of the English language!

If the agency and studio were not in cahoots you would have received the email directly from Limitless and not from this fake agency that continues to change its name so that they can avoid bad press! Goes to show that what people are saying is true, they are one and the same!!

Premonition : M0del (or modelagency.uk.com) will soon cease to exist and resurface with another name in an attempt to dupe more innocent parents and aspiring models out of hundreds and thousands of pounds!

Word of advice : AVOID ALL AGENCIES THAT ADVERTISE ON FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM, TWITTER, GUMTREE OR WORK WITH LIMITLESS PHOTOGRAPHY/NYC STUDIOS!!

Elliott2014 · 17/02/2016 14:22

I have not wrote on here for a while as I could not be bothered with the hassle from m0dels sending me emails all the time.

Tandawson thank you for all the information you have took time to find out. I knew it!! 👏 These people it seems will stop at nothing to scam people out of whatever they can get. Please anyone who has made a payment by card get that card cancelled and a new one issued as these company's have been know to take the full amount of money by storing the card details and making a manual payment.
