Hello All,
I applied for my son to join the modelling agency m0del (the O isn't a letter it's number zero) and he got selected. He his 5 month and 3 weeks.

I know I should of done the research beforehand however I can't find much info on the agency now and to find info is from the website only. Has anyone come across this website. I applied through Facebook.

Let me know Smile
Thanks
Nas

Firstly blue has gone very quiet!

I was invited there last week, went with my husband and after only 15mins of pictures we were told to go and someone would be in touch tomorrow to go through the photos personally. (this never happened). However once in the car I had already received a declined email.

I find this very strange after reading all these comments and knowing someone personally who was sold the photos.

The only thing i can think of is whilst i was there i failed to see the signs saying do not take personal pictures, so took a few shots of my own of the studio including staff in it. I have no idea if this has anything to do with the not going through with the scam on their part or if I am just very lucky indeed!

Also I would be interested in how blue got those pics of the studio as look very professional (like there work in a studio), and from what i remember there were a lot of people about but non in there pics!

Hi all. It is with must disgust that I must agree with the comments left about m0delagency. I fell for it. Got photo shoot done in Camden Town. Uploaded my son's profile only after I googled this agency :( . Got in touch with this lady from the agency to get a address for them and was given a e-mail address that bounced back. After few attempt got a e-mail asking how could they help so I voiced all my concerns only did not get any reply. Again this morning tried the e-mail I was given and again bounced back.
Also called the studio where they assured me that this agency is not a scam but also told me they are not associated yet they took my money, the argument was that I bought the product.
I got in touch with citizens advice bureau and they gave me a fraud website and a number were to call them to see what can be done.
Disappointed that I spent quite a lot of money but even more because my son really enjoyed it and got very excited I sent the agency another e-mail only this time to this lady Chrissy so I'm just giving them a chance to come clean or offer me a explanation.
All in all I'm pretty sure that I was scammed but I will be trying to get some of my money back or just created awareness so other parents/people do not get scammed and disappointed.
If I do not get a reply shortly I will get in touch with the fraud squad I was given and also citizens consumer helpline.

It is sad that they are allowed to do this and get away with it.

Hi, I am not a mum but have just registered on this site after seeing these posts. I went to a photoshoot this morning with M0del Agency in Bristol :
Address: Unit 2, The Old Malthouse, 4-6 Pennywell Road, Bristol,BS5 0TJ

When I got there it was a shoddy run down looking place, nothing like I was expecting! The "receptionist" was a rude pregnant woman who gave me a couple of forms to fill out in the shabby seating area. I then waited 50 mins to have make up done, the girl who done my make up was actually lovely and really polite, I then went straight into my photoshoot which seemed professional well done. After this was over I waited about 45 mins and was then led to a room with a lady called Kelly, she did seem very friendly and professional and showed me my photos which did look great and really well taken. She said I'd been successfully and I was told about needing to purchase the portfolio if I wanted to be added to Model Agency's web site and start getting job offers.
I, like everyone else on here, expressed my suprise as I thought this was a free photoshoot. She explained that I would need a portfolio to get work and the quickest way would be purchase the photos taken today. Luckily I didn't purchase them ( final deal offered to me was £300, originally £500). I have not done anything like this before so wasn't sure if this was the norm but the sceptic in me told me to my pay any money.

My main concern now is to make sure the photos are deleated and not used for anything else Confused

Any advice on how I can go back to them and let them know I will not be purchasing the photos and want to make sure they are not used elsewhere?

Thank you!

Hi Lozh 1992 they told me my photos would be deleted at the end of the day hence why they tell you to purchase this photos. I wouldn't worry too much because all they want is our money and as you were right you didn't give any so you should be OK.
If you are still concerned then contact citizens advice bureau for advice on what you can do.
Well done for spoting the scammers.
As this m0del agency it's not real hence the 0 (zero) instead of o. Zero work is what we get from them but they get our pounds, under false pretences, from us... outrageous!! And get away with it even more outrageous!!!

Right im adding my 2 pence worth and don't care who is watching this thread!!!!!

These people are disgusting and have no morals at all.

I within 48 hours had the email, accepted the photo shoot, went along and took my mum.
THANK THE LORD I DID.

My daughter is 5 weeks old. I think shes beautiful, so i thought yeah i would like her to model.

I, too, showed up at 208 brick lane, the Shoreditch studios. It was a grubby basement, with a flight of stairs that everyone had to bring their buggy down ( no consideration for the parents)
The man at reception was unprofessional, falling asleep, uninterested and false.

All the staff were miserable and my photographer didnt even give me her name.
She didnt even have patience herself as i had to change my baby's nappy and she did not like this one bit.

59 shots later and 45 minutes waiting, KONG calls us in his swanky office with his apple computer, giving all this.

My mum saw RIGHT through him. She said let's go away and think about price. Up til then KONG, was lovely and friendly. As soon as we said this, his face dropped.

He offered us 25 per cent discount on 5 images for 399 quid.
Dont tell anyone else cos other people are paying full price.

We left and got home and googled all this and lo and behold, ive found this thread.

THEY ARE SCUM AND WRONG AND I HOPE THEY READ THIS LOUD AND CLEAR.

Im sorry for my bad grammar, i am soooooo angry as my daughters images better not be used anywhere or ill take legal action.

Oh and as for 00000000blue or whoever that is, why don't you do one?!?!?!

Yeah you do get a free photo shoot and blah blah blah, in a dirty studio, with a inexperienced photographer, with staff who have no care for these children.

You are not connected are you 000000000blue?????

LIAR!!!!!! Im angry and upset.

No one please buy into these fake nasty evil people.

Rant over.

Anyone know of Firefly studios in Bristol? I fear they may be part of the scam too.

Report
WetDogLovesHubert · 14/06/2016 16:31

Firefly studios are part of the scam - definitely. This is where M0del send their South Wales and Bristol (and surrounding areas) applicants to get suckered.

Director of Firefly Create, is Paul Steven Evans. He is also a director of Limitless Photography. He is also a director of NYC Studios... He and others have set up various bogus agencies, such as M0del & Blackberry, just to charge for overpriced portfolios. In 2003 there were similar types of crooked operators, exposed by BBC UK Worst, click/copy & paste: myspace.com/clivehurst/video/bbc-uks-worst-regardez-b-m-rondevous-2003/4887203 Sounds familiar?

Hi Aysmea, All they are trying to do... is frighten you! The law will be on your side, if they are stupid enough to take it to court. THEY will be liable for the court costs because THEY will lose. Send me an e-mail and I will get on the case... [email protected] These crooks think they can walk on water. They are sadly mistaken... They will be crushed in any court case. There is just so much evidence against them. I have seen it all before...

Will do Clive 👍🏻. Lol, just been going through the earlier posts on here and came across a photo of a 'Demand' letter from Limitless Photography....same letter layout, same address and same phone number as NYC Studios. Hmmmmmm....same 'company' by any chance!!

One victim has just copied me in to her response from her local MP:

"I should like to confirm that I have forwarded your correspondence to Nick Boles (BIS Minister) MP with a letter requesting that he investigate the case and advise accordingly. In addition, I have asked him to consider more generally what regulation could be implemented to protect consumers from such scams (like the licensing programme you suggest) and to address this wider issue. I am hopeful that my representations will produce a more satisfactory response than ones you have received previously. Of course, if you are displeased with the Minister's response I will then consider what further action we might take. I shall, of course, be back in touch with you as soon as I receive his response."

This is how to vent your anger. Just shouting about it - does no good. So do NOT get angry... Get even - with constructive action!

oh dear. I have just been there yesterday in Camden Town. they didn't ask me for money for portofolio but they did ask me £200 to be registered for copyright, and gave me pictures on a dvd, then they have emailed me a type of contract. and let my child have a online profile on their website. I have checked facebook account and it has 51 000 likes, so maybe I was a bit foolish. should I still go if they call me to do test shooting - but I am not going to give anymore money. I suppose they will ask me to go several times to some castings for free and then disappear?

Hi all. Just reading this and cant believe it. I have been to that agency last Sunday and as they sounded very credible, I paid them for the "portfolio". (Dont ask me how much). I can see they are doing this procedure for quite a while now? Is anybody from here happy to take action against them? I am fuming and nothing will stop me!!!xx

Hi all.
I'm just wondering if there is anyway in which money paid to m0del agencies can be retrieved? And if so do you contact the agency, or the photography studio?

Thanks

Thank goodness I googled this so called 'modelling agency' and found this, amongst other poor reviews/complaints.

15 year old DD replied to an instagram from them yesterday, saying they were looking for teens models. Had an email this morning saying they loved her look, congratulations etc. All the type of thing a 15 year old would love to hear. I rang them, thought it was strange that a moody woman answered the phone without mentioning the agency etc, but I asked for a test shoot date - this Friday it has been arranged for. I will now be cancelling it.

The same thing happened to me at w8 studios. They refused a refund so went outside the agency to warn other mums. I told them about my experience and told them they should read this blog. Five mums walked away with being scammed in an hour.
They called the police saying I was in their office smashing things up. They knew the police wouldn't come otherwise. When the police came they changed there statement saying I was bothering their customers. One customer came up to me while speaking to the police and said no she saved me! The police were lovely and advised me to seek citizen advice and put a report in at their fraud team. Awful awful human beings- please do not be fooled by these awful people.
One of the photographers also came out and was so rude (called me mother Theresa haha what a compliment) but when my husband got out the car he quickly went back into their hole of a studio.
Model agency uk needs to be stopped!
They also couldn't even name one company they work with.
