Hello All,
I applied for my son to join the modelling agency m0del (the O isn't a letter it's number zero) and he got selected. He his 5 month and 3 weeks.

I know I should of done the research beforehand however I can't find much info on the agency now and to find info is from the website only. Has anyone come across this website. I applied through Facebook.

Let me know Smile
Thanks
Nas

If you really want to help yourself and others, then e-mail me, at [email protected]

**(:^)

Hi CliveHurst

I have done as you asked for. I have sent you an email at [email protected] and also MP of my area, MP where studio is located, MP where Model Agency is located and officer of Employment Agency Standards Inspectorate. Let me know if i can be help of anything else in this matter.

Thanks

By the way, if you contact an MP, that is not your own local MP, you are unlikely to get any response. MP's will only make time/deal with their own constituents, which is not surprising...

But wouldn't it be a case that MP should be aware of that this kind of practices are going on in their area and they should do something about it to stop it. I believe as a responsible citizen if I come to know any illegal practices are going in my neighbors I shall report it to the responsible authority. I think any MP has got more responsibility than any common citizen and they must take preventive steps if they come to know about any kind of illegal practices in their area.

CliveHurst · 27/04/2016 19:37

If we lived in a perfect world.... I talk to MP's quite regularly. If it is not their constituent, who has agreed for you to talk to - their MP, the phone goes down and you are cut off...

CliveHurst · 27/04/2016 20:02

If you do e-mail your own MP, it is very important that you state your address, so that the MP knows you are a constituent. Without this, you may not get a reply. You should also provide a phone number, in case your MP wants to speak to you...

reliableforever · 27/04/2016 20:21

Yes, I have provided my address, email & phone number to them.

reliableforever · 28/04/2016 06:11

As mentioned on BBC website link here www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/article/11450178/new-rules-introduced-to-crack-down-on-scam-model-agents

I did got in touch with Employment Agency Standard Inspectorate and spoke to a lay over the phone. To my surprise her response was so dull. She just took my phone number & email address. I got in touch worth her again and she didn't had anything to answer me. I think for this kind of scam I can see people just warn each other but there isn't correct & effective implementation of law to recover money. I don't think it is a rocket science to even implement this kind of law or is just willingness of government authority required.

reliableforever · 29/04/2016 11:53

If anyone here has successfully claimed the money through legal actions then please do post here your experience so that others can take benefit of it.

Many Thanks

CliveHurst · 05/05/2016 12:55

I think it is a matter of not taking a case to court, rather than none success - at court. These tricksters rely on victims, doing nothing, except complain on line. Court cases are so easy to take, but people are put off doing this. Why? It is your money that these tricksters have taken. They are laughing all the way to the bank... :(

Well... I think you should all try 'The Thunderer' i.e. The Sunday Times, this weekend. It makes... very, very good reading!!! :)

I think people are concerned that they are also getting threatening letters from New York Studio's saying that they are going to send Baliff's round to their house if the don't pay their outstanding balance.

Zara374 · 07/05/2016 09:27

You can only send in bailiffs/enforcement agents if a court judgement was made in your favour. Scaremongery is what they do best. Send the letters to Clive is my suggestion. :)

PinkC123 · 08/05/2016 10:42

Fantastic piece written in today's Sunday Times. Just about sums up everyone's story to do with M0del. Brilliant!!

wheeze65 · 08/05/2016 21:55

My daughter Charlotte has been contacted by a solicitor who would like to lend her services, for free, to people trying to get their money back. Please send me a message and I will pass on her email address.

Let's hit these people where it hurts!

elephantoverthehill · 08/05/2016 22:04

My son had a lucky escape from this 'agency' he is a student and could have blown a lot of cash for nothing.

reliableforever · 09/05/2016 10:04

wheeze65 - I think you already mentioned that your daughter got her money back isn't it?

wheeze65 · 09/05/2016 12:38

Yes, I did. I can't type out in full at the moment but the information is within this thread.

wheeze65 · 11/05/2016 20:57

Please ignore my previous comment about the solicitor, the offer has been withdrawn.

reliableforever · 11/05/2016 22:40

Yes. I thought so because even I didn't had any response from solicitor. Thanks for letting us know.

wheeze65 · 12/05/2016 06:54

I don't think they realised the scale of the problem!

Zara374 · 17/05/2016 13:42

The website for EUMA has been closed down, I think by lawyer's acting for legitimate agency 'Elite' who was falsely claimed as a member of EUMA (European Union Model Agencies). Another nail in the coffin of M0del!

CliveHurst · 17/05/2016 16:23

EUMA was also being used by the previous bogus agency name of 'Adora Models', click: <a class="break-all" href="http://web.archive.org/web/20150312041548/www.euma.co.uk/agency/adora-model-management" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">web.archive.org/web/20150312041548/www.euma.co.uk/agency/adora-model-management

Paul Evans director of NYC Studios - has a lot to answer for... He is a fool if he thinks he can get away with - the same scam, different name - for ever!

NYC Studios are the only ones profiting from this scam, any fool can see this...
