I've got 3 kids (dd 5, ds1 2.1 & ds2 12 weeks) and i really dont think i bath them enough! The two older ones fight like cat and dog in the bath and then have a hissy fit about getting hair washed etc! I probably only bath the older ones twice or three times a week? am i a bad mother? How often do you all do the bath thing?

Every night but i only have one dd and she loves it. Must be a nightmare with three

merlin · 21/11/2006 20:40

DS1 is 6 DS2 19mths
Winter - alternate nights unless particularly grubby or have been swimming!
Summer - every night

hub2dee · 21/11/2006 20:40

I've only got one, so the pressure on the bath facilities is not the same, but we've always bathed our dd (who is now 16 months) every evening.

Once a week. It dries out the skin anyway & daily baths totally unnecessary IMHO.

Maybe I'm lazy......!

CrocodileKate · 21/11/2006 20:42

I used to bath them every night but since I have relaxed to twice a week their skin is much better. The mild excema they both had is completely clear.

madrose · 21/11/2006 20:43

depends on how much food she rubbed into her hair

agalch · 21/11/2006 20:43

Hi Ellenatal

I bath my 2 dd's every night before bed. They are both still in nappies and i like to have them washed properly and fresh for bed.I think sweaty heads need washing every day too.I wouldn't shower once or twice a week or i'd feel manky.

Dd's are 14 weeks and 2 yrs btw.

ellanatal · 21/11/2006 20:43

Oh thank god liath that someone does it even less than me! i do need to add that i dont let them go dirty - i just cant be arsed when they're not visibly dirty!
I do was$h the baby a bit more!

oh shit I am officially a slattern

once a week

dd 5
ds 2 (he gets a lot of washes, but not full baths)

helsy · 21/11/2006 20:45

Twice a week, feel I should do it once more than I do, but dd1 has eczema and the GP said once a week was enough!

DizzyBint · 21/11/2006 20:45

2 or 3 times a week, depending on how grubby she is. she's 6 months.

TheHighwayCod · 21/11/2006 20:47

less now they are older

TheHighwayCod · 21/11/2006 20:47

three times a week maybe

TheHighwayCod · 21/11/2006 20:47

ds1 cna shower himself

liath · 21/11/2006 20:48

I reckon too frequent bathing can lead to skin problems. dd has mild eczema and it's definitely worse if she has had daily baths. Hence the lazy approach!!

colditz · 21/11/2006 20:48

Used to do it every night, but now every 3 nights as boiler has packed up. Nobody has noticed, so I shan't bath them every night again!

NomDePlume · 21/11/2006 20:48

All of them have a bath every night. They are 4, 13 & 14.5. Sometimes the boys (the older 2) have showers but they always have one or the other every day.

bananaloaf · 21/11/2006 20:48

try for every night but sometimes evey second night

JackieNo · 21/11/2006 20:49

Couple of times a week, or even once. More if it's really necessary.

ellanatal · 21/11/2006 20:49

maltowers - can you send your dh round here - my dh hates it as much as i do! on the odd occasion he does it he spends the whole time shouting forty questions till i end up going in and doing it myself!
