I've got 3 kids (dd 5, ds1 2.1 & ds2 12 weeks) and i really dont think i bath them enough! The two older ones fight like cat and dog in the bath and then have a hissy fit about getting hair washed etc! I probably only bath the older ones twice or three times a week? am i a bad mother? How often do you all do the bath thing?

That's right kelly they don't need it. I suppose if you have the time and that like it then that's ok, but they certainly don't need it.

eidsvold - no I havent....only having one child (aged 29 months) so far. But I have had 2 years of extreme heat waves with one very sweaty son & very sweaty husband - neither of whom needed a bath every day. If we get a bit too sweaty then a quick wipe with a wet flannel works just as well to cool us down and saves a lot of time & money compared to a bath or shower.

DD is 4yo and now at school I just don't have the time for her to have a bath every night. She doesn't get particularly dirty anyway. She probably has a bath once a week, and a shower 2-3 times a week. So average every other night, but sometimes less frequent. Hair gets done each of these times. Every morning , when she goes in to clean her teeth, she has a wipe down with warm water and cloth - over hands, face and bottom.

DD didn't get bathed until she was 5ish weeks old having been on scbu for 4 weeks. Then we bathed her once or twice a week for 6 weeks or so then moved onto nightly baths, she is now 6.5 months. We don't put anything in the water and I use aqueous cream on her body and aveeno on her face afterwards. She really enjoys the bath and it's a nice time of day for us. Even if she has been tired and whingey downstairs once I or dp take her upstairs and lie her on the mat in the bathroom she gets happy and excited with anticipation.

Every morning and every night! DS is 19 mo and loves water so every morning he gets in the shower with me - this gives me a nice long shower option and prevents him from wandering round the bathroom trying to pull the toilet roll out.

At nighttime he gets a bath from his dad as part of his bedtime routine. Its not a cleanliness thing, tbh i'd only bath him every 2 days for that i just find he enjoys it so much its worht doing every day.
