I only leave mine with my Mum as all family live miles away and don't know the "locals" well enough.

If I lived closer, would happily leave with my SILs and (teenage) nephew.

PinkTulips · 02/11/2006 14:53

cod if you could find someone to take my kids you wouldn't see me for dust!

Not at all

She goes to creche twice a week, with my exMIL every Friday all day.

Sleeps over my mothers twice a month

And has been babysat by my cousin lots of times

But there are lovely, but sensitive souls on here

Who put their own parenting choices under the microscope enough as it is

TheDaVinciCod · 02/11/2006 14:55

oh dont be so uncharateritically resonable

Its the shock of finding out Franny is blonde

GunpowderTreasonAndSNOT · 02/11/2006 14:56

LOL at cod going all defensive

nailpolish · 02/11/2006 14:56

the happiest children i know are children who have an extended family (by this i dont just mean relatives i mean friends too)

the end

FrannyonFire · 02/11/2006 14:57

I am leaving ds with a 15 year old this weekend

I always said under 16 was too young for babysitting

but I think ds is sensible enough really, he just needs someone tall enough to reach the yogurts at the top of the fridge and help him wipe his bottom

other than that he would probably be ok by himself

TheDaVinciCod · 02/11/2006 14:58

i wasnt defensive?

I KNEW cod would defend herself after being called accused of being defensive

GunpowderTreasonAndSNOT · 02/11/2006 14:59

isn't it wonderful

FrannyonFire · 02/11/2006 14:59

Ooh it was good cod, I did start a thread

search for mini pumpkins in title

I must go, am off to collect ds from nursery, or whatever gutter it was I left him in

nailpolish · 02/11/2006 15:10

franny, why not just move the yoghurts down a shelf, pre-rip the bog roll and leave in a pile of squares (or use kandoo!) (no maybe not) and thenyou can do away with pesky babysitters

LOL
Whats a weirdo dance?!

NotActuallyAMum · 02/11/2006 15:18

One of my brothers and SIL wouldn't let anyone near their baby dd. As a result, she wouldn't go to anyone until she was well over 3yo. They learnt from their mistake though, when they had their ds they practically threw him at anyone who walked in the door!

I am just realising, I think our babysitter is actually 14

She is a daft one to boot

I love her dearly though and as long as she doesn't sell the house on eBay or something I am sure we will be fine

(I would not leave a baby with an under 16, I don't think, but this seems fine)

FillyjonkTheFireEater · 02/11/2006 18:35

oh hamg on, I do leave them with family though. and dp of course but thats hardly leaving them, he's their dad.

ah sod it, I'm enjoying dancing.
