I've got it on its folded down version because DS is only diddy, but it all wicks from the lining bit round the front... Am I doing something wrong? Is there any way to stop it folding forward a bit and wicking?

If not, I might have a nappy to sell you :(

No :( Waaaah!

And I've had to strip the bed to wash the nappy again :o

How's DS after his jabs?

TheFlameWhoWasAfraidOfTheJabs · 25/05/2006 11:44

Terrible - having to have clean bedding Wink!

He's out cold at the moment - Hopefully he'll stay like that for a few hours... DD is feeling a bit left out (dunno if she wanted to be jabbed too!)

SoupDragon · 25/05/2006 13:08

Its not the having to have clean bedding, it's having to stuff the sodding duvet into the over again. I always leave it, forget about it and then go to bed to find it unstuffed.

Wish the jabs had knocked BabyDragon out. They just made her (more) whingey.

I do that too... you end up going to bed later than normal (no idea why, but it always happens on sheet changing day), ready to collapse, and then see the bed :(

DD always does jabs by sleeping for the first 6 - 12 hours or so on and off, and then screaming the next 12 straight... I fully expect no sleep tonight.

(and yes, everyone tells me that all babies are different but I ain't convinced!!!)

MrsDoolittle · 25/05/2006 22:37

Have they arrived yet SoupDragon?

Hmmm - sorry to report that we had our first leak today from the bumgenius. The insert was absolutely soaking though when I took it off, despite the nappy only having been on for under 3hrs.

Suppose dd could have just weed (sp?) more than usual! Not giving up on them though as it's the first time we've had a problem.

MrsDoolittle · 26/05/2006 15:10

well we had an explosive bf poo in our bumgenius today and containment was excellent.
Still made a mess though, ds kicked it as I took it off then waved his legs all over me, his clothes, the mat......

FlameBoo · 26/05/2006 16:06

DS does a huge wee in the morning, and can only be in bamboozles at that time of day.

Just realised that he's been in his bumgenius for a very long time now, so its having a true test!!!

SoupDragon · 26/05/2006 16:40

Flame, guess what I did last night... went to bed late to find the duvet and cover sitting there seperately. Bah!

Nappies arrived this morning :) Postman stopped me in the road as I was driving out for the day to give me the parcels.

I have had a leak - DD seems to poo sideways so it eaked round the legs.

FlameBoo · 27/05/2006 11:26

I've just stripped mine now, so will be in the same situation tonight Grin

Is today the first full day in cloth???? We need a full report at the end of the day please. Wink

Its sad how excited I can be about someone else's nappies.... Blush

SoupDragon · 27/05/2006 12:03

Yep. I sat at the PC last might MNing and stuffing the nappies :o

Go and stuff the duvet cover now!! You know it makes sense :o (another thing we have in common is that I bought the stuff to make one of those Hempresto mats when I saw it on a leaflet back in March... never got roundto it though )

FlameBoo · 27/05/2006 12:13

I think I only got round to making it because I was on a roll that week with the sequin sewing. I need to get out the sewing machine so I can play with different designs, but that involves finding my diningroom, which involves getting off here Blush.

Gotta go get straight for DH's dad tomorrow, so I should have the space after that... DD is nagging me for her poncho too. Grin

SoupDragon · 27/05/2006 14:14

Hmmm... in order to set up my sewing maching I have to find my spare room...

FlameBoo · 28/05/2006 08:42

I went up to do the bedding when you told me to... got a phone call... 11.30pm last night, found the unmade bed!!!! Angry

SoupDragon · 28/05/2006 08:47

LOL!

SoupDragon · 01/06/2006 12:14

BTW - NappyMania did indeed send me 3 extra inserts rather than the changing mat and bag that I didn't want :)

Am now on Day 3 of BumGenius and pretty happy so far given the amount BabyDragon has been pooing. Still have to iron out my routine for storing the dirty ones and washing enough of them (although I think my machine has a "half load" option)

FlameBoo · 01/06/2006 12:35

Misread that - thought you were talking about ironing them!!!!!!!!! Grin

I tend to store them in my old nappy wrapper bucket, and wash them about every 3 days. I put them on a rinse cycle first to get rid of any poo, and then the proper wash.

SoupDragon · 01/06/2006 12:48

Ironing them??? I don't do any ironing at all and I'm not about to start ironing nappies :o

I've rinsed them under the tap and shoved them in a bucket which I've put in the downstairs shower (never gets used). I think I'll have to wash them every 2 days because DD has gone through them at record speed.

FlameBoo · 01/06/2006 13:48

She just wants to make sure they all get christened
Wink

janemw · 01/06/2006 16:06

First time I've posted, but wanted to say I'm glad to see the good comments about bumgenius. I have just bought one off ebay. (Think its the only secondhand one I've seen in the country!!!) Have been searching for a while. Now just need baby to be born to try it!

SoupDragon · 01/06/2006 16:11

My only concern about it is that DD feels quite clammy in it if the nappy is just wet. I'm not sure if she felt like this in a disposable or not.

FlameBoo · 01/06/2006 16:13

Are you using a liner in it? I still tend to use them regardless of if there is an integral one.

SoupDragon · 01/06/2006 16:16

I'm not because I don't have any but also because if they were disposable liners I'd have to faff about separating them to throw away.

FlameBoo · 01/06/2006 16:22

I just chuck em all in the machine and seperate them out later. Liners should stop the clammy... if you jst get a length of fleece and cut it into rectangles it will do the trick (do you have any tha you were going to do the hempresto thingy with?)
