I've got it on its folded down version because DS is only diddy, but it all wicks from the lining bit round the front... Am I doing something wrong? Is there any way to stop it folding forward a bit and wicking?

If not, I might have a nappy to sell you :(

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MrsDoolittle · 23/05/2006 12:01

I like the waffle

SoupDragon · 23/05/2006 12:22

Despite having a leaky one this am, I think I'm going for it... It's not bulky and it fits like a disposable with no faffing about (thinking ahead to when BabyDragon is in nursery (not for a while yet!! Unless she doesn't stop crying.)

SoupDragon · 23/05/2006 12:26

Shock have just ordered birth-to-potty pack from Nappy Mania. Eeek!

You just want me to buy more nappies don't you MrsD? Grin

I use normal babywipes for so many other things (DD's hands and face, spills, babysick on my top etc) it always seems too much faffing around to use reusable for bums.

I keep planning to get a little spray bottle and give it a go with my washed babywipes.

The tabs are as tight as they go (this little guy might have a big bum, but he has a teeny waist!). I'll wash tonight and play again tomorrow.

TheFlameWhoWasAfraidOfTheDark · 23/05/2006 12:40

Yay!!! Now you get to be all impatient waiting for it to come.

If I could work out what I'm doing wrong, then I will get a couple more because the whole idea of having them was to be easy for my friend.

SoupDragon · 23/05/2006 13:34

The advantage of the washable wipes is, I guess, that you just bundle them up with the nappy and wash the lot. However, I have an entire drawer full of BOGOF Huggies wipes :)

BonyM · 23/05/2006 15:05

The other thing I like about my washable wipes is that they are much thicker than disposables so I often just need one to deal with a pooey bum, rather than 3 or 4 disposables. Still use disposables when out and about though.

SoupDragon · 23/05/2006 15:46

Why aren't they here yet? I ordered them hours ago.

I was cheeky and said that I didn't want the mat or bag that came with the set and could they substitute them for extra inserts... :)

TheFlameWhoWasAfraidOfTheDark · 23/05/2006 20:51

Did they say yes?

I hadn't thought about just using reusable wipes for home... that sounds like more of a plan.

SoupDragon · 23/05/2006 20:56

They haven't said anything yet so I can hope :)

I have 2 packs of Ikea flannels that I planned to give to a friend who was adamant she was going to use washable nappies etc. I guess I should use them myself really, especially if I'm going to be tarting about washing nappies anyway.

MrsDoolittle · 23/05/2006 21:37

I hope it works for you SoupDragon Smile with cloth, that is.

Mine should be here in the morning. I can't wait.

Blush Ok that is quite sad

SoupDragon · 23/05/2006 21:38

I figured I could always sell them on at not much of a loss if it doesn't work out :)

Disappointed because I have nothing left to wash with the BG so can't use it tomorrow... Sigh.

MrsDoolittle · 23/05/2006 21:40

You'll have no problem selling them.

I have a few Motherease nappies that I don't use. I was thinking I wouldn't be able to sell them because they would be out of date.
It appears this is not the case atall.

If I sell them, I can buy more

SoupDragon · 24/05/2006 15:59

I think NappyMania are substituting extra inserts for the bag & mat - at least they said they'd send some on as they're out of stock at the moment.

TheFlameWhoWasAfraidOfTheDark · 24/05/2006 18:36

Grin I wouldn't have thought to ask them to do that.

My red wrap came today, so tonight is my first experiment with fleece....

TheFlameWhoWasAfraidOfTheDark · 24/05/2006 18:38

With the having nothing else to wash them with... I have been known to strip DH of his work whites so that I had something to wash my new nappies with!! Grin

Rach69 · 24/05/2006 19:22

Ha! I do the same to fill up a nappy wash with my dp's chef whites and ds2's karate gi!

SoupDragon · 24/05/2006 20:32

I managed to scare up enough pale colours to wash it today :) Hopefully the others will arrive tomorrow or I'll have to strip the bed which I hate doing to wash it with the bedding...

Must say that asking them to alter their pack isn't something I'd usually do but I really wouldn't have used the bag & mat and I can't bear wasting things. They seem a small friendly business which made me think I'd have more success than with a big company.

MrsDoolittle · 24/05/2006 20:52

My BumGenius nappies arrived today. It's great that they arrived so quickly. I picked them up at the post office and had to stop myself dashing into nursery to show them off when I picked dd up.

Anyway I am very impressed with the service from nappymania.

Flame. I have a Stacinator fleece wrap - I like it. Also check out the Stacinator 'so simple' wrap. I have two. Excellent if you want the comfort of fleece on babies legs but the waterproofness of PUL. I use them on my night nappies.

lua · 24/05/2006 21:14

Are you lot sure you don't work for bumgenious?!?!
I ended up ordering some for me too! I am upset that will have to wait a few weeks until I can get them, because I ordered in the US! How sad am I?

SoupDragon · 24/05/2006 21:17

Mine will arrive tomorrow. In two parcels :)

coudn't be ar$ed to order from the US in the end as I didn't want to wait :)

MrsDoolittle · 24/05/2006 21:34

Lua - it was that thought that stopped me bringing them into the nursery
I don't work for them FGS

lua · 24/05/2006 21:40

Well clearly they need to send some of you a few diapers as a thank-you!

You were wise soupy! But then, they were so much cheaper over there....

I want my now though! wahhh!

SoupDragon · 24/05/2006 21:41

I know, Lua. I had to balance the cost against my impatience though

TheFlameWhoWasAfraidOfTheJabs · 25/05/2006 11:37

The red wrap worked really well. I could do with getting a size 2 though because the 1 isn't quite deep enough in the reach, and although it fits his legs and waist well, it only just covers the nappy.

Yours arrived yet SD?
