I've got it on its folded down version because DS is only diddy, but it all wicks from the lining bit round the front... Am I doing something wrong? Is there any way to stop it folding forward a bit and wicking?

If not, I might have a nappy to sell you :(

I always preferred white for DD. Suddenly found a need for all shades and patterns for DS Grin

Ordered a woolybacks woolywrap last night - blue and green stripes :)

TheFlameWhoWasAfraidOfTheDark · 21/05/2006 21:12

Tonight we're on the interesting mix of a size 1 bamboozle with a size 2 kissaluv over the top - went to get him ready for bed, and his bamboozle was allbut dry, it seemed easier just to stick one over the top than take it off and booster! Grin

I started using cloth when DD was about 6 months, found and liked rainbow tots, and stuck with them until the last couple of months when I met the sister of the kissaluvs maker online, and tried out kissaluvs... this time round I'm being more adventurous and trying out others, going with the theory that I can sell them on fairly easily because for every nappy that doesn't suit me, someone else will love it.

SoupDragon · 21/05/2006 21:17

This is my first tentative toe-dipping into washable nappies. I'd like BabyDragon to be able to keep it on for more than 5 minutes before pooing in it though. It's spent more time in the washing machine than it has in use. Very impressed so far though.

I think I like the white because it looks all nice and clean. Did briefly consider making thin patterned knickers to go over the top but then came to my senses :o

Flame - we have a pink and purple striped Woolywrap which we use at night. It's lovely Smile.

TheFlameWhoWasAfraidOfTheDark · 21/05/2006 21:25

Blush Suddenly remembered why I liked white for DD - I didn't want the patterns to clash with her dresses!!! Grin And now I don't want DS in trousers so I can see his cool wraps!

BonyM · 21/05/2006 21:27

Actually, must buy another wool wrap as I don't like using a Rikki at night (have it in my mind that she will get too hot, although have no proof of this!) and I've had to put dd in a disposable tonight as my woolywrap is still wet after washing it yesterday.

SoupDragon · 21/05/2006 21:28

Put him in dresses then :)

Apparently, "Shipping 12 bumGenius! diapers to the UK would cost $33.75 via Airmail Parcel Post (4-10 business days) and $3.80 for insurance. Global Express Mail (3-5 business days) would cost $40.85."

Which makes the 12 pack of US BumGenius (in white) about £125 compared to around £200 for 15 UK ones... Hmmm.

BonyM · 21/05/2006 21:29

You know, this is very, very long for a nappy thread Grin.

SoupDragon · 21/05/2006 21:29

(plus whatever you get stung for by customs...)

BonyM · 21/05/2006 21:30

Ooh, that's a bargain Soupy.

Dh is going to New York in a couple of weeks, wonder if I could get some posted to his hotel...Grin.

SoupDragon · 21/05/2006 21:39

hehehe. I think it works out at around £15 incl VAT at 17.5% and duty at 12%.

Unfortunatly, the site I was looking at only has 3 white in stock and they're out of stock at the manufacturers too apparently.

SoupDragon · 21/05/2006 21:39

£150, not £15 obviously!

MrsDoolittle · 21/05/2006 22:35

This is the time of year when we all go mad over coloured wraps and nappies as this is the time we can show them off!! Smile If it stops raining, that is.

I find I'm thinking differently this time with ds though. I have loads of rainbow bots in both size 1 and 2, MEOS, a few slinki minkis (cute but NOT slinki - very bulky), and bumbles. Terry nappies are definitly the cutest for which reason I am hanging on to my unbleached tots and bumbles. However, they take a long time to dry and the coloured nappies will fade, especially with the essential hot washes! I can't believe a bamboozle is as cute Smile

There is alot to be said for going just white and I have been selling my coloured nappies, even my cutest pink size 1's. I think that even with the colours of the bumgenius I will stick with white.

Btw I get my microfibre cloths from Dunhelm - about 60p each, I think.

How many bumgenius nappies do I need? I really hope dd will be toilet trained soon and I have enough night nappies (although I might have to try a bamboozle) and I've got waffles coming....

Oh my sorry to go on. Dh just switches off when i start thinking aloud about nappies Smile

TheFlameWhoWasAfraidOfTheDark · 22/05/2006 09:46

Oooh, now the dresses idea is an interesting one... got loads sat here from DD Grin Why do I think DH might whinge a bit though????

DD was always in a disposable at night - I was short on pennies and only had rainbow tots and 1 white tots... the rainbows weren't big enough for me to be able to booster (HUGE bum without nappies anyway), and i couldn't afford any more whites. She is now in cloth bedwetter pants though, and she is more pleased than me!!! Never thought a toddler would actually want cloth over disposables.

MrsDoolittle · 22/05/2006 13:38

He's in the bumgenius again today. It fits sooo well. How many more shall I buy?

expatinscotland · 22/05/2006 13:41

Flame
We're switching DD1 to cloth training pants. She doesn't feel wetness w/the disposable ones, which doesn't help training along. This rental flat is wall to wall carpet except for the kitchen and bath, and there's no garden, so letting her run around w/no bottoms on really isn't an option.

The bonus is that we can hopefully use them for DD2, too, when the time comes.

MrsDoolittle · 22/05/2006 13:43

I need to put dd in training pants. Which ones are you going for?

expatinscotland · 22/05/2006 13:44

I've got some Bummis coming from the US! Only $10.00 each! I got 4 and my mum got some for her, too.

She's okay w/the poo, she can tell us when that's coming.

It's the wee that she just doesn't register.

SoupDragon · 22/05/2006 17:36

the BumGenius has converted me. All I need to decide is where to get them from...

TheFlameWhoWasAfraidOfTheDark · 22/05/2006 18:53

I don't know price differences, but the natural baby resource have always been really good to me - both help and their service.

Think I've cracked it with the bumgenius today Grin

expatinscotland · 22/05/2006 18:59

The Lidl microfibre cloths 3 for £2.49 are excellent folded in half as boosters!

MrsDoolittle · 22/05/2006 19:55

I'm also very impressed with the BumGenius. I am going to get some too. That natural baby resource you say?

SoupDragon · 22/05/2006 20:06

UK Google only throws up Nappymania and the Natural Resource (apart from Ebay)

SoupDragon · 22/05/2006 20:11

Both are £15 but nappymania has a packof 15 plus changing mat plus dirty nappy bag for £199 and the natural resource has the 15 plus 15 washable wipes for £215. But, the Nappy Mania ones don't seem to have a BumGeniums logo tag and the Natural Resource ones do and come in the colours too.

SoupDragon · 22/05/2006 20:11

Not that I've been checking.
