too tired of poo to talk about it

MrsDoolittle · 01/06/2006 21:36

Since this morning. We have had a wee on the floor - it's a stone floor, so not too bad. A wee in the living room.
We were out gardening and she ran to the toilet, but for nothing.
Later we were up in her room and she was playing on the floor, got up to go to the potty. Left the poo on the rug!! Smelt very bad.
Outside again this afternoon and she sat herself on the potty and did another wee. She's so chuffed with herself, she does it just for kisses now. I suggested we kept it there for daddy to see but dd insisted we must pour it down the toilet Smile So we settled for just telling Daddy.

I can't remember exactly how many we have caught or missed today, all days are becoming one now.

Anyway, I guess it's just a matter of getting into the habit.

Well done everyone Smile

and you MrsD....

Tiring isn't it?

I'm knackered.

Decided to keep all 6 kids in today (well as in no expeditions) to try and work on ds. Got him up, and talked about the potty all downstiars, where he did a nice big wee for a sticker. Then all morning he'd start weeing, stop, cry 'potty' and then finish on the potty. So I gave him a sticker as he stopped then started again, but was rather miffed at the weeing on the floor. Also had a poo in pants episode (urgh) as I predicted, as he always tells us after.

So how shocked were dh and I when chatting at lunch in the kitchen, we notice ds has gone and got the potty, brought it in and done a HUGE poo on it! Without even telling us! I wanted to photograph it myself but dh told me I'm just too chuffed with him lol.

Then all afternoon he did a few wees and another TWO poos, all by himself. He fell asleep on the sofa so I did put him in a nappy (I know bad bad but I still have no care mats or anything) and woke him up for dinner, he wasn't quite awake bless him and half way through just started sobbing... I realised he'd wet himself but he was inconsolable and really ashamed.

Then tonight we've had another two wees on the potty (I think we mostly prompted with bribes of stickers!) so.. in total... 4/5 accidents (inc poo urgh) 12 stickers and two brief stints in a nappy (dh put him in one for a walk but he didn;t go in it) so overall I'm quite pleased. He does tire of the stickers quite easily, but then regains enthusiasm later..

MrsD it's knackering isn't it. Trying to entertain others while keeping one eye on whether they're hopping clutching their crotch!

And Mars.. only admiration from me here! Doing two must be just terrifying. Well done to dt1 today though!

Off to buy some LadyCod approved stickers Grin

MrsDoolittle · 01/06/2006 22:01

That's phenomenol Lunavix!!!! You must be soo proud.

dewmeadow · 01/06/2006 22:02

that's amazing Luna! Well done!

MarsLady · 01/06/2006 22:04

I'm really looking forward to next week when Ann at their playgroup can share the load (pardon the pun!) iykwim. I've never been so tired (well apart from the continuous breastfeeding at the beginning, the constant nappy changes, the ongoing mopping up of dribble, drool, sick..... oh hang on..... no change here then!) Grin

MarsLady · 01/06/2006 22:05

Forgot. I meant to start my post

Well done luna Grin Your success keeps me going (no pressure there then!)

lunavix · 01/06/2006 22:06

lol Mars, plans for anymore to follow? Grin

I'm really chuffed with him.. but at the same time the day seems to have gained an extra 4 - 6 hours in it suddenly.

MarsLady · 01/06/2006 22:10

Tell me you're joking luna or I cannot be held responsible... lol

Trust me! If I had any intention of having more, having twins stopped that right in its tracks.

I never want to ever potty train again in my life.

In fact I remember when I found out that it was twins one of my first thoughts was... how on earth am I going to potty train 2? Finding out the hard way lol

lunavix · 01/06/2006 22:13

Oh dear lol :)

btw I did bribe with lemon drizzle today! I've followed many lemon-drizzle threads but as I don't have a cake tin I've never made it.. decided to make muffin-sized ones yesterday evening (your mix makes a perfect 24 Grin ) and my houseful of gannets have eaten the lot! Not impressed but ds was rather chuffed sitting on the potty with one today!

Chuffed · 02/06/2006 09:52

We've been quietly quietly plugging along using the techniques. Using soft jubes for bribes for wees and a malteser for poos. Today we had our first completely out and about day, no nappies, no accidents with trousers and undies for her to pull down. I did have to remind dd a few times but feel that she isn't my baby anymore. She was getting too confused with me putting nappy and pants on depending on the circumstances so very bravely I went nappyless to playcentre and it was fine.
I think we have cracked it on the potty just need to work on the toilet now.

hunkermunker · 02/06/2006 09:54

What do you do if your child refuses point blank to sit on the potty or the toilet?

I am fascinated by potty-training threads in a moth to a flame kind of way. DS1 doesn't share my enthusiasm, shall we say!

Marsy...ohh...hats off!

LadyCodofCOdford · 02/06/2006 09:55

you giev them sweets

hunkermunker · 02/06/2006 09:57

Oh, this is a bit of a Blush revelation for me...he doesn't know what sweets are...

So he has to learn what sweets are before he'll go on the potty?!

Or do I train him using wotsits or smug mummy goodies crisps?

He has never responded to bribery yet though.

LadyCodofCOdford · 02/06/2006 09:57

(eye rolliong)

LadyCodofCOdford · 02/06/2006 09:57

laetr dudettes

hunkermunker · 02/06/2006 10:11

Knew you'd be impressed...!

poppyh · 02/06/2006 10:34

no sitting on potty so far today.Sad
Already cleaned up 2 wees and poo in knickers!
Nevermind, she'll learn!

Normsnockers · 02/06/2006 10:38

Wow, impressive progress from almost everyone !

Ds had two accidents yesterday but is now taking himeself to the mini toilets at nursery and pulling pants etc down and back up afterwards.

Still won't poo in the toilet and likes to find a quiet corner to strain for a poo so wee happens at the same time.

Any suggestions for encouraging a poo in the toilet ? We have offered to buy him a special toy that he covets but it doesn't seem to be working at the moment.

MarsLady · 02/06/2006 10:39

When you get back LadyCod you'll find DT2 sat, wet on your doorstep. I cannot get that boy to pee in his potty. He'll sit there then jump up and pee beside it. Gah!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nothing from DT1 yet, apart from a puddle in the kitchen when I was upstairs. Sigh.......

However, am keen to build on yesterday's success so here goes!

Normsnockers · 02/06/2006 10:40

P.S. ds doesn't like sweets only solid chocolate (not even maltesers type sweets).

poppyh · 02/06/2006 10:50

My stickers are here!!That was quick, and now suddenly DD WANTS to sit on her potty!!
Maybe, just maybe!!

wanderingstar · 02/06/2006 11:29

Another massive wee in the potty first thing (and tiny poo). Was hoping for more poo before he went to nursery at 9am (he goes twice a week) but nothing !! He's regularly a morning pooer, so...
Dreading pickup time; I'll doubtless be given a very stinky bag of pants/shorts Sad
