  2. imo the best age ie 2 - 2.5
  3. there is NO going bakc
do not start if oyu are going ot poof out
  1. remmeber it is hard work - hence hte training - yes life will be more difficult for a couple of weeks
  2. do NOT use pull ups for day time naps or anythin short of a 2 hour journey
  3. night training is a wholey seperate issue

melsy · 11/04/2006 15:41

still no poo today , but shes wowing me by going to potty whenever she needs wee, which is half the battle eh.

Spose all I can do is talk to her about doing poos in potty /loo????? Although were not liking the loo now, even though Ive spent weeks finding her on there with her trainer seat.

Been cooking all day to do something to stave off boredom, havent cooked like this in months and months dd loved squishing salmon in her hands. Think Im getting to my nesting stage.

Latz · 11/04/2006 15:53

Thanks needed to be told :)

She'll probably last til bedtime now so will have to bribe and at least see if she does one on the loo then!

PiccadillyCircus · 11/04/2006 15:53

Have been looking back at the last potty training thread and discovered that I really started with DS around the beginning of February so he was 26 months or so.

It took him much longer to sort out pooing than weeing - I am glad I found out that is normal otherwise we would probably have stopped. He does need reminding sometimes but generally will say "I need the potty" or start undressing when he does need to go.

And there was a lovely big poo done in the potty a few minutes ago - SO much nicer than in nappy or pants Smile.

SO what I am saying is don't be discouraged if things aren't going well at first; give it a week or so and it gets much better Smile.

And it is so nice only having one in nappies now (and she is 6 months so can stay in them for a while Grin)

looneytune · 11/04/2006 16:09

PMSL Grin - ds just got really upset as was touching his willy and it grew which freaked him out. Started crying saying he didn't want his willy getting bigger Grin

Latz · 11/04/2006 16:17

bless :o

puff · 11/04/2006 16:24

All wees in loo - one poo half in pants and half in loo lol

I am also doing loads of cooking to stave off boredom

Kittypickle · 11/04/2006 17:35

3 wees & 1 poo on floor, 1 in potty. Is this terrible or fairly normal for day 1 ?

alittlebitshy · 11/04/2006 17:38

don't panic kitty pickle!!!!

my worry is that on day 2 we're putitng her on frequently, and she is sitting for ages! is that ok or should we be cutitng it short, ie no wee, get off? right now she is with dh in living rpoom watching some tv on potty... how bad?

alittlebitshy · 11/04/2006 17:42

but so far 4 hits, 1 miss, no poos at all since started training. and still taking her rather than her asking.

that's me for now, over and out (til i next wander past)
Grin

Pruni · 11/04/2006 17:56

No poos but am on to 8th pair of pants. i count 5 wees in the potty and a lot of full-on tries.
dh home in a minute thank god.
i need a stiff drink.

puff · 11/04/2006 18:00

fairly normal kitty - ds1 went through loads more pants on day 1 than ds2 is - he just seems to have clicked quite quickly, but this is my second attempt - tried 4 months ago and abandoned it because we weren't getting anywhere.

Ds1 got the hang of things by day 3 IIRC and we had cracked it within a week.

Keep going!

alittlebitshy · 11/04/2006 18:18

we think dd just asked to go on potty (and did a small wee), but we're not sure if she knew she needed to go or if she wanted to get away from dinner table!!!!

hoping it is the former Wink Grin

Latz · 11/04/2006 18:59

Day 2

Nothing not a sausage where it should be just wees and poos in pants and after sitting on loo just now has just weed in bath.

AAAAAARGH :(

Still I won't give in, she knows exactly what she's doing.

looneytune · 11/04/2006 19:15

Day 4 - 4 wees on potty (2 started in pants but got there before too much damage done), 1 wee in pants/on carpet, 1 poo in pants.

Much better than yesterday so for those who feel like giving up, as COD says, DON'T!!!

After 3 hits and 8 misses (1 was poo) yesterday I felt like it just wasn't going to happen but look at the difference. Obviously would have preferred no misses but still, happier than yesterday :)

Passionflower · 11/04/2006 19:23

Day 2 at casa Passionflower

wee in pants 2
wee in potty 1
poo in potty 1

Definitely think she is getting the hang of it quicker this time. We all keep chanting "where do you wee - in the potty! Where do you poo - in the potty!"

However we are going to uber posh health club tomorrow morning for DD's 1 & 2 to try tennis and I am wavering about pants for the expedition.

Coddy, can I compromise and put nappy over pants so she still gets the wet feeling without the mess?

cod · 11/04/2006 19:23

kitty totally normal

cod · 11/04/2006 19:23

passion me too " ehre do we do wees? on the ( frigging) loo"

Heathcliffscathy · 11/04/2006 19:45

right, final tally: one accident involving pee and poo in pants.

one pulling down own pants and peeing in potty while i was cooking

rest in loo or potty at my instigation.

do you think it's worth letting him decide when tomorrow cod? i feel like if i keep hassling him he won't get that he has to tell me when he needs to go.

TopBanana · 11/04/2006 19:45

Day 3
1 accident at nursery, all other wees in toilet and potty. No poo.
I can't believe how well its going. Since we've been back shes been using the potty without me asking Grin

Heathcliffscathy · 11/04/2006 19:47

am expecting it to be much much worse tomorrow btw.

alittlebitshy · 11/04/2006 20:00

me too sophable1!!! kepe thinking it's gonna be awful.

i knew it wasn't going to be magic but i am so frigigng impatient, and getting so grumpy.

I was wondering about whther to tell her to go when wants, but think she not ready... hopefully by end of week 1??

COD - what have we meant to have achieved when we get to the end of week one???>

wessexgirl · 11/04/2006 20:14

Day 5... one wee accident (because she doesn't like the downstairs potty and insisted I fetch the upstairs one...by which time...oops!) and one poo accident which she came and told me about in a conversational kinda way.

I think the poo thing is going to be harder to crack than the weeing, which is good now. At least it's only once a day.
