right

  1. this is for any kid over hte age of 2
  2. imo the best age ie 2 - 2.5
  3. there is NO going bakc
do not start if oyu are going ot poof out
  1. remmeber it is hard work - hence hte training - yes life will be more difficult for a couple of weeks
  2. do NOT use pull ups for day time naps or anythin short of a 2 hour journey
  3. night training is a wholey seperate issue

cod · 11/04/2006 13:36

Looney well done!
i think maybe your ds is getting used to holding on
ds3 deffo did here and woudl wait for quite a while quite soon in to training
so why not if you are in this after noon tell him you will let him go when ehe feels hi swilly is ready ( ask him how it feels juts before he wees adn if he can rememrb t hat feeling and hten race ( prehaps doing a police car "wee-wa" to show it is an emergency?)

melsy · 11/04/2006 13:38

yes unfortunately cod, we had lots of poo all over carpet and chair last few weeks when she woke up with it and tried to sort herself out.

thats odd isnt it

melsy · 11/04/2006 13:43

yer drove us mad 6am in morning. As she isnt ready to do them on loo or potty I can only summise that shell poo during nap time, although naps are few and far between these days.

Heathcliffscathy · 11/04/2006 13:44

6 wees in loo/potty but one accident....which was the poo! :( in pants.

cod · 11/04/2006 13:45

6?

show off

:)

looneytune · 11/04/2006 14:21

Great idea Cod Grin will try that :)

What about poos? He's been wanting one since I pressed 'post' on last message. He's sitting on potty and trying (even said he could have a small easter egg if he achieved a poo, only poo in potty or toilet). He ended up with a needing to be wiped but not actually a result :( Maybe it's because he's used to pooing standing up???? I have had it suggested to ask if he wants a nappy just to quickly poo in then take it off but I'm going with the NO NAPPIES/PULL UPS except for bed time!

Please help if you have any suggestions.

so far, four wees in potty
and five pairs of wet pants, but one pair I now see is due to sitting on sofa near a leaking juice cup.
told me about 4 of those pairs.
but can't tell me beforehand, it seems.
massive problems earlier to get him on the potty/loo, culminating in ds smacking me so hard in the face that i shouted at him the loudest i ever have in his life.
made up, did wee on loo, friends again.
now sleeping, haha...we'll see what it brings

ds now poos in his sleep in the pm - since the clocks went back, and his bowel rhythm hasn't caught up (??)
hopefully not today...

Pruni · 11/04/2006 14:24

PS I am feeling rather highly strung now...
need a large cocktail

cod · 11/04/2006 14:26

DONt start iwht pooing in a nappy

cod · 11/04/2006 14:26

Pruni · 11/04/2006 14:29

good that it's normal

he seems quite upset though, is that normal too?

looneytune · 11/04/2006 14:50

So much for that - great big puddle of wet on carpet :( Never mind, still better than yesterday!

alittlebitshy · 11/04/2006 14:52

i keep shouting at her (not potty related) and feeling so bad about it. hate being cooped up

cod · 11/04/2006 14:53

LadySherlockofLGJ · 11/04/2006 14:55

cod · 11/04/2006 14:55

meysey · 11/04/2006 15:05

nothing ventured nothing gained eh... 2 hours of first non-nappy nap and he woke up dry! I won't get all smug yet, bit there is light at the end of the tunnel

Latz · 11/04/2006 15:11

Hi folks

Not going well, 4 pairs of wet pants and a pooey pair - dh let her go upstairs and hide while i wasn't looking!

She was having mega strops going to sit on the loo this morning and seems to be getting frustrated and angry saying she doesn't want to do potty training!

Take it the message is still to sink in?

Although last time she wet, she started to come towards me in the loo - 2 secs after her saying she didnt need a wee!

Need some advice - am I doing it right? Need Cod to moan at me i think :o

looneytune · 11/04/2006 15:15

POO AT LAST - in his pants though [crying emoticon] boo hoo

Bless him, said sorry mummy, really sorry, please don't be cross. I gave him a hug and said not to worry but that he couldn't have his egg - he understood, although disappointed of course.

LadySherlockofLGJ · 11/04/2006 15:16

I think it is really cute, and have visions of a horde of teenies toddling off down to your house Cod, with their potties strapped to their back and their nappies at the end of a stick ala Dick Whittington.

MrsBadger · 11/04/2006 15:24

lol LGJ!
I had a slightly more military-boot-camp vision - squads of nappy-free toddlers jogging round a parade ground singing that US marching cadence: 'if you need to do a poo, here is what you have to do...'
