  2. imo the best age ie 2 - 2.5
  3. there is NO going bakc
do not start if oyu are going ot poof out
  1. remmeber it is hard work - hence hte training - yes life will be more difficult for a couple of weeks
  2. do NOT use pull ups for day time naps or anythin short of a 2 hour journey
  3. night training is a wholey seperate issue

i have never been so glad for dd to go to bed as i have this week. I've been gritting my teeth and just praying for time off. lol. so intense isn;t it?

looneytune · 15/04/2006 20:03

Well done everyone who is having success. To the rest of you, seriously HANG IN THERE!!!

Day 7 end result (yesterday):

7 wees in potty (all himself going to kitchen and then shouting to let us know!)
1 poo on potty
3 wees on toilet
1 wee accident (when having mad tickle fight with dh, so not surprised)

Day 8 end result:

2 wees on toilet
2 wees on potty
1 accident (wee)
1 poo on potty

We were out from 1pm to 7pm and no accidents!!! He went in potty at friends house (won't use toilet without the softie seat) and the rest of the time we were walking in the woods/at the pub. Very proud of him.

He no longer gets rewards for wees. Just poos.

QUESTION

I once heard on MN about a fold up seat that goes on the toilet - portable! This sounds cool but I don't know where I can find one. Anyone able to help?

looneytune · 15/04/2006 20:07

Oh, starting typing this earlier and just read recent posts - sorry but PMSL at the poo on lap. Not nice but I'm sure you'll laugh about it when you look back eh Wink

Hi everyone.
Day 8
NO accidents today at all. I was really proud of her as she's telling me when she wants to go. It seemed to just click yesterday what was expected of her. Only one accident yesterday and that was because she was playing and too excited to know that she needed to wee (she did hold when i said hold it). Anyway, just be patient, it will click in when they realise what was expected of them. By the way, i gave her no treats just praise.
Good luck all

looneytune · 16/04/2006 09:24

I'm bloody furious! Angry

Popped downstairs at 9am so could do the easter bunny thing, then was supposed to go back to bed as it's my turn for a lie in.

Anyway, asked dh if ds had had any success on the potty/toilet this morning and he said 'he's got a pull up on until he has a poo' Shock

I am soooooooo Angry you wouldn't believe. I've had a right go at him and his excuse was ds wouldn't wear pants. I asked WTF is in charge???

Mummy goes upstairs and less than 5 mins later, ds is in pants and had a wee on potty.

Has anyone else got an idiot for a husband??? He even knew the bootcamp rules and had heard stories of Cod expelling people for things like this!

Sorry, just had to RANT!!!!

cod · 16/04/2006 11:35

oh that is so a TYPIcal srtory!

men sheesh

blueteddy · 16/04/2006 12:28

I am popping back on here for advice on this poo problem we have.
I know it is meant to be common for boys to take longer to get to grips with the poo side of things & I must have just been lucky with DS1, but it has been around 2 months now & it is such a struggle.
He seems to wait until I put his pull up on for bed before he poos & was sent home from nursery on Thursday because he was sceaming with tummy pain. I think these tummy pains are due to the fact he is holding his poo in & I am not sure how to handle it. If I tell him off he will probably get more anxious & hold it in more, but if I ignore him it is just going to continue.
HV came out with the "You don't get a 21 year old who is still pooing themselves" line.
I told her that she obviously had never come across some of H's mates when very drunk!!
Anyway, what do you suggest for this poo problem?

cod · 16/04/2006 12:30

id trya nd bin the night time nappies
take him tot he tloo when you go and show him you pooing and talk abotu the size fo your poo( boys are very competitive)
s ticker chart for pooing?

blueteddy · 16/04/2006 12:33

Bin the night time nappies?Shock Oh blimey! DS1 was 4 before I managed to tackle the dry night bit!
Sticker chart might be worth a try.
Thanks.Smile

Hi everyone Day 7 and Easter day has come just in time here.

Have had a dry clean day here. DD will be bribed with easter chocs Grin.

Heard her yell "mummy done wee wee", from her cot this morning, however when I went to her it was only a little bit wet so put her on the potty and she finished. She was quite upset that she'd weed in her nappy.

I think she'll go dry at night quite soon.

I'm feeling much happier about things today.

Passionflower · 16/04/2006 18:37

blueteddy cod is right about night.

DD1 has only just gone dry at night aged 5.
DD2 was super, dry at night straight away.

Twirl · 16/04/2006 19:17

Hello
I have just had 2 days of potty training DD (just 2 years old) and desperately need advice. She will happily wear knickers, we have sat her on potty every 20 minutes even when she protests (but nothing happens), we have had 2 days of weeing/pooing on floor and knickers, doesn't appear to want to do it on the potty or toilet at all, but yet she tells me when she has done one on the floor. She doesn't seem interested in getting to the potty at all or seem to have enough bladder control to get there. Should I abandon it as she is too young? I am due with DS in 3 months and have SPD to all this crawling on the floor is agony but on the otherhand how hard will it be with a newborn and is 2.6 too late to train a girl? Any thoughts appreciated. Sorry for long post. x

looneytune · 16/04/2006 19:18

Day 8

5 wees on potty
1 wee on toilet
no poos today which is odd but best of all NO ACCIDENTS Grin

Dh has apologised for putting a pull up on this morning and knows he'll be kicked out if he ever does it again!!! Grin

looneytune · 16/04/2006 19:19

BTW, choccy rewards have stopped for wees but will continue for poo (for now)
