  3. there is NO going bakc
do not start if oyu are going ot poof out
  1. remmeber it is hard work - hence hte training - yes life will be more difficult for a couple of weeks
  2. do NOT use pull ups for day time naps or anythin short of a 2 hour journey
  3. night training is a wholey seperate issue

another potty one. prompted by me and me getting her to stay a few seconds longer than wanted, but... wooooooo. already better than yesterday!!!

Latz · 13/04/2006 16:37

Going well so far.

3 wees in potty - the last one I had popped out to garage for a second and when I came in she had weed in the potty herself - then demanded 3 choccy buttons!!

LadySherlockofLGJ · 13/04/2006 16:39

Stick with it LBS it will be worth it.

cod · 13/04/2006 17:30

Kitty pickel you are expelled

alittlebitshy · 13/04/2006 18:28

3 out of 4 (huge bladder) in potty so far. and the last 1 she told me before hand. woohoo. my mum reckons that the reason dd keeps starting wee, and saying finished then doing it later is that she has not learnt about opening the right valve, letting it start, then carrying on with flow. make any sense? any tips?

Latz · 13/04/2006 18:58

Day 4
3 wees in potty, one she started and got there in the end and has just gone in the bath after sitting on potty for 5 mins. No poo.

Much better - am waiting for the rebellion to start!!

alittlebitshy · 13/04/2006 19:02

had a few people tell me that if you have hassle they're not ready and you should wait for them to do it themselves. am i doing the wrong thing forcing the issue?

Kittypickle · 13/04/2006 19:34

Can I come back if I get them and don't use them please ? :o I am only going to use them if they are really similar to normal pants so he can't tell the difference. It's just I think the excitement of starting nursery might get a bit much and I have visions of him weeing all over the place which I'm not sure will go down well on the first day back after Easter, so they might expel me as well Wink

alittlebitshy, I had a nightmare with my DD who I later found has dyspraxia, hypermobility & hypotonia (not suggesting for one second you should think that there is anything wrong with your DD) I know how really hard it is when things don't go well, but it will improve. I'm far from an expert but I think the fact that she does start is a very good sign and she will at some point learn to learn to relax her bladder muscle properly. I think it probably feels much stranger when you wee sitting on a potty after being in a nappy, feel more exposed and I would think that when she feels this she tightens up her muscle again. That could be my usual rubbish so feel free to totally ignore it ! But rest assured you will not still be doing this when she is 18 even though it feels like it at the moment. Hang in there.

alittlebitshy · 13/04/2006 19:46

sorry to be a whinger everyone:)

cod · 13/04/2006 19:57

well some poeple say that

alittlebitshy · 13/04/2006 20:04

she is ooooold :). she'll be 3 in may. which is why i am doing this NOW.

yeah i know, while she is not finding it easy it is me finding it hard.

3 out of 4 wees in potty and poo in pants today, so not that bad really.

cod · 13/04/2006 20:05

oh GOD then

yopua re nO way giving up

alittlebitshy · 13/04/2006 20:09

lol i know!!!!!!!!!!!

knat · 13/04/2006 20:16

just wanted to reassure everyone this intake. My dd is now 21/2 and we've potty training for 3 months (yes !!!) was in cod's last intake. This week we have now had 6 days of no accidents and when i ask her if she needs a wee she will say yes and sit on potty and perform! This is fantastic as i've had 3 months of hit and miss (if u pardon the pun!) although she's been brilliant when we've been out and had no accidents during those 3 months when we've been out. So i knew she had the control it was just getting her to do it where she needed to. The majority of people said oh she's too young, leave her she's not ready, but my instincts were that she would be like that whenever i did it and just perservered and i'm now glad i have. I just hope this isn't a flash in the pan(!) and it's really ont he road to being traiend!!! Good luck everyone.

alittlebitshy · 13/04/2006 20:19

your puns are too much Grin
thanks, that helps. my gut instinct is to keep going, my pain thresholding is nearing but i must override it lol.

where were you within the first few weeks in terms of progress?

Passionflower · 13/04/2006 20:28

We have had a triumphant day at casa Passionflower today.

Wee in potty 4
Wee accidents 0
Poo in pants 1

I can't believe it, no wee on the floor today! Well almost, DD2 has a water infection and has had loads of accidents. But, I have been allowing her to use the potty (we don't have a downstairs loo) and rewarding her so I think that this has encouraged DD3.

ninaar · 13/04/2006 20:33

Hi all
day 6 here. so far today was much better with only 2 misses one of it holding her potty (she only actually wees/poos in loo but likes to put her toy kitty on it 'to teach her')
she told me twice that she needed to wee and actually held till she was on the loo. so its going well so far

melsy · 14/04/2006 08:49

Wasnt to bad being out yesterday , although she kept on asking to go to the toilet, I think she saw it as a game.

One accident in jeans, shame really , as at home she seems to know when she needs to go. Was a good test for her being away from potty, hopefully she didnt like being wet and may think more about telling u she needs to go.

Lbs, sounds like things are getting better hey.

alittlebitshy · 14/04/2006 09:28

feeling more positive today (day 5 - whoah!!).

she's been so so sweet, telling me she's a big girl and that she's going to lok after me and kiss me and cuddle me, so she can't be too traumatised?!

when i took her night nappy off it was fuller than i've ever kown it. do you think she saved it all up????? should i be concerned?? or will this gradually abate!

nothing so far, but the last 2 days have seen nothing til about 11, so....

melsy · 14/04/2006 09:41

Im assuming your making her drinks loads? Do you have a reward chart , treats for anything done in loo or potty albs??? abreviating your name I realise is my dd's nick name, how spooky!!

alittlebitshy · 14/04/2006 10:20

she won't drink loads.... won't drink more than she normally does... grr.

puff · 14/04/2006 10:23

Well done everyone - seems to be going well overall.

Ds2 is going to the loo on his own now, with a roar of "I need a wee!" I just go in and check it's hi the right spot and supervise handwashing to prevent floods. Poos are still a bit hit and miss - some in pants, sometimes he gets to the loo in time.
