Notgrownupinmyhead · 09/12/2012 22:05

I cant remember but we came up with some right daft things. Its really sore even round my poop shoot. Shock

Pussypads? I hate that name for a Fanjo. Haha FanjoFluff??

99p?!?! Bargain! You go PP. I got myself a Lifft sling for £12 BN the other day, its meant to not hurt as much and am expecting bugs and that soon so will need it! I Envy a good bargain.

Notgrownupinmyhead · 09/12/2012 22:24

He he Ive got DS1 using fluff on his teddies. We play babies, its cute bless him.

LeBFG · 10/12/2012 07:11

Pidj Envy at your outrageous bargins!!!!

Blue - DS was just like that day and night! I never let him down either and he never suffered runs away from me at top speed and loves dh/dog more than me. Lotta is a really sweet name btw. Slings can be bitches for backs though, so watch out.

How's J this morning VQ. Hope things are looking up Brew.

Grrr L is such a heavy wetter due to the very regular feeds :(
On our second nappy change and complete outfit change due to leaks.
I'm boosting with 1 microfiber and 1 bamboo... Anything else I can use? Hemp, charcoal? I really want this to work, but atm feeling down again as it won't work out cheaper with all the extra washing on top...

PurplePidjChickIsNotTheMessiah · 10/12/2012 15:07

R can't out-pee a doubled up folded prefold in a pocket, try that? Quite bulky but that's not really a problem on an immobile new born. I reckon by the time he gets to rolling/crawling, the bulk will be in proportion with his size anyway though. Even the bigger size i haven't needed yet Xmas Smile

Little Lambs and Lollipops fitteds with Mio or ME Rikki wraps are bomb proof, too

ValiumQueen · 10/12/2012 17:37

Silver lining of wall to wall vomiting is the nappies are not so full

DD2 a bit better. Last night was a joke. DS still puking a couple of full feeds a day. I slept in milk last night, but DH slept in toddler vomit and 6yo piss, so think I got off a bit better Grin or should I say we would have slept given a chance.

I have the three most beautiful children in the world Smile and I am very happy

Notgrownupinmyhead · 10/12/2012 19:34

Wow VQ, you did get off light! Ha.

Looking at their faces though makes the mess not matter.

Ive welled up this week looking at my lot and makes me realise even more how lucky I am.

At least you've not lost your sense of humour Grin

I remember when DH had his Colostomy and we both got D&V. The bag burst of and it was everywhere.

Oh the joys of Winter weather!

How are you feeling Blue? How often are you changing her? The boys need changing every 3 hours ish in the day, sometimes more often. Shock

ValiumQueen · 10/12/2012 19:44

Exploding colostomy bag. Poor you both!

We are all in bed already. Everyone asleep except me. DS is in his cot by the bed but I cannot settle. I should be pleased and asleep!

BiscuitCrumbsInBed · 10/12/2012 20:00

VQ you are doing amazingly - supermummy! Hope you get off to sleep soon, a cocoa or hot milk and digestive biscuits always do it for me (hence the crumbs!) - I'm such an old woman.

blue sorry no helpful suggestions for newborns here, I didn't start using cloth on my DD til she was nearly a year. I do find 2-part fitteds boosted with LL bamboo to be the most absorbent thing inhave but pp's prefolds sound good. I change her every 2-3 hours now at 16 months, I think she's a big wee-er and she still has loads of milk. I also just re-read some of the thread and I'm so sorry for the loss of your dd2 Flowers dd1 and 3 must be even more precious to you.

notgrown I hope your DH is doing brtter now - sounds like the kind of situation where you cry at the time and only laugh about it several years weeks later...

We've just had a horrendous run of nights where DD has been up til 9 or 10pm, I've been going crazy, esp as DH never gets home from work before 10 and so I'm desperate for my evenings in peace. Cut down dramatically on naps and yesterday she was asleep at 8 and she is asleep on me now... Just about to brave the transfer to her bed - pleeeaaaaasssse don't wake up baby biscuit....

Bluetinkerbell · 10/12/2012 21:06

Think I'm going to take a fluff break :(
Just can't be bothered with it atm, disposables are so much more convenient...
Feel quite sad about it though... Won't sell my stash just yet, might give it another go when she's chunked up a bit...

Notgrownupinmyhead · 10/12/2012 22:14

We were laughing about it the next day. I was on the toilet with my head over the bath then had to get off the toilet for dh to barf in.

VQ you are Supermummy. There comes a point where getting covered in human matter doesnt matter anymore. Will you be laughing at dh covered in kiddy matter? Hopefully this is the worst of it now and you can get on, even leave the house!

Blue, thats always good that the chubbing up is going well. Are you getting any sleep in the day??

How did the moving of the biscuit go??

Bluetinkerbell · 10/12/2012 22:21

Been busy with over night visitors the past week so no sleep during day... should try and have a nap indeed!
Will put the fluff away until after Xmas and try again then and see how it goes!

Notgrownupinmyhead · 10/12/2012 23:17

No wonder you've not been feeling in the mood! As much as its great having visitors its nice to have your own space kind of thing. Thanks

Bluetinkerbell · 11/12/2012 00:42

My family lives in Belgium so they've been visiting to see L. One more lot to arrive in boxing day, sister and BIL and my godson.

VQ you're a star, you've been through all sorts the last few weeks!

Biscuit, yes they're very precious, hence wanting the best for them and wanting to use cloth for example, but now that that seems such an effort, i think i should just enjoy and try not to feel bad about it. She'll be loved as much in a disposable!

LeBFG · 11/12/2012 06:34

Morin, how did everyone sleep? Ok-ish here thankfully, just pg insomnia. Glad you can all find the humour in dark situations. Much better to laugh than cry!

Biscuit - my DS just did a phase of that. He now sleeps in own proper bed and I sit with him. Last night was first night in ages I just left him to self-settle.

Blue - I forbit you from selling your stash . At about 5 months I gave up and didn't start reusing til 1y+ and I'm so glad I kept it all. I use fluff all the time now except night times and at CM. Chubbing makes a huge difference to fit (my DS didn't fit anything til 2 months as he was an ickle prem).

Notgrownupinmyhead · 11/12/2012 08:03

Blue, I work for a Belgian coffee blender/distributor.

Mmmmm Speculoos.

You're sounding better by the day Smile yeah, try again in a few months, they've got you for a mum and thats what counts! Wink

Sleep? Ds2 bangs his head in his cot and was at it fir hours last night. 2am he fell asleep then woke an hour after then newboy woke at 4.15 ( usual time now) to be fed and now waiting for the eldest to get dressed whilst me and dh laugh at his whinging. Calpol and lots of teething gel tonight i think! ShockShock

-4 out this morning! Wowsers!

How did BabyBiscuit get on?

BFG, did you get any sleep? Do you feel ok?

VQ, how are you n yours?

Bluetinkerbell · 11/12/2012 10:43

We had speculoos last week for Sinterklaas! :)
I'm enjoying my Belgian chocolate again, my family always brings me a whole load when they come over, never lasts long!

It is freezing out there! Kept L nice and snug in her snowsuit in the sling.

Notgrownupinmyhead · 11/12/2012 11:43

Where do you live Blue?

We used to scoff damaged boxes of Speculoos and Biscotti all washed down with Lattes made by my fair hand. Have you tried the Lotus spread? Iirc you can only get it in Belgium.

Dont babies look cute in Snowsuits?

BiscuitCrumbsInBed · 11/12/2012 13:26

Operation baby to bed was successful, but she then still woke every 2 hours or so all night... Hmmm.... Now she is asleep on my lap again....

Mhmmm now I want chocolate and biscotti for lunch!

Agree with BFG's advice / finger wagging Grin all is not lost ifyouhave a few weeks or months off the fluff, it won't do dd any harm!

Bluetinkerbell · 11/12/2012 13:38

We live near Wolverhampton.
I don't particularly like the Lotus speculoos, the spread is nice though, we've introduced that to our friends and now my family needs to import it every time they come over... Wink
I've spent all morning on the sofa with L on top of me, either sleeping or drinking. Should wrap some more presents and tidy the kitchen

Notgrownupinmyhead · 11/12/2012 15:41

Some of works engineers live in Wolverhampton.

Leave the kitchen! Ive not done mine today but tge mess that comes with making tea will ensure I do it later!

Work did their own brand Speculoos, they are in black sachets with silver writing in if you had them in Belgium. Smile

Hey Biscuit, sounds like your operation is gonna work! Operation Bedtime Biscuit!

BiscuitCrumbsInBed · 13/12/2012 12:49

What is speculoos?! I am intrigued (tho could prob just google )

What shall I do about nappies over Xmas - we are driving down to DH's parents Xmas day, staying over, then going straight on to my parents on boxing day. I don't have a big enough wetbag, could I just put the Xmas day nappies in a big binbag and take them to my parents? Or wash at in laws on Christmas day night after DD asleep, even though there will only be 5 or 6 nappies ? Or just use disposables - we use them at night anyway? Any thoughts ?

Notgrownupinmyhead · 13/12/2012 13:06

Tbh, disposables. When mum has the boys she uses them. You'll prob be coming back with presents and stuff anyway and one less bag... Grin

Speculoos are a Belgian coffee biscuit that are thin, crispy and taste if ginger and cinnamon. You can get the Lotus ones in Asda. If you go out for coffee and get biscuits with them in red wrapping they're the lotus ones. White and green will be branded Puro and black and silver Miko. Smile Mmmmmmmmmm.

Anyone know what this could be? Ds2 has what looks like a blood blister on his bum cheek. He is teething again too. Hmm

PurplePidjChickIsNotTheMessiah · 13/12/2012 13:42

I have an xl wetbag that holds a days worth. We're off to the in laws Xmas day then friends after, so I'll probably wash Xmas eve and boxing day and just rely on being allowed to use the machine wherever we are at the time - but then, we're visiting the kind of people we can ask that of. If we were visiting anywhere more, erm, formal, I'd use sposies (and will take supplies just in case!)

LeBFG · 15/12/2012 08:48

Guess everyone is ill/caring for ill ones. The thread has dropped off my active list, so remarking my place.

I've been sharking around on some other threads Grin. Still sitting on my arse most of the day, trying to avoid eating more Xmas chocolates. I've put on 10kg over six months Shock - I nearly fainted when I found out. Trying not to worry though, it'll all come back off easy enough....famous last words
