Yeah I'm at UCH. Had DS1 there in the labour ward (before they had the pool there I think, but even if they'd had it I wouldn't have wanted it, too itchy because of the OC!). I had a pretty good birth actually (apart from the &@&# pain) so at least I know it will be OK if I do end up needing to go to the labour ward/have an induction again. Itchiness hasn't got worse today, but still feeling more itchy than usual. Were you on the labour ward or the birthing centre?

BiscuitCrumbsInBed · 25/03/2013 12:30

Ow for the itching. Hope it is nothing to worry about this time. I started off in birth centre and ended up in the labour ward - I was in labour for 23 hours but they spent the first 4 hours or so telling me I wasn't really, despite the fact I was throwing up with pain and barely able to walk, they kept suggesting I go home, or we could go out for dinner (!) Eventually they let me have a room in the birth centre but just left us to it until my waters broke, there was meconium in the water and suddenly I was rushed downto labour ward - by that point I was mainly just relieved they finally believed me! And i had an amazing midwife once we got to the labour ward. Her name was Connie, keep an eye out for her! Smile

At last, a solution Grin Grin Grin Grin so now you need to sell the size 1's for 2's?

All going well here, no major traumas thankfully! Only got the babies this weekend, Mum has the diva Wink

PurplePidjin · 29/03/2013 18:56

Yeah, well, buy size 2 then attempt to recoup costs Hmm

OP posts:
LeBFG · 29/03/2013 20:14

Know what you mean about older diva - I have one too NH Hmm.

I have to trial your night nappy solution Pidj. I NEED a wool soaker to try out. Must get organised and order one sometime.

NappyHappy · 29/03/2013 23:12

Ahh BFG, he is such a drama queen. I should film him in action and replay it to him when he is a teen. How are you and the squishy one? how is DS with her?

Pidj, I need to get some more sold too. Got some Bum genius and they don't fit right around the crotch. Most of my medium wraps have to go now too Sad Is R still in his room? Does it feel strange not having him in your room? Once 3 is sttn he'll be in with big bro. I've to pack away the 3-6m clothes too.

PurplePidjin · 30/03/2013 04:11

I have no idea what inserts go with what pockets so just stuff em all with prefolds! Let me know if you're selling on size 2 bamboo fitteds.

R is still in his room, we still have 2 wakes but i sleep better when i can only hear the big noises

OP posts:
PurplePidjin · 30/03/2013 04:12

Are you saving things for the next one, NH?

OP posts:
BiscuitCrumbsInBed · 30/03/2013 21:54

Grin NH are you going for 4?!

NappyHappy · 31/03/2013 12:56

Thats great P, I sold all my size 2's so its the Bumgenius as I cant get a good fit and some more cosmic print EasyFits oh and some s/m Motherease wraps.

Shock Nooo, 3 is enough I want to get back to work once they're in school Grin

The clothes are all going to a charity called Wood Street Mission in Manchester.

Baby has his first cough/cold bless him. The others have got it too so Vicks all round!

I left the nappies on the line last night so they'll be super fresh!

NappyHappy · 31/03/2013 14:06

Ps 2 wakes is good!! Grin

PurplePidjin · 31/03/2013 20:07

Not according to all the old wives i know who seem determined to make me feel like an utter failure Sad

How much for EFs? Dp finds them best so i might be tempted...

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 31/03/2013 21:05

Are you bollox a failure, why on God's Earth do you feel one? I think Motherhood has come second nature to you.

I feel like that when they're having a scream fest and just tell myself they scream because they need and love me. Grin DH said that to me when ds1 was a baby and having a moment.

They have however been stuck on me most of the day which has been quite cute.

Name your price for the EF's. I'm not sure how many I've got, about 4 ish. Stain free and sticky Velcro, just had a bit of white fluff round the edges Hmm

Biscuit, as much as I would like more children we can't afford anymore and it would mean getting a bigger car, house etc.

LeBFG · 01/04/2013 14:55

You are sooo far from being an utter failure, it's almost comical to suggest that Pidj. Do NOT listen to the 'mine all slept through from 1 week old' blah blah. Tis a loada bollox. In my more malicious moments, I feel people make this stuff up on purpose to make us feel bad. Or say these things to cover up their own perceived failings as parents in other areas....

PurplePidjin · 01/04/2013 17:17

Thanks, looks like we're starting with the teeth Sad

£15?

OP posts:
BiscuitCrumbsInBed · 01/04/2013 17:19

BFG I agree! Baby sleep is such a mega issue and sleep 'one-upmanship' by parents is the worst thing ever and should be an actual CRIME. I posted a very ranty post on a thread in Sleep about it earlier this week Grin ( PMT strikes again...) Pidj honestly you have been doing brilliantly. It is normal for babies to wake 5 or 6 times a night Most old wives just can't remember that far back!

BiscuitCrumbsInBed · 01/04/2013 17:21

Have a read of this about baby sleep, I found it very reassuring.

NappyHappy · 01/04/2013 18:32

£20 all in?

Ds2 has only just at 17m mastered the art only just of sleeping through! ds1 is 5 and still wakes up. Lots. Screaming.

I lol in the face of one up-manship parents. Your offspring will rebel against you later on.

I've a friend like that, her dd was talking before the age of one, reading before she started school and constantly reminds me of 'of course you don't bf' and how her babies have perfect shaped heads as they were born by section.

Why is it such a competition with some parents? I don't get it, we're all part of the Sisterhood and should be sticking together and supporting each other.

DS3 has his first cold and doesn't know what he wants bless him.

rrreow · 01/04/2013 19:48

PP at 4 months, anything goes! DS is 23mo and just started sleeping through the night... sometimes..

He was great in the beginning, I'd read all the horror stories about 2 hourly feeds, but he'd sleep for stretches of 3-4 hours at night. Then he did two nights of 7-9 hours in the early days and I was like: HAH this stuff is easy! I'm fairly sure there is a sleep regression at 2 or 4 months. So yeah.. that was that, took nearly 2 years before he'd sleep a stretch of 9 hours again! And around 8-10mo he'd wake hourly for comfort feeds. Drove me insane!

But seriously it's nothing you are doing or not doing at this point, it's just a case of every child is different and you have to go with it and help them and hold them and comfort them and feed them and just generally give them what they need!

PurplePidjin · 01/04/2013 19:54

Deal :) pm/fb me your pp

This was mil. She's fab, but her three apparently all slept through at days old. And fed 2 hourly regular as clockwork. Although apparently dp cried a lot and she sees no correlation between these two facts i nod and smile and try not to implode from the pressure. Yes, this is who i stayed with when dp was in hospital...

BiscuitCrumbsInBed · 01/04/2013 20:51

Oooh just saw on a new thread that LL ate doing a bamboo fitted and wrap for £5 delivered...

NappyHappy · 01/04/2013 21:55

I shall pm it you shortly. Wink

We're all baby led parent-ers then!

Mums (ours) are the worst I think for handing out advice , dh's Mum is visiting on Wed, I may need Gin.

DS2 takes his milk to bed with him in a bottle and I dared to change the teat to a spout. Naughty Mummy! Think I'll let him wean himself off it.

That offer sounds rather spiffing biscuit!

PurplePidjin · 01/04/2013 23:47

Mine ican snap at if she's being a pita. Mil i have to suck it up [blush.

Second wake of the night. Fuck.

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 01/04/2013 23:50

Same here. Chesty cough keeps waking him. Sad

DS1 is still awake watching DVD's in bed but seems so its the holidays I don't mind too much.
