Fantastic 40+ Mums

Mum of 2, DS1 nearly 4yo and DD2 almost 11 weeks. I hope to find here advices from experienced mums so that I can avoid mistakes... I made some with DS1 and my life sometimes is hell, it is hard to unlearn wrong behaviour, so hard.
At the time being, DD2 is a very sweet baby, she is easy to decipher, cries are always related to some kind of discomfort and I managed to learn what they mean, or almost. Only one issue with her ATM is that she rejects bottle feeding even with expressed milk. I'd like to be able to escape a bit from the house to get a haircut or a facial. And I am sure DH would like to feed her sometimes too.
I struggle a bit more with DS1, who is usually a good boy, energetic, happy and loving. But after school, getting him to take his bath is a battle and falling and staying asleep all night are big issues. The problems did exist before but now with the recent arrival of his sister, the intensity has increased. Or maybe they are the same but to me they seem bigger and need to be addressed quickly so that I can look after both without raising my voice.
All advice are welcome. I need help here.

Also I'd like to invite all the graduates from the Fantastic 40+ Mums to be thread to join. You have been truly fantastic and so supportive during my pg. I hope to be able to keep on sharing with you this wonderful parenting adventure.

Sending big hugs to midget. Fecking colds suck. I know this is gross but I do it every time when I have a cold. Get a blob of Vaseline around each nostril. Then get a small section of bog roll and roll into a small bung. Put up each nostril. Bingo. No dripping nose and Vaseline helps the soreness from blowing. Sexy look I know. How I got pregnant I will never know! !

Goat. Sorry to hear u have had a rough time too honey. Sending hugs. Wishing Sunday speeds for u. No chance anyone can pop over just so u can havs an hours sleep.
Everyone needs choc in any form. I would love to be nearer would bring baby monkey and give baby goat a cuddle while u had a sleep

Midget & vq u r both beyond amaZing. Hope u both feel better and it is a shit when u r sick. I have band anyone who is sick within 10 feet of me and Dylan. And why do old people have to fucking touch babies. Stopped a lady in town the other day. Dont wAnt to be a germ nutter but holy crap. He is very little and it's exhausting enough. How is your little oneschest VQ?

Thanks for making me feel better about things

This morning I took time to actually observe the girls. They were both full of beans and very happy. This is not scarring them, they are coping. I asked DD1 on way to school if I had been less grumpy. She said I had done very well this morning but she was upset that I had not fed her in the middle of the night. She woke at 6 and I told her she needed to wait until I had finished feeding J, or daddy got up.

Js cough is still horrid, and he is very snotty, but has not vomited for a few days, so definately much better.

Sending well wishes to knottyhair. Looking forward to hearing all about baby knotty.

Well done LRM for telling people off. Agree, why do people think they can touch babies ? It was the same with bump, wasn't it ? Hello ! This is private ! This is personal space. Maybe I should start a brand of cloth for pg women and babies with big bold words: NO TOUCHING it would say in all languages....
Midget, the horrible weather last Friday did not help, I might be the one giving the cold to you as DS had it from nursery and now that he is well, the rest of the household has it, DH and me, of course I gave it to the LO. She was so cute this morning with one wet eye, runny nose but smiling at the only person who made her sick :(

I need sleep. BG has been vocal since 2am and I have just managed to get him off to sleep. On me. As long as I am standing up. No breakfast yet either
He has a red, weepy eye, think I will take him along to the hv this afternoon to see if it's anything. Hope it's one of the useful ones on duty...

Just had a shower myself, Anastasia has had a good night sleep, woke up once at 4.15 for a feed, pj day today too.
Opened the fridge, looked at it in despair, nothing very interesting in there.... Considering ordering a pizza. Wish you all were here to share with me.

Baby monkey up and a wake on and off since 4. Kept tapping him in hislifting basket then gettinge half an hours sleepsv then the ccycle continues. He ho. May slip a sleeping tablet in his bottle. Haha. Now that would be an inventors dream baby sleep tabs happy days then ladies eh

I am living on biscuits at the moment. Dont tell midget she will kill me I have not been on the x trainer lately.

Chicken curry for tea with stir fry veg and some rice. Pudding is biscuits and ice cream

DH has been really good to me, cooking by Jamie's 15 min meals ! But he is now as sick as I am... So today's lunch was hard boiled eggs, salad and dehydrated tomato soup... And panettone and Lady Grey tea...
LRM, I wanted to take some vit C for my cold and stopped suddenly at the thoughts of Anastasia jumping up and down in her cot all night...

Haha. Vision of her going nuts all night. How ya feeling. I am dreading getting another cold. My friend got flu the other week so ill she could not function. Baby was in formula for two days. She was super sick hubby had to take three days off work to feed baby. So everyone who is ill feel better very very soon

I love dehydrated TomTom soup. It has a lovely flavour. Best in a mug. Use to get in Hong Kong loved it.
Ladies favourite food. Chinese
Hate liver and fatty meats
Love. Biscuits and toblelrone
Drink. Lucazade and gallons of it

Well BG is now officially a lump, has gone up a centile and is 13.9 lbs! Also eye seems much better this afternoon so just go on cleaning with cooled boiled water.
Boo to having a cold, bbd not good. Hope you feel better soon. Vit c maybe better than whiskey hot toddy though! I have visions of Anastasia singing soulful songs all night on that one.
My favourite food seems to be anything beginning with ch - chips, chocolate, Chinese, cheese... Or maybe it's just anything cholesterol inducing (although that is also a ch!)

Ps hate liver, pumpkin and leeks in white parsley sauce.

Still have a cold here but master Midge seems to have a very mild version and I am resorting to both hot toddys and parecetomol to see me through. DH had prebooked ice skating tickets so I had to dose myself up to get through it. Now in bed trying to get warm and dry. DD had her first run on the ice. Very cute and a bit scary.

Putting master nudge to sleep he just suddenly started really laughing. So very cute I could have eaten him but still reeling from goat saying she doesn't like Christmas dinner..

Hope both VQand BHB households start to feel better soon... Going to pass out must sleep....

You have to remember that I am from furrin parts. Xmas dinner is more likely to be colonial goose and that's a bit hard to stuff.

Yeh baby goat letting mummy sleep. Good girl. Baby monkey and dp let me have 6 hours. Woke to monster boobs. Looked like implants so firm use to them not that up right they usually look at the floor

Baby monkey really drove me nuts yesterday crying. Had to put him in his cot and take annoyance out on vacuuming. I think he is hungry as he is lazy on the boob. He has a feed on thr fast initials flow but when he slows and comes off the boob he won't go back on so I swap boobs and so on. I think I will add in an extra bottle at lunch time. What feeds do u all do day and night. His weight is good just interested if he needs a bit more. Boob feeds only last ten mins max

LRM I feed whenever the little shit darling wants it. Yesterday I was getting so fed up with him as he wanted it all the time and then he looked at me and laughed and all was forgiven. Average is 2 hourly. A 4 hour stretch is as good as it gets but this is rare. If he is crying and all else fails I feed him. He eats a lot. This is normal with boys greedy feckers
