I finally realised that the feb procrastinators is very quiet, assumed there must be a march procrastinators, but I can't find it.

Am I the only one?

I'm here...but massively behind with stuff. I have a tutorial on Saturday morning on the contents of Block 1 and the start of Block 2. I am currently about 20 pages into block 1 (after more than a month since the course officially started and 2 months after receiving the books Blush), which has about 200 pages in total Hmm.

Dd2 seems to have chosen this week to give up her afternoon nap, thus depriving me of my study time

chipmunksex · 07/03/2012 13:01

You are doing well crafty, studying with dd at home. I can't imagine not having the child free time when dc are at school.

My next TMA is due on the 17th, I really should start it.

I'm here.

2 weeks behind the planner in reading, TMA due a week today, and a tutorial tonight. Blush

I finally cheered up a bit yesterday though when I discovered the that the reason I hadn't been able to figure a particular "thing" out, was because they haven't found a way to research it yet. Yey!

Does everyone get to a point when they just don't know what they're doing. I know I (desperately) want to do this course, but a (very) slightly poorer mark than I'd hoped for on my last TMA has just knocked me for 6. I was still a bloody good mark, and one that on my previous course I'd have been delighted with, but I've really lost the will, which seems completely pathetic. Sad

I just don't know what to do to get out of this black hole of self pity.

I'm here. TMA due on Monday. Have sort of started it. Have not done any of the crucial reading. Just my usual searching through the text until I can find words that are the same as in the question. First TMA of this course though so never know what the standard is.

gingergran · 07/03/2012 15:46

i'm here too - chipmunksex, we are all too busy procrastinating to start a new thread!!
I've a got TMA due 9th March and another on 20th - read some for the first but haven't even opened the book for the second!

craftynclothy · 07/03/2012 17:31

Btw, this afternoon I had to fill in a thing for transitional fees (basically saying which qualification I wanted it to count for). It set me off browsing for my next modules and I notice the fees (£1250) are no available BUT I can't find the transitional fees. Anyone know when they'll release them? Or how to work them out?

wildstrawberryplace · 07/03/2012 17:37

I'm here.

It's so bloody hard doing two courses at once.

I have to fill in the transitional fees thing too, but my head was just going "Cannot compute" so I ignored it. Yay, I'm procrastinating even filling forms in.

fuzzpig · 07/03/2012 17:42

Hello, I'm here, sort of. Done essay plan but need to write the actual essay... Haven't written one for a few years so I'm nervous about that. Due on 13th (eTMA rather than post so got a few days yet), but in between that I've got a hen party to go to and I'm really nervous about that.

Having massive mental health issues ATM and really behind, but my tutor is being lovely about it.

madwomanintheattic · 07/03/2012 17:44

Procrastinating. Grin

But I am attempting to come up with an entire plan to take me through to August completion, which I will blardy well stick to if it kills me.

Do or die, I tell ya.

SwedishEdith · 07/03/2012 18:21

Oh, god yes, I ignored the transitional fees email as well. Do I have to do something?

craftynclothy · 07/03/2012 18:51

SwedishEdith - yes, there's a link on Student Home. It's basically tick a box for the qualification you want transitional fees for.

I think the fees for my next course will be £475 - I clicked for the Wales price and I assume that'll be what I'll pay under transitional arrangements

fuzzpig · 07/03/2012 19:34

WTAF are transitional fees?

I am fully funded ATM though because I took a break I will have to pay for my last year (2014).

SwedishEdith · 07/03/2012 19:47

Oh, phew, you have until end of August to decide (procrastination)

Readyisknitting · 08/03/2012 10:47

Transitional fees done here, but busy procrastinating over cyclic subgroups.

fuzzpig · 08/03/2012 11:36

Cyclic subgroups? Are you doing M208 by any chance?

Readyisknitting · 08/03/2012 12:21

Yeah, for my sins. You been there?

craftynclothy · 08/03/2012 12:36

Ahhh, group theory. That takes me back, um, about 10 years Shock. Shit, I'm getting old Grin

Feeling a bit meh today. Got my assignment back last night, got a good mark but a bit annoyed at tutor's comments. Basically where I've lost marks he's said my way of doing it was "fairly odd" ConfusedHmmSad. I mean, if he'd said "Here's my nifty little way of doing this, it would have made your work look neater, more concise, blah blah" fair enough but just calling my stuff odd is um, odd and a little soul destroying .

tumbleweedblowing · 08/03/2012 15:36

That's a bit rubbish of him crafty.

Yey, 2 lovely little mind maps (its a compare and contrast) and four pages of notes. I think I'll get it started properly, and hopefully in on time.

Really do need to find a way not to get so bogged down in the results of the last one, and just crack on getting the next one in on time.

fuzzpig · 08/03/2012 16:37

Yep I did m208 a couple of years ago. Not doing any more maths though, am on child development and panicking about my lack of essay skills!

gingergran · 08/03/2012 19:32

i am doing child development also fuzzpig - finding it hard going at the moment as i am overlapping with another course. i am not so bothered about the essay rather the next TMA scares the living daylights out of me!

fuzzpig · 08/03/2012 19:41

I haven't even looked at the next assignment yet! How dare you be so organised :o

gingergran · 09/03/2012 07:30

have looked at it and this one but haven't done either!

fuzzpig · 09/03/2012 09:21

I've planned mine (chose option one purely because I haven't studied the chapter for option two!)

Off to a hen party tonight so will have to fit it in somehow...

chipmunksex · 09/03/2012 10:12

Have spent an hour reading about strawberry cheesecake cupcakes-how is this pertinent to the body in politics you ask?

The answer is it's not, but really are they worth the hassle or shall I just rustle up a nice victoria sponge?

OP posts:
Readyisknitting · 09/03/2012 10:43

I would do a nice sponge. We (shortie and I) have made biscuits with the cutters she got for her birthday. And next job is decorating them.

That sounds bum Crafty, I'd much rather something constructive especially-as-I'm-always-making-silly-mistakes

Can I ask why you're not doing any more maths? I'm registered for the open degree, but life has mucked up my funding, and I'm relying on my dad to help me pay, and so I feel duty bound to half follow his advice of keeping it 'uncontaminated'

I get tonight to study, but I still have Sunday school to plan, and a Good Friday children's service as well...

Is it too early for Wine?
