cod that's EXACTLY what dd said today
479547 gazillion times

dollybird · 23/01/2006 21:11

Cod, quick question - when dd goes back in pants (9/2, I promise!) should I still be taking her every 15 mins bearing in mind she was out of nappies for 4.5 months before? She can go for a few hours without weeing so don't want to go ott. Also, she is already getting bored of potty at bath time etc...

McMudda, did you ever see that Little Angels with a four year old girl (who was at school!) who wet herself all the time - just sat down on the floor and did it coz she couldn't be bothered to go to the loo? I think they cracked it by not saying anything when she had an accident and letting her 'decorate' the bathroom. She chose her own toilet seat and everything!

hi cod, yet another of your previous recruits returning for more advice...
....ds2 mostly dry. accidents happen
1, when his friends come round and try playing with his toys
2, if he feels new dd getting too much attention
3, when i'm cooking the tea
4, when i'm crap and forget to take him as soon as we get back from being out

sounds like a big list but spending more time dry than wet and no accidents t all when we've gone out

any tips for above welcome but main problem is poo. he never, ever, ever poos on toilet. stocked up on pants butrapidly decreasing pile as keep binning them as so disgusting. he usually waits til i'm feeding dd to perform. what can i do?

God, my list is exactly the same as that! Crap day today - he seems to hold it all in for the entire 2.5 hours at preschool and then wee everywhere for the rest of the day. Some goes in the potty though! From talking to other people, boys seem to get so involved in what they're doing they can't be bothered to go to the potty/toilet so end up weeing in pants when they just can't hold it any longer. I think I need to accept the fact that I will have to keep reminding DS1 for the mo - will it ever end?????????????? Definitely the hardest bit of parenting so far!

cod

night training night no 2

dd1 got up about 11pm and asked for me to take her to the toilet - result

got up again just after midnight, asked for nappy, when i asked why she said she didnt want to wet her bed. i tried speaking to her and reassuring her etc etc but she just got more insistent and ended up having a loud tantrum, crying, so i gave in and gave her a nappy.

advice please

the other thing is she has a cold just now and is feeling shitty.

i want to carry on but dont know if its the right thing, was it a big mistake putting the nappy on her

DS did a poo in the potty this morning and one wee, but also one on the floor. Still better start to the day than yesterday, now I'm being very brave we are about to go out, wish me luck

MeAndMyBoy · 24/01/2006 11:32

Good luck Kate hope it went ok

alicatsg · 24/01/2006 11:50

We've just started this with toilet-obsessed DS (he's 2yrs 5 mths). So far 5 accidents yesterday and 2 tiday. He loves using potty/toilet but hasn't quite got the warning signals down pat just yet.

Thanks for the advice Cod.

It did not go well He wet himself in the car on the way there and as we were about to leave I asked if he neededto go looked down and saw a puddle on the floor, oh dear. Weill it's got to get better, I'm determined there will be NO MORE NAPPIES!!

Cod, I need your help!
dd, 2.4mths in Feb, had potty training down to a tee before the excitement of Xmas, everything in the potty or toilet, which ever she decided. Over xmas, she lost the plot, but we've just about managed to get her back into doing everything on the toilet except, she now won't poo on there? any advice appreciated......particularly as she did a right humdinger at nursery today, which they bagged and left for me to deal with, as they're getting fed up as well!! I don't want to put her back in pull ups as she treats these as nappies.....

Not too bad today. Only (!) two wet trousers, and about 6 or 7 damp pants. It takes him about three trips up and down to the loo though before he actually manages to let go and do it, hence all the damp pants! Also, one poo in pants today, the first, but that happened when I was in there! Not a coincidence, I think. I'm letting him lead now, I prompt, but don't take him. He's getting good at asking to go. I'm wearing out the stair carpet with him, in fact. I'm very pleased with him. Though we still have a way to go!

Actually, I was thinking of getting him something. The others fot so many bribes, I mean, rewards, and I think he really deserves it. We've got to get a present for a party on Saturday that dd's going to, so I think a little something for ds2 is in order...

pooka · 24/01/2006 22:01

dd was doing absolultely brilliantly until yesterday when she had massive temperature, sweats, shaking and has a raging ear infection. Has been (understandably) very edgy today. Didn't want knickers/potty or loo. Has been drinking loads to keep her temp down. Had an accident first thing and it really upset her.
Sooooo...the long and the short of it is that I let her wear nappies again today. Will go back to knickers when she's feeling better. On a positive note, she did ask my permission to pee in her nappy (but when I said I'd get the potty instead she sobbed as is really poorly).

pooka · 24/01/2006 22:03

Oh Cod - your bossiness is EXACTLY what was required to make me get off my arse and do something about it!

nailpolish · 25/01/2006 08:28

cod she hasnt worn a nappy during the day for 6 mths. shes 3 yrs 3 mths

last night she went to bed without a nappy again. she lasted 1 hr, was up twice during that hr and then i put a nappy on her. i think shes anxious. i dont think shes ready. she isnt dry at night, in the mornings her nappies have been pretty wet.

shes also got a stinking cold.

im going to leave it and try again in a few weeks

what do you think?
