We still need nappies at night time.

You are right though - I think I am worried that he will wee everywhere when we are out, and don't want to not go out.

I know, I am not good.

I fear I will be expelled from the thread soon

Well' we're doing okish although I seem to have become a slave to the smallest tyrant in the world.

We really hadn't got the hang of the pants thing on Friday or saturday morning, lots of wees on the potty though the clothes. I was a bit apprehensive about our usual saturday night at MILs, but it seemed to click somewhere between our house and MILs! She refused to leave her trousers off, and actually asked for them to come down when she needed the potty. We've only had one accident and that was at BILs on Sunday, and even that was OK as she stayed dry through an 1.5hr car journey, lunch at McD's (6 non productive trips to toilets - mummy toilet now!) 10 trips to toilets at BILs (and 1 accident) an hours journey home and dinner at Pizza Hut (lots and lots of Mummy Toilet NOW! with nothing to show - ended up making DH take her to the disabled toilets ) I really need her to learn to pull her own stuff up and down now.
We've also had three mornings of dry nappies, I don't trust her enough to leave them off yet but I really pleased with her.

I'm glad i've done this now, but I wouldn't have been brave enough to do this yet if it wasn't for this thread, thanks!

Gosh, thanks cod!

Actually, I think I'm only being so patient because I've just had a lovely girly weekend away in London so today the world is a beautiful place, even the pt bit! Tomorrow may be a whole other story!

Not been a good day, lots of accidents, I think because he has pants on, but he's getting better. He's now telling me he needs a wee, so I can pull his pants down and there's always a bit of wee in his pants so he's managing to hold on between realising and getting to the potty and if he asks to go he does do a wee, so that's good too. Lots of washing to do today, I don't think that we're ready for trousers as well.

When do I stop giving him drinks in the evening, he always has milk before bed and he'd be really upset if didn't get it. DO I only have to worry about that when I'm trying to get him dry at night?

Not bad today. We've had 4 or 5 accidents but this afternoon he asked for the toilet and did a poo, then asked again a bit later and although he had damp pants (trousers OK) he did a wee on the loo. He's always a bit freaked out by weeing/pooing on the toilet though, and I don't whoop too much as he looks a bit scared if I do! I make it clear I'm pleased though and he gets smarties which makes him happy! Not a bad day all things considered!

puff · 23/01/2006 17:39

Not been on here - was intending to try again with ds2 (2.5) in a couple of weeks time. But, tonight, he has pulled down his pull up and said, "wee wee toilet Mummy". Sat on loo, did a wee to much applause and has now been in the loo for an hour either sitting on it laughing or washing his hands.

Have grabbed underpants, put them on. I think we are off............

oh cod I am SO

what a tiresome day
I was trying to get dd1 to sit on the potty when we arrived at friends (just round the corner, OK for accidents, laminate floors...) and we had a ONE HOUR stand off with her refusing to sit on the potty
what would you have done?
BUT we have had three wees in the potty
thank the lord it's nearly bed time

puff · 23/01/2006 20:04

No, not me, it's pants all the way now, just as it was with ds1. Have a large stock of cheapies, any really disgustingly pooed up ones go straight in a nappy sack and then bin.

Lucycat · 23/01/2006 20:18

OK we've had a whole week of potty training and I think we've cracked it!

No accidents for 3 days now and dry pants all the time, no dribbly bit! Dry at nap times too - she's such a clever girl, v proud mummy here.

She will go and get the potty herself and go on her own with no prompting yeh!

Does this mean that I can eat the rest of the shrimps?

I didn't shout or anything
I was icy calm but I really didn't want to say so soon that I would get cross
I am uncomfortable making it a discipline issue, because she is wilful and determined and we don't have any flashpoints at the moment.
I must say I was not my usual patient self today. I HATE staying in all day for a start.will read everyone else's posts about how easy it is going to be...

harpsichordcarrier · 23/01/2006 20:32

sorry I mean to say thanks cod, you're right. won't make an issue of it tomorrow.
