Hi everyone, hardly seem to get much time to log in anymore since I started back at work (and I am part time...) DD is doing really well! She can sit up pretty well now and loves her food!
Congrats Dahlia on your DD getting a tooth - we are still waiting, dd has had red cheeks for ages but still no teeth. I keep thinking it can't be long now....

Hiya Champs! I actually only managed to breastfeed for the grand total of one day so I wouldn't know!

Motherinferior - are you there? You and I are sharing a page in Prima Baby!!!!!!!!!!! I nearly died when I saw your picture! What a hoot! Have you seen it yet?

I wondered when that would be out! Oh my GOD!!!!

Dahlia · 06/02/2004 17:00

Champs, its out now! Its the March issue. (And I am the fat hoofer who put on 5 stone!!!)

motherinferior · 06/02/2004 19:21

Oh god. Oh god. Oh god. I really didn't do it to show off, honestly, if I come across as all showoffy I do apologise.

champs · 06/02/2004 22:43

dahlia--- i put on that much just by looking at apack of revels
MI--- be a showoff as much as you like, it's a mums right afterall

Dahlia · 07/02/2004 21:09

Yes MI you did come across as a complete show off - it was all 'me, me, me' and 'pilates, pilates, pilates' mixed in with 'unfortunately, I put on 3 ounces' - well, all I have to say is ounces - schmounces. Give me a real woman who isn't afraid of her bacon sandwiches and will face double cream doughnuts at dawn without flinching.

WideWebWitch · 07/02/2004 23:45

Have to admit that I bought Baby Prima (pretty awful innit? IMO etc) today out of complete nosiness! I thought at first that maybe you 2 were the ones demonstrating the breastfeeding and bottle feeding and then I saw the other page and realised I was mistaken. An ounce indeed MI! And well done Dahlia for what you've lost so far.

motherinferior · 08/02/2004 21:53

TBH when I emailed Joanna I thought I'd be a fairly useless example as I was sure she'd have other people like a friend of mine who actually loses weight when pg...thing is, whoever subbed it put on the most godawful 'toddler helped keep the weight off' title. Bollocks. I sit on my bum every day at a desk. I have no idea why this time round I didn't put on much - I was actually quite seriously upset/depressed because I thought I'd be huge and wobbly for about a year after this baby like I was after dd1. Burst into tears at a consultant about it at one point. But as far as I know that didn't interfere with my cake addiction AT ALL.

And can I say I am not exactly Missis Waif either.

motherinferior · 08/02/2004 22:03

In fact have spent entire life since age 9 paranoid about being fat. My mum is Missis Waif (put on weight some years ago and now weighs - drumroll, drumroll - seven and a half stone). Spent my early 20s in bizarre baggy homemade clothes to disguise what I thought of as my abnormal enormity. Came to terms with normal female roundedness age 36 or so?

tillymint · 09/02/2004 19:53

Hello,
Since my baby was born in July 03, and I'm fat, can I join in this thread?

kaz33 · 09/02/2004 20:13

I like to think of myself as volouptous !!

motherinferior · 09/02/2004 20:28

How's the babe, tillymint?

tillymint · 09/02/2004 20:55

Helo MI,
She's a little poppet, now. Had a terrible time getting her into a routine, but now I can't complain. Although she has started to wake in the night, and except for once, will only settle with a bottle which she glugs down, so must need it. Daytime she power naps with 2 or 3 20min naps during day. She's 6 and a half mths now, no teeth,(no white bumps) loads of dribble, but smiles and laughs a lot.
How about you?

motherinferior · 09/02/2004 21:00

An angel. A poppet. An adorable cherub with a smile and a gurgly laugh whom I adore to bits.

tillymint · 09/02/2004 22:28

Hey!
You've kidnapped MY baby!

Dahlia · 17/02/2004 21:58

Hullo Ladies, and welcome Tillymint. Am managing to grab five minutes on here before I collapse into bed. Our loft conversion is finished now so we are frantically decorating as the carpet is coming on Monday - I am also trying to work full time, rehearse for a play, decorate dd2's bedroom which has been somewhat ransacked by builders and keep on top of the mess and dust etc from the building work. It is never ending and I think I might die. On a lighter note, dd2 is fabulously lovely and I love every second I spend with her.
How is everybody else? Did anyone have the energy for a valentine's day bonk? I chuffing didn't.

champs · 18/02/2004 17:27

DS1 Bday today!!!!

sorry if this is double post, have posted this in august board but thought would update here too....

motherinferior · 18/02/2004 21:08

Belated congrats to young Champs. Hey, Dahlia, isn't that the play where you're a stripper?

champs · 18/02/2004 22:46

thanx mi!! dahlia, what fun..... the play i mean, when is the oppening night?

Dahlia · 02/03/2004 14:47

Last night! And 10 minutes before curtain up the fire alarm went off (faulty) - we all had to evacuate as well as a 400 strong audience - very surreal. The play (eventually) went well, although about 50 walked out in the interval - I was furious, there has been so much publicity about the subject matter of this play that no-one has any excuse to be offended. Yes, MI, I am a stripper - and no, I don't actually get 'em off. I think my huge pull-me-in knickers and support tights would kill the scene somewhat.
