APRIL PROCRATINATORS THREAD

winnybella · 16/03/2011 22:51

I thought I'll start this one as I am, without a doubt, the worst procratinator among you all (failed to submit the second tma on this course).

So...my next deadline is April 5th and it's on A Portrait of A Lady and A Woman in White.

How's everybody else getting on?

winny, you've finished it though. Smile
now get some blardy sleep! (tis not even 9pm here, so i can do cheerful).

getting it in is an achievement in itself, honestly.

well done!

next time, you'll know you can get it done. but you might want to read the book before the tms is due Wink. maybe. Grin

i am a compulsive reader. i can never read enough. so i will have read the book, fifty three critical essays, four specially ordered amazon specials that might contain a reference if i'm lucky, and then will still feel utterly unprepared. so i'll go and look up some more. and then i'll know i haven't read enough. and so the cycle starts again, whilst the deadline disappears over the horizon.

but WELL DONE!!! you got it IN!!!

madwomanintheattic · 06/04/2011 04:00

i only have THREE days left at work before i am a full time student again.

Grin Grin Grin

Jaquelinehyde · 06/04/2011 09:48

Lalalalalalala I should have been at Uni an hour ago but I am at home and still not dressed. I just keep getting distracted and now I'm on here!!!!

Oh well the plan was to get 1000 good words written today, I suppose I could compromise at 1000 shit words! Grin Grin

well done winny! all good! Grin

get that lit review started, jaq

Jaquelinehyde · 06/04/2011 15:21

Oooh Winny well done Grin excellent news.

Ahem, I still have done nothing today! Tomorrow is going to be my day though I can feel it in my waters!

winnybella · 06/04/2011 15:24

Yes, I'm happy considering I started writing it 3 hours before deadline BUT if I had started few days earlier, maybe I could have gotten a first. Oh, well.

Jaqueline- did you make a study plan yet? I've never done it Grin, but supposedly they're helpful.

Are you excited, madwoman, or a bit terrified?

OP posts:
madwomanintheattic · 06/04/2011 16:01

both. Grin

but mostly knackered. sort of nervous exhaustion, i think. Grin

right, gotta go. work calls.

winnybella · 06/04/2011 21:42

How are you doing, Proles?

OP posts:
winnybella · 06/04/2011 23:25

Oooh, I have just registered for A300-20th c. texts and debates. I need to pick one more. I wonder how I'll manage with 2 60 point modules Hmm

OP posts:
madwomanintheattic · 07/04/2011 01:26

you are so funny! Grin
i think you may be me. struggling with one course always make me want to sign up for another one - masochistic tendencies.
i've just had a quick look at a300 - and immediately thought, oo, i could finish my MA with the ou. i know full well that the ou won't accept credit transfer for my existing ma coursework (they don't for english, apparently ) so i thought 'oo, i could just do it again, let's have a look...'

you'll be pleased to know i stopped myself before i hit the 'pg study' button.

two days left at work! Grin

Jaquelinehyde · 07/04/2011 10:04

I AM IN THE LIBRARY!!! I HAVE WRITTEN 80 WORDS OF MY LIT REVIEW!

Grin well it's a start.

madwomanintheattic · 07/04/2011 15:01

yay! now get off mn Wink

leothelioness · 08/04/2011 09:56

Hi everyone,
Winnybella I found the thread Yay!
I have just submitted my assignment yesterday on the last day of the extention deadline, was very close to just packing it all in a calling it a day but in the end thanks to a few sound kicks up the bum I got it done in the end.

I have another TMA due on the 12th so need to get a move on and start that otherwise it will be a replay of panic yesterday.

Now I will go off and read the rest of the thread.

winnybella · 08/04/2011 09:59

Welcome Grin

I'm reading The Awakening, then it's on to The Heart of Darkness, then all the course materials and critics as I'm planning to start revision shortly...exam in 10 weeks

OP posts:
leothelioness · 08/04/2011 10:46

ohh I have only ever done one summer exam and hated it, the kids wanted to go out I needed to study it was a disaster.
Good luck with your reading Winny keep at it!

I am currently working on my last 2 courses before I graduate and hopefully start a PGCE in 2012.

winnybella · 08/04/2011 10:47

Which one are you doing now?

OP posts:
Jaquelinehyde · 08/04/2011 11:50

Yay my supervisor liked everything and told me to just get on with it now Grin

Unfortunately my get up and go has got up and gone!

leothelioness · 08/04/2011 13:21

I am doing signals and perception and the life sciences project course which is basically lots of research on a decided topic mine is from the infectious diseases and writing a literary rewiew of the scientific evidence.

@JaquelineHyde Did I read further up (its perfectly possible I imagined it) that you are doing a PGCE?

madwomanintheattic · 08/04/2011 15:03

yay jaq! go and find your get up and go, grab it and get on - you know it'll be so worth it! fab that your supervisor is on side Grin

now do as you are told!

did you get your lit review drafted before you met up?

Jaquelinehyde · 08/04/2011 15:26

No I didn't get the lit review drafted but I did write a good plan which basically said what I was going to put in there. I didn't want to go into full draft mode until she had given me the nod .

I'm 100% confident it will be done now she has given it the green light. Grin Came home from Uni though as I fell asleep at my computer and that is never a good sign Grin Grin

Leo - I'm not doing my PGCE now but I do have an interview for one at the end of the month. I'm currently in the final year of a joint hons Education and English Literature degree.

madwomanintheattic · 08/04/2011 15:54

falling asleep at your computer is fine. early night, take a breather, and then crack on. (probably on monday lol, weekends are never a great study opportunity round these parts)

today is my LAST day at work Grin and we've had a spring storm, so my colleague is inching her way up an ice covered highway, and meanwhile i get to open up on my own... unless she calls and says she can't make it, in which case i put up the 'go away, we're not here' sign and come home and drink tea. apparently there are 4 cars in the ditch already and a tailback of about 20kms...

but i'd better make an effort i suppose Grin

winnybella · 08/04/2011 16:16

Where do you live, madwoman?

Well done, jacqueline!

Poor you. Glad to hear that you decided to continue Smile I very much doubt you do badly on your ECA. So did your tutor give you extension on this tma or are you skipping it?
