Hes soooooo gorgeous and hes all mine! I'm on such a high right now, don't know how long it'll last though.

I didn't have to be induced, I didn't even have to wait till my due date a healthy baby and no stitches! I'm ecstatic! The relief of it all being over is wonderful. Now I'm going to concentrate on remembering every last detail of his face before this stage passes away too.

Come on Cha and Ailsa!

Me too Bekki - she is good though, does anyone watch the program?

What size clothes are your little cherubs in these days - Harvey has got his first 3-6 mths on today and I feel quite sad that my little newborn is getting so big now!

His sickiness continues - he is possetting 4 or 5 times between each feed now. Does anyone know how long the effects of the SMA White he had last weekend will last? His poo this morning was quite thick and not a breastmilk poo but he has had nothing but breastmilk all week - could that feed be causing all of this???

Bekki · 27/11/2003 11:00

I doubt it Beccarollo, but I can't really be certain.

Alex is in 0-3 months and probably will be for another month I think. But he tends to shoot up over night so I never know.

I cried on Tuesday as we put his newborn clothes, carrycot and moses basket in the loft, its quite heart breaking.

Alex had a 12 hour sleep last night! It was bliss. I've been using the pick up put down method and it was well worth the aching arms. Fingers crossed he'll go down tonight.

Oh yes I watch the programme. I was a bit of a discovery health addict during my pregnancy. When I woke up in labour at 3am I switched it on and watched 5 hours of births to prepare me.

How are all the September mums and babies? Harvey is 12 weeks old today Got to my target for how long I had HOPED to breastfeed for and no sign of stopping yet so Im chuffed about that.

I think right on cue he is starting the 3 month growth spurt today, fed 3 times in his normal 4 hours stretch earlier - fun and games for a few days!

wiltshire · 02/12/2003 13:18

Greetings to all. Max is 8+4 today and is wearing 0-3/3-6 clothes depending on which shop they come from.

Dh has had to take a couple of days off to look after him as I caught the 'flu'. My temp was 102 and it was awful. I am absolutely petrified that I have given it to Max. Does anyone know if we definitely give our babies everything we catch.

Becca I would imagine that a babies digestive system is faster than ours which is about 48 hours. Probably half that as they only drink milk. Max still feeding every three hours

Me too. Gave Moses basket back this weekend. It was sad but he was starting to poke his fingers into the holes. He went into his cot 2 nights ago. More questions, is he ok to wear a gro-bag? and I keep finding his little hands right through the bars. We are not supposed to use these bumper sets so how do I stop that?

Beccarollo · 02/12/2003 22:44

Wiltshire - yep he is fine for grobag as long as he weighs over 10lbs I think it is!

Harvey had his 2nd jabs today and is much better than last time - a little cry but settled for bed as usual and has been peaceful - he was 15lbs today when he was weighed and stupid health visitor was trying to persuade me to stop breastfeeding him and get him onto solids! He is only 12 weeks for gods sake hehe

Beccarollo · 02/12/2003 22:51

Awwwwwwwwwwwwww I just flipped the thread and read some of the first messages, it has made me cry!!!!!!!

pupuce · 02/12/2003 22:51

Becca - amazing HV......

wiltshire · 03/12/2003 09:12

Have just realised that I am possibly the most crap mum in the world. I put that Max was 8+4. He is, in fact, 9+4. How could I forget a whole week of my little sunbeams life. Especially as it was pointed out to me by ... my next door neighbour.

Bekki · 04/12/2003 19:46

Don't worry Wiltshire. Today a mum at playgroup came up and asked how old alex was, I said 'erm hes either 12, 13 or 14 weeks'. I made a mental note to check before hv came round this afternoon but still didn't. He is 13 weeks and weighs 13lbs 12oz! I've been telling everyone that hes 15lbs!

princesspeahead · 04/12/2003 19:59

hello all! miles is 12.5 weeks and a sweetie pie. still just about in 3 - 6 month clothes but grown out of some of them. he isn't fat, but very long bodied and pops his crotch poppers! lovely. I don't know how much he weighs - he was 13.5 lbs three weeks ago though.
He has got a rather attractive head at the moment - a mix of eczema and cradlecap! If I do anything about the cradlecap it exacerbates the eczema and if I put emollient cream on for the eczema it seems to feed the cradlecap. It isn't just on his scalp but on his forehead and cheeks as well - very flaky. Not sure what to do about it and I think he finds it a bit uncomfy poor thing. Any ideas?

princesspeahead · 04/12/2003 20:00

ooh, and the really exciting thing about him (for my older children anyway), is that if you stick your tongue out at him he sticks his out as well! Have you tried that with yours? very sweet...

melsy · 04/12/2003 20:28

PPH my 11 week old dd has the same problem, I am finding olive oil does the trick. I put it on in the afternoon comb it through (she has a lot of hair!!) and then wash it with 2 washes in the evening.Like u the emolient cream did nothing.

melsy · 04/12/2003 20:32

She hasnt done the tongue thing yet but she had a grunting relay with DH this evening!!!!. It was sooo funny. Every grunt noise he made she copied exaclty back and laughed too.

Beccarollo · 05/12/2003 14:55

Hi guys

Advice please - Harvey was regularly sleeping 10-12 hours a night but has now started requesting a night feed again! He is 12 weeks and 15lbs I am breastfeeding with the ocassionaly bottle. He goes down at about 7-8 and used to sleep til 6-7 but is now waking between 1-3 demanding a feed (no amount of shushing or dummy will get him back and when fed goes straight back to sleep)

What to do?

ANGELMOTHER · 05/12/2003 15:05

Well Ladies if I haven't had a nervous breakdown in the last fe weeks I won't have one. It's been horrendous.
Dh and I have resorted to counselling as things have got so bad between us, it does seem to be working so fingers crossed. My little baby got pneumonia and has been on anti-biotics for a week now so thankfully that's cleared up but she refuses to sleep for any longer than a half hour, it's driving me demented.
Last week at the height of it all, dh was away on buisness for 2 days and while he was away dd1 got sick, racing temperature and vomiting. I spent 2 days going between dd1 and dd2 on my own. Thankfully dd1 is better albeit complaining of pains in her back and legs at the mo, could this be growing pains ????
This morning was dd1's Nativity play, she was the Star really . I got up and started crying as I feel like nothing other than a Mummy machine, dd2 won't let me put her down is tiring herself out to the point of exhaustion (all of us) and WON'T SLEEP FOR LONGER THAN 1/2 HOUR, she's crying again now gotta go

Beccarollo · 05/12/2003 16:59

oh Angel - big big big big hugs from me - it sounds truly horrendous

Please email me if you want to offload/rant/chat whatever - I would be interested to hear about the counselling too

Can you not get someone to have the kids so you can have some me time? You sound like you REALLY deserve and need some
Becca

ANGELMOTHER · 05/12/2003 18:08

Well just back from the GP and it seems that dd2 has a very sore throat, so now along with the antibiotics she's on calpol, poor thing she's only 9 weeks old and is full of medication. At least the calpol will make her sleep some too. I also had the doc check dd1 while I was there and there's nothing wrong there, the whining is just attention seeking I suppose, can't blame her really.
Me time yes Becca, all I wnat right now is a hot bath and some sleep. We're going out on Sunday though, first night out together since dd2 was born, come to think of it first night out together in bloody ages. My sil is babysitting, I'm really looking forward to it actually...Eddie Izzard in Brighton, I booked the tickets ages ago.
Dh and I are "Trying to sort things out", there's so many issues my mind blurs but at my 8 wk check last week (when I found out dd2 had pneumonia) GP could see I was under the weather myself and I told her I was facing immenent (sp) seperation, as that's the way things stood at the time. She suggested counselling which I jumped at and unlike relate where you have to wait AGES for an appointment she said they had a counsellor in the practice who could see us immediately if it was an emergency, which I said it was (about to pack up car and two kids and leave !) and 6 days later we had our first session.
It went quite well and as we are both commited to solving things I think we might be one of the lucky ones so here's hoping. What with everything over the last few weeks I am drained but my Mum is coming over next week for a few days and then I'll head home for Xmas where there will be LOADS of babysitters, so things can only get better, dd2 is now sleeping 30 mins and that's the longest in two days
How are things for you Becca, these men are a law unto themselves aren't they.

ANGELMOTHER · 05/12/2003 18:09

BTW so much for these breastfeeding antibodies

Bekki · 05/12/2003 21:18

becca, he is hungry! Feed him the extra night feed when he demands it, or you could give him the 'dream' feed at 10pm. he might need to be weaned early, but everything that I have read indicates that this is probably just his third growth spurt and that you should carry on feeding as normal. HTH

Bekki · 05/12/2003 21:23

That sounds awful Angelmother. I hope the nativity made up for all the hard mum grafting you've been doing.
It shows alot of commitment on your dh's part to see a counsellr, my dh wouldn't entertain the idea. I think for the moment at least my dh can be taken out of the crap partners club.
Eddie Izzard! dh and I are jealous, do you know where else hes gigging?

elena2 · 05/12/2003 23:11

Yeah, sounds like a growth spurt Becca, go with the flow.
So I'm not the only one who's broody again, despite ds1 being 20 mths, ds2 14 weeks and having PND, am I???!!!

wiltshire · 06/12/2003 03:29

Angel, I hope you get some rest over Xmas, you sound like you need it. Becca, wish I could help you but as you know I am up every 3 hrs anyway. DS temp was over 100 last week and he is now on more antibiotics & tons of calpol. He has been so poorly, poor little bugger. I have a plan in my head for days when it all seems a bit much - think of summer - little chubby arms & legs all over the place & sunhats.AAAAAaaaah! works for me anyhow

Beccarollo · 06/12/2003 11:07

I have the hungriest little boy in the world - DP was looking after him this morning as I was out with the girls last night (v sore head) - anyway he gave him an 8oz bottle and he just wasnt satisfied so I shouted for him to bring him up for me to feed and he drained both boobs as well!! Thats like 2 full feeds in one session?? Also, I put him to bed last night at 7 after cluster feeding all evening and 45 minutes he was inconsolable with hunger, took another feed then settled - how long do growth spurts last? I hope this is a spurt rather than his general new needs - I cant keep up!

Bekki · 06/12/2003 11:25

Growth spurts-a week?
