Gina Ford routines

Hi, I am looking for any advice/experiences from mums who have tried Gina Ford's 7am-7pm routine. my DCs are both at school full time, so when DD2 comes along, I need her to fit in with us, not us be led by her. I am thinking the 7am-7pm routine sounds like one that would work well around school hours, as well as leaving time with the DCs alone after baby has gone to bed.
Also, how easy was it to establish right from the beginning?

Any thoughts?!?

i think also people confuse her with much more rigid (and downright nasty) feeding regimes e.g. Trudy Rubes 4 hourly feeds from newborn with 12 hours alone unfed overnight and only 10 mins a day cuddle time!

someting GF herself is opposed to.

agee mathanxiety cherry picking is the way to go with this stuff...

well, I have the book now, and have started looking at some of the chapters.....one thing I'm not really sure on, is at what point, after returning from the hospital are you supposed to start the routine - straight away or do you get a few days' grace.....!

you can start whenever you like but in my expeience the earlier you start the easier it is.

good luck! Smile

gf is good to read as a rough guideline and something to aim towards after a couple of months, but its not for newborns. i liked jo frosts book on the first year, sorry cant remember title and lent my copy out and never got it back, but op try to read her she is a bit less rigid than gf.
