hello purple hello organic :) nice to see new ppl :) tell us about all your fluffy stash!

that was my thought mumface worked it out to me 2-3 new nappies a month spent of throwing paper ones in the bin Shock (4 packs wipes and 2 packs of despicables a month)

organiccarrotcake · 02/09/2010 09:55

Morning all,

Well first I will say that I sell cloth nappies and run an eco baby store selling organic and fairtrade baby things. However, I am not going to tell you which one as I am not here to promote it but to chat normally! I'm only mentioning it as it is known on other forums and I don't want anyone to ever think I'm trying to underhandedly promote my store.

OK, so I do have a big advantage in that I get nappy samples to try to see if I want to sell them! Which is cool, and especially now I have my new baby I can try them all out Grin. What a great reason to TTC Grin.

I don't know where to start. I have every Mother-ease nappy (all in one, velcro and popper B2P, Sandy's), Bambinex teddy and bamboo, Swaddlebees pocket, Bimbles, Bambino Mio prefolds (mostly used as sick cloths of course), Modern Baby pop-in, Precious microfleece, a new one called Monk N Bear, Tots Bots cotton original (used to have Fluffles - I don't have any of the new Tots ones). I have Tots fleece and PUL wraps, ME AF and Rikki, Bambinex B2P and standard sized and Precious PUL which are rubbish. I used wool with DS1 and will prob get some more again.

I can't think of any more at the moment but I'm sure there are more.

I use fleece liners and wipes.

Question - what's everyone using overnight? DS2 at 8 weeks is getting a nappy on at 10pm and it's not changed until 9am the next day (overnight changes wake him too much and he won't go back to sleep, and he sleeps from 7am to 9am so I get a nap then and don't disturb him! It's a long time for any nappy but he only wets (soaks it of course) and with a Bambinex bamboo, 2 bamboo boosters and a hemo Swaddlebees booster with an airflow wrap his skin stays lovely. But I would be interested in alternatives.

mumface · 02/09/2010 10:12

Oh give us a clue who you are! Hmm, what's the initials of your shop so I can guess?

I am using Drybees fleece pockets and miny-magic-alls at night for convenience, but Connor (14mths) is a light wetter at the moment.
My older 3 and a half year old is in a bit of a trial and error every night, can't get anything to fit/suit him atm! He was in Holdens Landing bedbugs and fleece but they're too much palava when he needs the toilet and Motherease bedwetters are leaking badly on him now and leaving sore thighs.

I read yesterday that Itti bitti can be used as training pants if put on loosly with only one booster inside. Why have I never tried this? Have spent a small fortune on Superundies but they are brilliant!

Thankyou 4 Grin
Silence here, boys back at school/nursery today. Little dudes in bed.

organiccarrotcake · 02/09/2010 10:58

mum DS2 is not a light wetter Grin. We need super-heavy-duty sucking up without bulk coz he's only ickle.

mumface · 02/09/2010 11:24

How about Bitti Boo's? I've got 2 on a prewash right now, they are really slim aswell. You would have to buy 3 sizes though which is a pain.

OP posts:
purpletasha · 02/09/2010 14:18

Am on a trial and error at the mo but have fallen in love with the thirsties :) they are quite slim and fit DS's well......not keen on itti's they have just pee'd right through them.....they may only be 6months but they are quite heavy wetters (must stop bf them so much!) have got tots fluffles and bamboo ones on trial also and quite like the bamboo's....need to get some fleece liners tho as i think they will prob make the boys feel more comfy. Feel like there is so many nappies that i am over whelmed what to use, DD2 used imse vimse and terrys, fuzzi bunz and kooshies which worked fine for her...am looking at the mo for a good overnighter for her tho as she is still not dry at night :( dr says she will get there will just take time but its awful for her to be wet all the time...suggestions please

mumface · 02/09/2010 14:24

Purple- Bitti Boos are Itti bitti's 2 parter nappy not the d'lish All-in-ones so, they are supposed to be very absorbent and good for night. Also Tots Bots stretchy Bamboozles are good for night. How old is your DD?

OP posts:
purpletasha · 02/09/2010 14:55

Its the d'lish they peed thru :)!!! DD is 5 and i ver much doubt i would get her into a bamboozle!! She wears pull ups at the mo but they cost the earth and really she is too bug for them....we have not had one dry night....i didnt have any probs with DD1, its just so frustrating :(

mumface · 02/09/2010 15:54

Someone mentioned Upsey daisy products on here for older children.

bagpuss · 02/09/2010 17:03

Hello organic and hello Purple Smile.

Purple, glad you are loving the Thirsties Grin. I am really missing them now actually, although we would need a bigger size. How are the Ittis on the legs? I found they leaked a bit when they were gappy but were fine once my two chunked up a bit.

Organic, ooh a shop that sounds like heaven for any cloth enthusiast Grin. We use either tots stretchies boosted with a newborn prefold or a nature babies big softie at night. At the moment I still prefer a ME Airflow over the top. I also have a couple of weenotions night nappies but don't find them any better than a boosted day nappy.

Will be back later, one handed typing at the moment - dt2 on knee.

purpletasha · 02/09/2010 20:27

Hi Bagpuss...Thirsties are sooo fab they fit DS's a treat let me know when you are selling some more :)......they soaked right through the ittis right up the front :( dont think they are too big?
Love the one hand typing...do that alot :o
Quite like the bamboozles....not tried the stretchies but think i may :) DH will go mad me buying more nappies :)
Had a look At Upsey daisy mumface, thank you looks like it might be good!!

bagpuss · 02/09/2010 21:09

Purple, sounds like it might be classic boy front wetting then, you could try to get hold of some of the little mini boosters that snap in to the red poppers under the top insert. I've never needed them but I hear they can make a big difference if you have heavy wetters. The tots bots I sent were stretchies but only size one - the size two popper down for BTP type fit but are still quite huge on my two but they take a nice amount of boosting for nights!

CharlottesClan · 02/09/2010 21:58

i have a heavy front wetter, i cant use ittis at all, and ive ever tried boosting them under the ones that go with them and the mini booster.
i also cant use anything minki outers (no wn, or BB for me :( )
and even my bgs and easyfits are being outpeed

ive given up. got like this with ellen as well, but not until she was 2. FC its a stage! so have bought loads of fitteds now. am having to boost my WNNL with EP hemp to get the 4 hours out of them as well now! Shock

cheers for posting that 4 :D looking forward to them.

nursery emailed back to say they cant take CN cos of health and safety Angry well george wont be going there then. looking like its going to be a childminder, as not having any luck and i am not buying disposables. i really wanted him to have children his age to socialise with

mumface · 02/09/2010 22:42

Health and safety? So it's safer to have minging disposibles sitting there all week! Daft. Sounds like a poor excuse to me.

OP posts:
purpletasha · 02/09/2010 22:43

Bagpuss i actually realised after i posted that when i went and lifted them out of the washing machine :) they nearly peed through those tho! "hours max from them...think i may have two problem boys :)
Anyone interested in two ittis :o lol
I have some size 2's in the fluffles but they are still a bit big...can get a bit longer out of them tho so its not all bad,
CC think thats c*&^p of the nursery, DD2 went to nursery and they used CN on her....if they ran out they used to put disposables on but for the most part it was fine.....dont blame you not wanting to send him.
What CN do you use for you DS?

purpletasha · 02/09/2010 22:51

should say 2 hours...tired eyes :o

bagpuss · 02/09/2010 22:55

CC that's disgusting! How can they say that - isn't it discrimination? Hope you manage to get something sorted out though.

Purple, lol, thought I was going mad there! Shock at your boys wetting habits too. I had forgotten how bad it can be. DT2 is not too much of a heavy wetter but my ds2 was quite bad. I still tend to boost every pocket we have to the point of overkill but at least they never leak. Have you tried Easy Peasy hemp boosters? They make everything work and are quite slim for the amount of absorbency. Mind you I seem to remember a few months back I was down to only using two parters or Flip Organic nappies (love these!) in the middle part of the day because the dts would wet a lot during that part of the day, so maybe yours are doing something similar. Mine have settled down a bit now and we only use mainly Tots Easyfits or Flips, although I still like using others in my stash when the mood takes me Grin.

mumface · 03/09/2010 10:35

Tutto's are at Babybots!, I preordered mine from somewhere else and they don't have theirs yet so I have HAD to order another from there as I can't wait Grin
And I got bubblegum as it will be the only colour I don't have and 'real men wear pink' Either that or I am psychologically damaging the poor boy haha Grin

Hi all. This thread had dropped of my list Blush

Have had a stressful time with ill dc's, all ok now we hope.

DD2 asleep under my chin in her MiniLaLa Smile

ziggyf · 03/09/2010 20:31

Ooh I got a Tutto this morning - love it! I can confirm that the 'poo fence' does work Grin

Sorry to crash but I'm stupidly excited about it and DH just thinks I'm wierd.....

purpletasha · 03/09/2010 20:36

mmm getting scowled at by DH who doesnt know why we have to spend sooo much on real nappies, when disposables are easierBiscuit

treedelivery · 03/09/2010 20:38

Hello to organic and purple and ziggyf Smile

My dd1 didn't night train until 5.6 years.

Envy at arrival of Tutto - what colour?

mumface · 03/09/2010 20:38

You're welcome to crash in Ziggy!
I tried a bitti boo today, couldn't believe how tiny the large was, even smaller than an Itti. He had it on 2 hours, no wrap, without it going through. The large wrap looked huge so left it off, probably only need a medium over it.
