Hellooooooo!

OP posts:
LyraSilvertongue · 08/06/2010 15:17

Berrie, we were on the coast near Scarborough. Very pretty area.
Yes, heading back from Paris late-ish on Sunday so I can have a quick look around the city. I can't go there twice in three weeks and see none of the city
After that it's Kings of Leon on the 30th then I have to wait till September for the Wembley Stadium gigs.
What do you think you'll do about work if your job gets cut?

ghostofoggs · 08/06/2010 16:15

I won't be going on the release day, but definitely want to see it at the cinema. When is it released over here?

Berrie, could you do private tutoring?

LyraSilvertongue · 08/06/2010 16:16

Neutron Star Collision
It gets less bad with each listen . The video has clips from the movie in it.

LyraSilvertongue · 08/06/2010 16:19

Last I heard release date was June 30th but it may have changed. Or maybe that's the Us release.

Berrie · 08/06/2010 19:18

I suppose I could but it would be evenings so not really convenient. I couldn't rack up as many hours either.
I guess I'll have to look for a job share or part time position. I could, at a push, try to work out a way to do supply but that would be the worst option because of drop off and picking up. I can arrange pre and after school care if it is a fixed arrangement much more easily. (Don't really want the kids to have to spend up to another 2 hours at school)
I better start doing the Lottery.

Was the sea brown Lyra? It always seems to be brown on the east coast or am I just unlucky? We had a day in the middle of nowhere between Skegness and Mablethorpe.

Ooo I enjoyed that thanks Lyra.
RP doing what he does best...looking pretty and not speaking.

OP posts:
LyraSilvertongue · 09/06/2010 12:20

Glad to be of service, Berrie
As I said it's not their best song so don't go thinking this is representative of them
Will you be going to see the film or will you wait for the DVD? And do you know if they've started shooting Breaking Dawn yet? i haven't been on a Twilight site for ages.

Berrie · 09/06/2010 13:20

No idea about Breaking Dawn but RP has had a new haircut for a different film so maybe not.

I will be able to sit in the cinema this time so am looking forward to that.

Where is everybody?

I have an extremely busy day today (shouldn't be on the computer now but I'm putting it all off).

I have to:

  1. Pack for Paris
Organise directions to hotel and stadium and work out which Metro lines I need to take
  1. Go into town to buy presents for three of DS2's classmates who are having parties tomorrow
  2. Wrap said presents/write cards because DP cannot be trusted
  3. Bake cakes for DS2's class cake sale this afternoon
  4. Buy a rain poncho (because it looks like I'll be standing in an open stadium in the rain for much of tomorrow) and get some money changed into Euros.
  5. Post a stack of magazines to the States and Singapore for Muse fans who weren't able to get them (NME special edition)
  6. Clean the house so it's not a complete bombsite when I get back on Sunday night.

I'm sure there's more to add to the list.

Berrie · 11/06/2010 10:46

Bloody hell.
You'd better get on with it!

OP posts:
Berrie · 11/06/2010 10:46

Have a great time.

OP posts:
ghostofoggs · 11/06/2010 11:30

Bloody hell indeed!

Have a fantastic time Lyra

Dd off today (in-service(?) day). She wants to set up a tent and sleep out tonight on her own in her new sleeping bag

I have mountains of washing to do. Literally. Mountains. No hot water. Need to get the fire going which will mean it will be like a sauna in here

LyraSilvertongue · 11/06/2010 12:20

Packing done.
Directions etc sorted.
Camera ready.

I'm so not going to get it all done. No way is there time to bake cakes. Right, I'm off to town...

ghostofoggs · 11/06/2010 12:34

Buy cakes or buy cakes then decorate them yourself

LyraSilvertongue · 11/06/2010 13:58

Cheap cakes bought (wide profit margin )
Presents and cards bought
Rain poncho and provisions for Eurostar journey bought.
Now to tidy up, the bit I've been putting off...

LyraSilvertongue · 11/06/2010 15:07

House tidied (sort of)
Washing dried
Magazines posted.

I'm getting there.

ghostofoggs · 11/06/2010 17:46

Lyra, you are a veritable whirlwind

Berrie · 11/06/2010 17:50

Good Lord! And there I was feeling pleased that I'd managed a bit of a whip round at lunchtime.

Disposable paper clothes...tis the way forward.

OP posts:
LyraSilvertongue · 11/06/2010 19:26

Paper clothes wouldn't look too stylish though

Presents wrapped, children fed. Can't think of anything else I have to do except have a bath.
Now settling in to listen to a live feed of tonight's gig at the Stade (they're doing two nights) on French radio. I've seen pics of the Stadium on Twitter. It's e-bloody-normous.

LyraSilvertongue · 11/06/2010 19:31

Here I'll be in the front standing area. That weird grey pyramid shaped thing on the far right is the new stage, which looks more impressive at night all lit up.

LyraSilvertongue · 11/06/2010 19:32

Btw it was taken before the support bands came on, which is why the stadium is half empty.

Berrie · 12/06/2010 10:20

Yikes...I hate crowds. Hope you get on ok!

We have the Download festival on at the moment. Bloody noisy! Place infested with youngester who look like I did 20 years ago (and a bit more)

OP posts:
Berrie · 13/06/2010 09:04

Morning.
We have people coming for a BBQ later. YIKES!Not only do we have to clean the house..the bloody garden too.
Oops that reminds me, I need to modify my language. DS said, "Where's my bloody crisps?" last night.

OP posts:
ghostofoggs · 13/06/2010 21:10

How did it go Berrie?
