i was just on the RNW website, and they have some fab ideas for raising awareness of using cloth...

is anyone doing anything?

just looked at what's on in my area... and there's pretty much nothing!

OP posts:
misdee · 17/06/2005 16:46

nothing in my area either.

jessicasmummy · 17/06/2005 16:47

nothing here - although Jess did look SO cute in her new toddler sized Kushies today... so proud of my little girl!

starlover · 18/06/2005 21:16

bit sucky isn't it.

i'm going to parade dd3 around in clinic next week.

took in my forms to claim £40 freom council for using cloth, and lady on the desk knew nothign about it. i juast told her to send it to the waste aware dept as they'd know all about it.

starlover · 18/06/2005 21:21

our council was giving away starter packs worth £100 and i forgot to claim mine. it was only up to 4 months old... but i just sent my form off in the vain hope that it'd be accepted and got my nappies!!!
i am so chuffed!

i am going to decorate DS's pram with nappies, and if it's hot he'll just wear his nappy and a t-shirt.

reminded me i have a form for £30 cashback as well... but need to get it signed by health visitor

OP posts:
misdee · 18/06/2005 21:22

u got them then?

starlover · 18/06/2005 21:25

yeah this massive box arrived and i didn't know what it was and i was SO excited when i opened it! lol

OP posts:
misdee · 18/06/2005 21:26

wish i liveds in your council area. was it pre-folds or what?

bubble99 · 18/06/2005 21:34

Can I be a part-time real nappy user? Or is this encouraging my 4 month old to be the youngest ever fashion victim? Before anyone leaps for my throat I'm being light-hearted in my observation that they do look so much cuter than disposables. Elijah was wearing just a nappy and T-shirt for most of today and, if I'd had any, I would have been tempted to put him in real nappies.

misdee · 18/06/2005 21:40

do u want to try out a couple of tots bots and ME wraps bubble? i am going to be selling my size ones soon, as prefer using size 2's.

bubble99 · 18/06/2005 21:43

I'm mystified by the offer misdee As a horribly poseur-ish potential user I have no idea how these things work. Can I get a Gucci version?

starlover · 18/06/2005 21:44

no! i thought it was going to be cottom bottoms.
but it was 5 sandys, 5 MEOS, 2 motherease wraps, disposable liners, tea tree oil and a baby wipe!

bubble... feel free to join us! btw... when was elijah born? if it was feb, then you should join our feb post-natal thread!

OP posts:
misdee · 18/06/2005 21:45

haha. i onyl have plain wet wraps suitable for your ds. unless you fancy some pink gingham wrap .

seriosuly i can send you 2 nappies and one wrap. just send them back when your done. unless he is monster huge baby by now.

misdee · 18/06/2005 21:46

dd3 was born feb, but i am on the m,arch board as she was due then and had already got to know everyone on there.

bubble99 · 18/06/2005 21:47

I'll do that starlover, as long as it's a good old rowdy thread

starlover · 18/06/2005 21:48

yeah.. i made friends on the due in Jan thread, but DS came late, so we joined the Feb post-natal one!!!

OP posts:
misdee · 18/06/2005 21:49

i just cant tear myself away from the march board . will pop into the feb one.

btw the fuzzi turned up. its lovely.

starlover · 18/06/2005 21:51

oh excellent... glad you liked it

OP posts:
misdee · 18/06/2005 21:53

i like fuzzi's. was never able to get nappies big enough for dd2 so stucks with tots bots size 3 and ME wraps. so am making up for saviung moeny with dd2 and spending lkoads on dd3 lol.

starlover · 18/06/2005 21:54

i love them... they're expensive though. but it's nice not to have to bother with separate wrap sometimes isn't it

OP posts:
misdee · 18/06/2005 21:56

they are good for days out. have been using fuzzis and womnderoos all day today as was at mieows.

the shaped and wraps hold more tho i find. and containment is better.

starlover · 18/06/2005 21:56

yeah i agree with B/F poo especially! DS is mixed fed now, and we've started weaning... so not so much leaky poo!!!

OP posts:
misdee · 18/06/2005 21:58

i put on a medium the other night as thought dd3 was big enough. poo all over my jeans and the throw on the sofa . that one is going back in the cupboard for a bit longer.
