aha.... i like that site misdee - have added it as a favourite! Love the look of the wonderoos!!!

starlover · 18/06/2005 22:33

i have one wonderoo... they're similar to fuzzi bunz which i use mostly. nice because they dry much quicker than all-in-ones, but just as easy to use!

added that site as a favourite too - why is there so much choice?!

starlover · 18/06/2005 22:41

so that you will buy one of EVERYTHING! lol

and be skint?! At least i know if i buy now, when number 2 arrives i wont have to worry again!

Still got about 30 size 1 kushies upstairs!

misdee · 18/06/2005 22:43

wonderoos are good, i have 2, not my favourite nappies, prefer the fuzzis and totsbots/ME wraps. think its the cost of the wonderful inserts that puts me off. i just use different inserts now.

jessicasmummy · 18/06/2005 22:45

i do wonder why they are so expensive... surely if the cost of real nappies was to fall, more people would use them?

5 toddler size kushies is £55! I got mine of another mnetter for £30 brand new, not opened pack, but it is scary to think they are SO expensive!

pootlepod · 18/06/2005 22:46

But I think disposables are expensive, it's just you don't have to buy them all at once.

pixiefish · 18/06/2005 22:47

contact a nappy agent

you can see, touch and discuss your needs before you buy. I would advise anyone thinking of cloth to contact an agent. the nappies are the same price as the site and you don't have to buy everything through them- just get yourself started

misdee · 18/06/2005 22:47

i got a lot of mine this time 2nd hand. and will sell them on afterwards as well. that why we are using them to their fulkl potnetial. i think the only ones i wont be able to sell are dd2 old size 3, they are so worn out, some ven have holes, most have bald patches . thats 18months of only have 10 nappies and washing and drying them every other day.

jessicasmummy · 18/06/2005 22:47

disposables are expensive, but you can get them cheaper... and it is handy to spread the cost, but thats why i want to start upping the toddler sizes ive got.

Got loads of size 1's and swear by them.

pixiefish · 18/06/2005 22:48

you could traqnsfer to cloth over a few weeks so that the cost isn't so much pootle

misdee · 18/06/2005 22:48

i sit and think, a bumper pack of pampers, i could buy one new tots for the price of those and it'l llast me longer.

jessicasmummy · 18/06/2005 22:49

i got the majority of my first size ones second hand off ebay. and they were still fantastic - not one had a mark on them. Definately worth the money but its getting the money in the first place!!!

misdee · 18/06/2005 22:49

i hjave some toddler size kooshies. didnt like them myself, had them as back ups if the tots werent dry in time. plsu they were easier for dd2 short time at nursery.

jessicasmummy · 18/06/2005 22:51

i dont know whether its because it was the first nappy i tried or what but i get on really well with kushies. Might be a different story with the new baby of course nad just HAVE to go and buy lots of gorgeous tots bots!!!

misdee · 18/06/2005 22:52

of course you will, and your baby will look like the one on the fairy bottle.

jessicasmummy · 18/06/2005 22:54

LOL! Just tried to show DH the sites and he was like, yeah, nice.... I WILL PERSUADE HIM! He's really good about using the kushies, but doesnt liek forking out - typical man huh!

misdee · 18/06/2005 22:56

yup. dh tells me off each time i get another parcel. just told i was ordering kore nippas, whicfh is fine as they are cheap, but oh look, more wonderful inserts are in the basket as well.....

pootlepod · 18/06/2005 22:56

Sorry, I am actually a closet-clothie, was trying to say (badly) that although it would be nice if real nappies were cheaper; they are actually very cost effective, particulary if you can use again/sell on/buy second hand.

jessicasmummy · 18/06/2005 22:58

I dont mind forking out for them, but i think MORE people would use them if they were slightly cheaper....

misdee · 18/06/2005 22:58

i am going to contact the waste aware team and ask for more of the council leaflets to see if i can take them to clinic with me on weds.

jessicasmummy · 18/06/2005 23:00

that would be good - im not sure if my council do anything - will ahve to look into it!
