When I was in Ischia I got chatting to a man on the beach, British (Londoner in fact, with an accent identical to my Grandad, and grew up round the corner). Anyway, he'd been here for 30 years (small town in Campania) and we agreed that the quality of life here was better, the food and climate. His son emigrated to Brasil though as he couldn't get a decent job. He'd applied several times to work in the NATO base but didn't get in, despite being the only one that spoke english.

Morning.....You see, Puglia and its miscreants even make it to Santoro! (watched until 10pm then dp got fed up with me saying "what did he say?" and so went to bed)

I agree with most of your points Min, but not the unemployment statistics, we have to remember that to be a statistic you have to be signed on a form somewhere, and I'd bet most of the unemployed in the south aren't, and so don't figure in the stats....

Dd is 6 today! Have promised trip to toyshop this evening (to spend double on bloody cuccioli cerca amici than I would in the UK ) Party is booked for the 13th so have lots of time to make canapes and freeze them!

Lol- at least they are small Franca, and house isn't taken over by huge pink plastic monstrosities.....(we've so far avoided cuccioli houses etc as all of Dds live in her ELC mermaid world, which is wooden, so nicer.....)

first morning I felt cold taking DS to school... my ears are still hurting an hour later!! and I'm so tired, dd kept on waking up, then in our bed and she finally fell asleep across my pillow, so I haven't slept at all... poor DP is working til 1am tonight too...

anyway, didn't want to carry on with depressing berlusconi stuff, but just couldn't resist posting this,
best part is the last minute, funny and sad...

Lol at pink plastic monstruosities!!!! Although DD is small yet I am already worried re: Winx invasion (aka "zoccole" according to my 27YO sis)

Hope miniRosa is feeling better! MiniMinerva also down with a cold and a cough and not sleeping very well, joy.

And yes - this am is cold, but still sunny, even in the rainy Northeast. I had actually forgotten how nice the weather is in Italy - I was expecting to wear jumpers and coats by now...

LOL Camo! Made me chuckle.Happy Birthday mini Buch! loads of zanzare here as well. They are truly evil at the moment. We have one of those electric light zapper things (for want of the correct name)and every half hour or so there is the sizzle of roasting zanzara!

Pass the matchsticks...... Was sponging her down at 1 am then the Nuroflex kicked in and she was bouncing off the cot ..NOte give Tacchip at night as obviously has less sugar ! She bounced for an hour then gave in and slept and woke every 40 mins. Febbre again this morning she is a bit tired but eating and bouncing !!! Friend says it just shows what a good diet I feed her as she is not used to the sugar ( but in that small a quantity ???)
DD1 has a liquid bum and her cough is still grasso boh !
Had a bit of rain here so that cleared the air and its fresh and warm - lovely ! AM stuck inside .
LOL at plastic as much as I try the cheap plastic braclets and stuff are the one thing she keeps digging out - I hate the Winx with a passion...Not that fond of Hello Kitty either and it is so silly expensive .
