LOL at 'concrete overcoat time' sputnik. (maybe we shouldn't laugh so much though )

Bucharest · 14/10/2009 21:03

...and dp back from Guardia Medica as even HardEnglishMummy flapped a bit at the fact that dd has 39.7 and is deliriously talking utter bollocks at us.....looks like I might be joining the matchstick brigade tomorrow...

MM- I imagine Geneva to be all blue skies and lovely chalet houses and crisp clean air....like a mineral water advert....

Which reminds me, who is it singing the national anthem on that advert? It's a woman, she sings it very slowly- it sounds a bit like Giorgia....I really like it.... (maybe the delirium is catching...)

My friend's little boy (dd's sometime fidanzato, although she chucked him last w/e as she said he was pesante) told his mum today he might be fidanzato to BullishGirl now....his Mum said, fair enough, if it's a bodyguard you're after.....Her Mum (BullishGirl) is going to ring me tomorrow with the compiti as it doesn't look like we'll be back for a while....(my friend also daid dd had obviously got a febbre because she cried at the party.....)

francaghostohollywood · 14/10/2009 21:08

Oh no bucharest, what did the doctor say?

I imagine Geneva full of really posh period buildings... a bit like paris. I wouldn't mind to be house hunting there. It is depressing here. I feel in love with a flat which is ridicolously overprized(and we can't afford) and even need doing up!

Bucharest your collection of school friends etc is ! We want more!!!

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 14/10/2009 21:08

Oh sputnik how do I understand you. We had a period, just after we finished refurbishing the house, that trips to ikea occurred almost daily. Both my mother and father, here on hol around that time separately, were taken there a few times during their short stay and both complained commented that all they saw of london was ikea! How sad. It is the 00s reality.

francaghostohollywood · 14/10/2009 21:08

fell

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 14/10/2009 21:11

Oh Buch, what's happening. Are you waiting for them? Is she staying in? Yes what did the doc say? Poor dd! at crying at a party (which child does not cry at a party at some point or other?)

francaghostohollywood · 14/10/2009 21:11

I sort of envy you, as dh hated going to ikea and resisted as much as possible. Plus our local ikea in the uk was in bristol , 1.5 hr drive from home. His refusal to go to ikea caused thousands of litigi.

Bucharest · 14/10/2009 21:13

It's her usual tonsilitis...luckily it was our medico di famiglia doing the GM tonight, and she said it must be serious if even I'd sent dp out! Sent him actually, because tomorrow morning the paed is on, but we're a piedi so there is no way I could take dd to the studio......

I do love IKEA though....how sad are we getting when we drool over good storage.....

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 14/10/2009 21:15

Well our ikea is 25 min away on a bad traffic day, 15 otherwise. It is known by the dd as 'Ristorante dei Bimbi'. Pathetic.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 14/10/2009 21:17

The love it btw. DH used to love it, now he's not so keen on going because at weekend is a nightmare. but early morning on a rainy weekday it can resolve your day - and your livingroom (that could be an add)!

francaghostohollywood · 14/10/2009 21:20

Have never taken the dc to ikea !!!

Camomilla · 14/10/2009 21:25

back from Ikea too , had to go check if I liked the doors DP had seen for the pax for our bedroom, but as minicamo had refused to sleep all day, I should have known better... she had a ball there with the pots and pans, and enjoyed her meatballs (£3.95 fed the 3 of us including dessert for me and Ds and coffee for me!!), anyway, DD started crying in the car, histerical by the time we goot in the house, then DS started crying as he'd "lost his pj to" (it'd just fallen on the floor when he pucked up the bottoms). DD has only just stopped now (really don't understand what's wrong with her, gave her calpol just in case), my head is pounding, my tooth hurts, haven't washed my hair/tidied the house up/got my stuff ready for work tomorrow, just hope we can have a decent night as got sooooo much to do in the morning before going to work (don't dare making any noise atm!) and DP won't be back til 12.30-1am.

bucharest, hope DD's better.

franca, glad you're better, is DH resuscitato too ?

Camomilla · 14/10/2009 21:30

Ikea was one of DS's first words, and you know that most children are conceived on ikea beds? after getting stressed tonight I sadi that I wasn't going to take the DC to ikea again (meant nnot on my own) and DS went ot bed crying because "I love Ikea and you said we're not going ever again"

francaghostohollywood · 14/10/2009 21:31

Bucharest, does she need ab with tonsillite? Poor girl!

Camo, you are a brave woman ! Oh I love the meatballs, but my fav has to be the hot dog for 90 cent!

Lol at your ds, ds is the same he usually "looses" socks

francaghostohollywood · 14/10/2009 21:32

I now feel guilty for having deprived mine of the ikea experience. Should i take them asap?
What if they chain themselves to the TROFAST range?

francaghostohollywood · 14/10/2009 21:33

This summer when we were driving to trieste and playing that game 20 points if you spot a camper van etc etc ds exclaimed "20 points if you see an IKEA" , it must be in their DNA!

Camomilla · 14/10/2009 21:35

maybe ikea are really subtly taking over the world, influencing kids' subconcious so young til mr ikea will rule the world

francaghostohollywood · 14/10/2009 21:38

Can you imagine the world ruled by ikea?
It'd be certainly clutter free.
And meatballs for everyone...

Camomilla · 14/10/2009 21:43

they alreay own 80% of the world's wood... but, oh, everything nice and tidy stored away in boxes, pax and bbillys

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 14/10/2009 22:06

Do they? Own 80% of the world's wood, I mean. Gosh! Isn't it sad?
And yes dd1 might have been conceived in an ikea's bed, however hard DH and I want to believe it was a much more romantic/exotic place.

francaghostohollywood · 14/10/2009 22:09

Gosh 80% is a lot, it is sad.

pippi!!! It can lead to very interesting name choices (the ikea equivalent of Brooklyn )

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 14/10/2009 22:11

Franca I would have never have said!

Bigpippi once saw a bedroom in the showroom that was 1/100th the size of her bedroom, which is also full of ikea pax, shelves, tat and she said 'mamma puoi far venire i signori a farmi la camera come questa di questa bimba perche' questa e' proprio bellissima' (sic) .
Now she even asks to stay in Smaland.
