Quick to say that Mc went to a grammar and then to Cambridge University. His dad was an engineer and wonderful creative man. So he could be either, couldn't he? And he never flies because of the environment. That makes him sound like not a tory? He hates suburbia and loves the countryside.

MM I am Not an intellectual, I am reading W&P cause I want to know who Natasha finally shacks up with. Maybe now you are older MM you will enjoy the battle scenes, they are really good and even I understand them.

Banks is witty and fun, I got rid of her books once I read them as i knew i would not re-read, but I liked her lots and would read her future ones.

Glad minirosa is bouncing back.

francaghostohollywood · 09/10/2009 16:11

Poor Mcc. By the way, I prefer you in your Javier Bardem suit. He is, lets face it, sexier

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 09/10/2009 16:20

okay I have got two seconds:

never heard of M Bank but will look it up

Camo yes I think she has always been teething!!!! Oh fingers crossed!!!

McC yes ot is one of those but will tell you the result tomorrow

custard in the oven

rosa yes buy - no harm in frech and eng, bigpippi had lots and seems 'normal' to me

must go

Camomilla · 09/10/2009 16:38

always do franca, but for some reason prefers daddy - every time he walks out of a room she cries or follows him... got 2 daddy's kids... prob cos mummy's always busy with MN house/work and so can't play as much

and she's now gone in the cupboard and running to the living room with a pack of biscotti plasmon in her hand!! better catch her... cheeky.

she's just spen 10 mins laughing her head off because she's found standing on all 4s and lookink at me upside down through her legs hilarious

pippi - fingers crossed - and hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm custard.... che languorino adesso...

francaghostohollywood · 09/10/2009 17:01

Oh I know you do sweetheart. And I'm sure she adores you, tis just one of the million funny stages...
and she must be uber cute with the plasmon biscuits etc

minervaitalica · 09/10/2009 17:52

Camo,

I know what you feel re: being daddy's girl... When daddy or Grandad are around I may as well not exist for DD. Actually even Grandma is probably more fun than mummy.

Very impressed by everyone's culinary efforts. Would kill for a curry tonight actually. Instead it's spinach soup as DD will deffo eat that.

Mmm, I should stop looking at Tory threads as they piss me off. What's all this Oxbridge bashing anyway?

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 09/10/2009 18:14

yup curry is the thing I miss the most when in italy.

fish stew tastes good for now... mind you a lot of work - have parked kids in front of tv for a loooong time and fed them pane e salame , big dd is frrding minidd [double ] - much easier the pesce arrosto I bet, oh well.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 09/10/2009 18:16

Oh and I love it whe they are daddy/nonna/nanny's girls so that I can have a break from the "MAMMAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!! MAMMAAAAAAA!!!!!!!"

Sputnik · 09/10/2009 18:28

Yes mine are both mummy's children, would like a break. Well actually DD does do loads with DH when he's available, but its still forever "mummeeeeeeeee".

Pippi your DD sounds like mine, she is always telling me how someone at school was up to something naughty and she ran and told the teacher.

Her class did a little play at assembly today (poud mummy moment).

Yes Il Duce is defiitely a contender for Berlusca's penis. Or possibly something really retch-worth like Pinocchio. Sorry, I have been thinking about this on an off all day.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 09/10/2009 18:50

Sputnik LOL at 'I have been thinking about this on an off all day.'

FUCK! hAVE JUST CHANGED INTO SMTHING sorry decent and picked up minipippi who had a poo and must have smeared, sorry tmi, some on me 'cause I can smell it but not see it. Oh never again. !

JavierBardem · 09/10/2009 19:22

Lol I have been thinking about b's penis too, dp thinks it might be "little Silvio", i think he probably calls it "Silvio uno" or "Big Silvio" .

Poo smears on me too today, at least my soiree is me and dp for a dvd night, not a proper soiree. I love my weekend evenings cuddled up with him on the sofa. [love emoticon]

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 09/10/2009 19:34

what movie?

cannot call it little silvio as how small can that be then compared to him .

fish thing tastes divine.

ciao

JavierBardem · 09/10/2009 19:47

Coup de torchon, a French thriller!

Let us know how the dinner went!

Sputnik · 09/10/2009 20:39

Silvio 2 surely, alla Milano 2

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 09/10/2009 22:44

Fish a great success. The home made custard even better (espacially considering it was easy peasy)! I feel all stepfordy proud - my guns 'n' roses rebellious teenager self would feel quite disappointed though on how wifery I turned out...che tristezza!
Had great time though!

Camomilla · 09/10/2009 23:17

glad you got your yummy and fun time pippi. what's thee custard recipe?

god I hate these lonely long nights going up and down the stairs to comfort dd or tell ds he needs to sleep and that no, he won't see daddy tonight, but he'll see him first thing in the morning.... and we still haven't got locks (or handles!!) in the conservatory doors (the whole thing is doors!!) so I'm constatly cr*ping myself

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 10/10/2009 09:24

Pippi's Baked Custard: heat 150ml of whole milk and 300ml of single cream with some lemon zest, add 50gr caster sugar and mix. Add 2 whole eggs + 2 yolks already whisked to the mixture. Cook for few minutes whisking. Pour on a ovenproof dish. Half fill a bigger ovenproof dish with water and place the other dish in it. Bake in the oven at 115degrees till the custard is set on the sides but still a bit wobbly in the middle (it takes quite a long time). Take out and let it cool.

Recipe said to keep in the fridge for at least 3 hours but we left it out and ate it after a couple of hours and was deeeeelicious. Oh I forgot, thing it also said to put nutmeg on which I forgot and the lemon is my idea.

Rosa · 10/10/2009 12:27

Don't know about the rest of Italy but Oh boy is it chucking it down here...
Glad it was a success Pippi My gandma used to do baked custard when we were ill - she had an aga oven so perfect for that. My oven burns custard or anything that has to be done low ish so I tend to cheat and do a packet custard ( with little / no sugar ) and fruit and then wack dem sugar on top and put under the grill. Mind you desserts in this house are banned!
I was thinking El Toro for Silvios friend.
DO you think he has pics of Rosy Bindi incase he needs inspiration/ encouragement ???

mmmmm that sounds lovely Pippi. May try it myself this weekend.
Am totally pissed off with DP. (warning-big rant coming-feel free to skip). He has contributed NOTHING to ds's birthday plans for tomorrow. This morning he was still in bed at 11 because was out late with mates last night-I was up with ds at 7 as normal. I have been shopping to get stuff for the party tomorrow. I have got all the presents sorted and wrapped, organised party blah blah. He invited FIL round for lunch yesterday and I suggested it may not be a good idea as I was going to cake baking and also house cleaning as is looking like party may be moved indoors due to rain.I suggested that he, ds and FIL went out to eat to give me space. Then this morn ds was being moany and tired so I said at midday maybe it's not a good idea to take him out, he seems tired and I got a whole "quanto sei complicata" attack. Lost my rag and told him to go out with his Dad and leave ds with me-is less stressful for me that way.
AIBU to a) wish he had said just once "right what do we still need to do for his birthday and what can I do to help" and b) that I don't get the blame for changing plans to adapt for a small child who we want to keep sweet today so is on form tomorrow?????

Rosa · 10/10/2009 13:35

Gio completley understand I know exactly what you mean. Often I find that as well . SO breathe, put ds in front of Thomas and then get on with what you have to do . Then when you dh sees what a fab festa you have organised if he DARES take any credit prod him in the goolies with the cake knife!
I am just so pleased with Amazon - ordered :
the play table £22 for minirosa, 2 books for dd £6 , a Tomy extension track for nephew ( mad on Thomas.) A Thomas backpack and 4 pram hooks ( for hanging bags off the buggy ) total £70 including postage !!!!!!!!!!
The track and the back pack in Italy alone were Euro 70 !!!!
Gio I hope this rain misses you .....

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 10/10/2009 13:58

Gio YANBU at all.
Smthing similar could/had/will happen in the pippi's household on a regular basis.
To be honest except for opt a) anything that my DH dares say after I have singlehandedly organised smthng (with both dds in tow), say yesterday dinner party/holiday/trips/birthday party, would get roaring tiger reaction from me too!

Happy birthday to ds btw.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 10/10/2009 13:59

good buy Rosa! was it xmas pressies? already trying to organise myself.

JavierBardem · 10/10/2009 14:57

Gio YANBU, I do everything here too.

I am also sorting out pressies for xmas already, so i can get cheap/2nd hand etc. Saddo of a housewife. Nothing for dd I have decided as we will repackage some of ds' stuff. She doesn't play with her toys anyway, keeps stealing ds'stuff or MINE.

Did you give us the menu of your fish stew damon? Cannot remember...can we have it otherwise?

JavierBardem · 10/10/2009 14:58

Lol at 'trying to organise myself". THAT'S MEEEEE! Better clean now. [bored emoticon]

gio71 · 10/10/2009 16:03

thanks girls . nearly had a nervous breakdown about an hour ago as sodding Nigella cake was not cooking in middle at all but seems ok now, 2nd half in oven and brownies made. DS bless his heart decided to sleep for 2.5 hours this pm and dp was out so feel less shrill now!
am very much considering doing ds's xmas ebay. And dp will be lucky if he gets xmas!
Rosa Amazon is fab isn't it. I rarely buy anything from anywhere these days without checking out price on Amazon and ebay first!
