OP posts:
francaghostohollywood · 08/10/2009 21:21

And obviously at mc cloud being naughty. What makes you think that? ahhhh you make me lol mcc!

francaghostohollywood · 08/10/2009 21:23

That's my top tip too Sput . But tomorrow is some colleagues of dh I've never met.
I'm actually contemplating of selling a kidney and buy everything already made by peck... but that's not fair play, is it?

francaghostohollywood · 08/10/2009 21:24

but tomorrow is some colleagues... is actually great english, isn't it sorry!

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 08/10/2009 21:25

Well Franca no one dares say it... apparently no one will give you a 'label' till at least 4/5yo. But yes when she gets a cold and cough she seems to struggle. We have got the inhaler but if that doesn't help it's a trip to the ward. Hope not as I am shattered and had miniargument with dh (who is tired and stressed and coughy too) so not in the mood. Fingers crossed girls.

francaghostohollywood · 08/10/2009 21:30

Really? Why is that?
Oh dear, i hope she'll be all right tonight poor thing, it must be so scary for them (and the parents, of course)

Sputnik · 08/10/2009 21:31

Yes fingers crossed for min pippi too.
Oh god, we have a long winter ahead, last one was a nightmare for me. Hopefuly it'll be a bit better this year.

That said, we are still having beautiful days here, upper 20°'s, my favourite!

francaghostohollywood · 08/10/2009 21:37

Yes, I'm dreading the winter too.
Beautiful days here as well, perfect weather really. The children are still in their tshirts... it is unusual for milan (but I like it!)

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 08/10/2009 21:56

Yes Sputnik my friend always does that and it is great. They did offer but my reply is 'naaaa it'll be okay' but I secretely worry that I have overstretched myself.

When my lovely MIL comes for the weekend she bring lunch for dinner for both evenings for everybody, a home made pudding, sugar and tea bags (she's terrified I have only earl gray or 'funny tea' as she calles it )

........

dd2 woke up breathless. a close call.

..........

changing to more mundane stepfordy subjects: do you or would you tip the shopping delivery guy?

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 08/10/2009 21:58

great weather here too, sunny. english kids with t-shirts and bare legged, mine with jumper, giacchetta (and gloves early morning as dd was complaining while riding her scooter).

francaghostohollywood · 08/10/2009 22:08

Awww your mil sounds lovely (and yes, I've never got why earl grey is so undervalued in the UK, is it because it's weak?)

Hope dd has a good night pippi.

Ah no idea re the tip as I never get the shopping delivered . Maybe if they are particularly nice? (or good looking?)

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 08/10/2009 22:10

tastes funny, apparently!

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 08/10/2009 22:11

very nice, not goodlooking though. Penteh sure knows, and I bet she tips them.

Sputnik · 08/10/2009 22:12

Your MIL is right, it tastes funny. Why ruin decent tea I say!

francaghostohollywood · 08/10/2009 22:14

lol, see? . I love earl grey... but I',m equally happy with tatleys.

Sputnik · 08/10/2009 22:18

I have fond memories of "My Mum's" super economy tea we used to get at the corner shop whn we were students. Can't get decent tea here.

francaghostohollywood · 08/10/2009 22:24

was it really called My Mum's? !

I'm going to bed now, ciao

gio71 · 08/10/2009 22:26

PG Tips, the only tea to drink. Family bring out huge boxes every visit or they will be turned away! Earl Grey tea doesn't lend itself to being a builders brew so I can't consider it tea-it's an alternative hot drink!
Pippi hope minipippi is ok. Rosa if minirosa is sweating that hopefully means fever should be on it's way out.
Had argument with horrible woman 2 floors down from us, insisting she was being disturbed by ds running around at 11 at night! I told her he is in bed by 9.30 every night (a major step forward for us, 6 months ago she would have had a point some nights!). She insisted I was lying!!!! Am I really out of order to say she is a typically bitter looking older lady with no children! Is that really patronising or is it allowed as she attacked me unjustly first?
Think Fini is looking more Brutus like by the hour.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 08/10/2009 22:30

Gio I think 'vecchia zitella' will be quie apt, or Rottermeier will do the trick. Not sure it's PC but I wouldn certainly care. There are many unPC ways I'd like to call my neighbours often times.

Off to bed too now, hopefully till tomorrow morning but not too much hope somehow.

ciao.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 08/10/2009 22:31

apologies about typos but too tired/grumpy to pay the little attention I normally do. To think I was quite a pedant once...ah the days.

Sputnik · 08/10/2009 22:34

No that's allowed. How would she hear him 2 floors down anyway? I hope my lot don't bother people downstairs, I am constantly reminding them. Hopefully they are tolerant, as they have a DS about the same age as mine. Our neighbour to the side is lovely and can't get nough of our DCs, luckily.

Franca, there was a whole range of "My Mums" products, including bread, jam etc. Wonder if they still exist?

Should go to bed too really.

Bucharest · 09/10/2009 08:12

Yorkshire Tea here.....so strong you can use one teabag twice....I like my tea the colour of Fini's tan.

I reckon Silvio calls his willy Il Duce.

Hope Mini-Pippi is better....we seem to have a lot of mini-Italy-poorly-ones at the moment....

Obviously it's still boiling here (even for the natives- people in the sea and everything) I keep putting dd a vest on, more to soak up the sweat in school than because she needs one! (see, I am becoming Italian!)

Found myself at the bottom of the school stairs with the 3 grezze this morning- not a Buon Giorno, nada....on a cultural level they'd give my MIL a run for her money
Then the really nice mother came, and started saying to them about dd's party and buying one present....prior to this I'd heard them saying "oh, did you see the party invitation, ma tu devi andaaaaaare?" and the others were replying "boh, no lo so, vediaaaaaaamo" and I was thinking "good! don't come! pah!" but when Nice Mother was talking about the present, all 3 were "si, va bene, si, facciamo cosi" (see, they haven't even got the ooomph to actually say "we won't be going because we're oiks who'll be sitting on the pavement smoking with our equally fat mothers while our kids run riot through the centro storico" I told one kid off this morning- child-of-grezza, he is always thumping everyone else, so I told him "basta con le mani!"

gio71 · 09/10/2009 09:01

LOL at tea the colour of Fini. Agree completely. DP is STILL unable to make a decent cup of tea despite my lessons and me pointing out that had I been as crap at learning to make un vero caffè Italiano he would have left me years ago! Usually starts bleating about how tea should have lemon in!
Oh I want to be in the sea in Puglia . Wanted to go the beach this weekend but have ds birthday party on Sunday- in the park- it was forecasting rain but now is looking dry but a bit cloudy- lets see how many of the kids are allowed to come to the park if there have been the forecast showers over night......
My dishwasher has broken . I am distraught .
I reckon il Duce ....Think he is seriously losing the plot, was reading Guardian editorial on him this morning. When a catholic newspaper describes their buddies as taking Italy to the edge of a precipice you have to wonder where we are heading...
Well done Buch for disciplining child-of-grezza

gio71 · 09/10/2009 09:02

lol at vecchia zitella Pippi. How is minipippi and minirosa this morn?

gio71 · 09/10/2009 09:03

ps how many smileys can I use in one post?????looks ridiculous and like the post of a 13 year old girl!

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 09/10/2009 09:21

LOL gio!

Minipippi slept very well and seems much better thank you.

well done for some discipline Buch.

I have been told that some boys in dd1 class have already been sent to the headmistress for misbehaving. Some mums were shocked. Should I be? Is it too much too early?

must go and hide the mess and dirt clean for tomight.

a dopo
