francaghostohollywood · 06/10/2009 22:25

I still have meters of fabric from ikea and haven't figured out what to do with it yet.

Camomilla · 06/10/2009 22:25

wow, packs of tamiflu? very considerate company he works for, Mr Sputnik

Camomilla · 06/10/2009 22:27

franca, at least you don't know what to do with, it, I spent hours deciding on the fabric with the intention of making something, and it's still all there! had so many good intentions to do stuff whilst on mat leave and done nothing!

Sputnik · 06/10/2009 22:29

I am getting bored with Ikea, as DH won't let me spend any money unless absolutely necessary. However, when I get paid for this job I just finished I am going straight there to buy one of those stripy rugs you have Franca.

So the dog shit is bad in London too eh?
Where I was living before there was hardly any, but I think that's more because fewer people have dogs there, although I know there was an ordinance of the Comune that you could be fined if you were walking your dog and didn't have a plastic bag with you.

Camomilla · 06/10/2009 22:29

oh, and DSis si e' laureata ieri, apparently left the professori stunned according to one of them she met afterwards (well, she could sell ice to penguins, as they say, la parlantina non le manca )

francaghostohollywood · 06/10/2009 22:32

I bought it to make a roman blind for the bathroom, but I always hope to find another flat and haven't got round doing it.
Not that I can make curtains. Mil does, my intention is to watch and learn.
Have been meaning to do a sewing course, but can't find anything for a principiante like me.

Have to go to bed now... it's late here , notte!

francaghostohollywood · 06/10/2009 22:34

Oh congratulations! e brava camo's sis !

Sput, yes, the catalogue wasn't that inspiring this year, was it? I like the desks, I love to get the dc proper desks, but no space here at the mo

notte ragazze!

Camomilla · 06/10/2009 22:34

full of dogs (pitbull type stuff) here. once at the park there was a group of teenagers planning a fight between their dog and s.one else's - I dount they've ever thought about carrying a plastic bag - not that there's shortage of poo-bins! and then don't get me started on big dogs at the park with no lead and museruola!

francaghostohollywood · 06/10/2009 22:35

I'd love

Sputnik · 06/10/2009 22:38

Not a company, as such. this is what he does.

Sputnik · 06/10/2009 22:39

MIL just made curtains for us, result!
Damn, just remembered we should've bought a curtain rail.

Camomilla · 06/10/2009 22:41

notte franca. and yes, I told DP this is the desk top I want in my office (Camo's dreaming again...)

Sputnik · 06/10/2009 22:45

We got a desk like that, but plain. I would've gone for the pattern if it had been me.

Camomilla · 06/10/2009 22:50

you tube not working tonight on this can't see any of the links...

it's a nice pattern, different. mum or mil normally take care of my curtains... I have a sewing machine a plenty of good intention, just short on time!

anyway, night night my ladies, another hard day tomorrow....

gio71 · 07/10/2009 07:32

at Mr Sputnik who am guessing works at that place connected with food at Circo Massimo on metro B am I right? Has long been my dream to work there but as I seem to have no relevant skills a dream it will no doubt remain
Well done Camo sis!!
How's minirosa's chest Rosa?
Glad to see you all agree with me re amico del cuore at this age. Buch did you have dd's party-did I miss you saying about it?? I have ds's on Sun and had better start thinking re cake blah blah

Bucharest · 07/10/2009 08:02

Morning all......

Very thought-provoking Youtube Sputnik.....

Argh to compiti- there's me a month ago thinking ooooooh, all afternoon free, what will we do with ourselves....pah! Whilst the maestra at the meeting said we didn't have to worry about our child's progress (which I'm not, it's more a case of ticking the box that says "homework done?" to get dd to sit down and do it is a nightmare....today she has to sbrigarsi un po' as she has music at 5.30 and I need to wash her hair and do the party invites....

So, Gio, no we haven't had the party yet, it's Tuesday 13th....we have a practice on Friday though as it's the pary of one of her nursery friends so we can see just how many of the new class turn up....experts who have already passed through elementare with older children say in the first year only about 5 turn up. (phew emoticon) Gio- luckily the price for the ludoteca includes the cake, dd has opted for a Nemo cake this year, being passionate about all-things-under-the-sea...

Noticed this morning that a few of the mums are bringing in pictures with beautiful "I love my maestra" words....(boak) (and also clearly written by the mother, not the child) Are we all supposed to do this to gain a voto piu alto I wonder????

Well done Camo's sister!

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 07/10/2009 09:34

Bucharest you MUST let us read your blog or try to have it published. I await your posts eagerly every morning and they never fail to entertain/amuse/shock etc.

Camomilla · 07/10/2009 10:03

morning all!

yes, managed to watch that link Sputnik, very interesting!

only times DS did a picture for his teachers was when he left nursery, preschool and when his first teacher left earlier in the year! (though when she left I saw parents bringing flowers etc), I certainly wouldn't waste the little time I have on making cards for the teachers during the year, I already nearly lost the will to live the other day getting DS to write a poem (with a 1/2 hr tantrum thrown in for good measure!)

any of you experienced "nursing strikes"?

Sputnik · 07/10/2009 10:25

Gio it's not the one you're thinking about, although he used to work there. It's the other lot, who are much better. If you click more info or something it tells you. He has also posted another video he made in Africa, and there's also DD asking questions to an astronaut, with our living room lookng like the site of a meteor strike in the background!
[proud wifey and mother emoticon]

Bucharest · 07/10/2009 10:32

Oh, so the Mr who made the vid is actually MrSputnik????

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 07/10/2009 10:37

Sputnik complimenti to Mr Sputnik for both videos, to your lovely dd for posing intelligent qs and for being so cute, and to you for the very realistic meteor striked house !

Sputnik · 07/10/2009 10:47

Buch, yes!
I wish DH had told me he was filming DD, I might have brushed her hair and at least turned the Ikea play tent the right way up !

Sputnik · 07/10/2009 10:51

BTW Camo, never had a nursing strike, my problem has always been getting them to stop. Did you look on kellymom.com? Lots of info there.

Camomilla · 07/10/2009 10:53

wow sputnik! very impressed by your DH. wow, Ikea even do space furniture very cute and clever DD!

Sputnik · 07/10/2009 10:55

She takes after her mum
