Gag at Silvio woman.
Ischia was lovely. I really enjoyed it, although before I didn't really want to go (lack of money mostly, and impossibility of really relaxing while chasing DS everywhere). DH, who insisted we go, came home saying it wasn't worth the money, he hadn't relaxed, food wasn't great etc. Although what he expected for 38 euros half board I don't know. So a bit about that really.

francagoestohollywood · 28/09/2009 22:35

No, not particularly rifatta. Just a proper stronza, iyswim... (picture the typical good looking girl at school who is also a bully)

Sputnik, glad you had a good time at the end . Oh why men are always complaining???

I should go to bed now, ciao!

Camomilla · 28/09/2009 22:38

Morning....

Guess what? I have nothing negative to say about parent-teacher meeting! Have I gone soft???? The teacher was very nice, very normal, very sensible, said she doesn't believe in shouting, she establishes rules and the children learn mutual respect, that we shouldn't be pushing them like loons with their compiti, every child will get there in their own good time, if we want to help with reading we should be doing it phonic-ly (I did see some of the grezze (loads of rolls of fat, tattoos, v tight t-shirts) looking a bit perplexed at that) etc etc....Funny as well, after looking me up and down for a week, they were all falling over themselves this morning to say hello...(I can see them thinking about the free lessons....in their dreams) One mother suggested we should all take amuchina gel to school and I resisted the urge to leap up and shout "amuchina- antibatterico, influenza- virale the clues in the title you half wit".

I love Ely and that part of the country too!

Did anyone see that horrendous woman Santanche on that domenica thingy? I started watching it, but my blood pressure was going through the roof and my foot wanted to go through the tv so I had to switch her off. I think I prefer Silvio to her.

Sputnik · 29/09/2009 08:48

Glad the meeting went well.
Hey expats, did you all know that as of april you don't need the permesso di soggiorno anymore?

Bucharest · 29/09/2009 09:04

They won't believe that here I'm afraid. They still won't accept I have a carta europea thingy and every year I get a summons from the town hall and I have to go and stand with the extra-comunitari while a horrid wannabee-nazi woman checks all our papers. (luckily I call my friend Franco who works in the town hall and he comes with me to hold my hand)

gio71 · 29/09/2009 09:15

meeting sounded good Bucharest, teacher sounds lovely and sensible (and much nicer than our one here). Can't believe you have fat tattooed types down there! I didn't think there were fat, tattooed Italians!
Really re permesso Sput? Thank the Lord!!! I was already dreading the renewal in 5 years time or whenever it was. Did you go to the awful hideous place near Rebibbia to get your last one done? Full of Nazi types there as well, revelling in their ignorance and competing to see who could be the rudest. I was 8 mths pregnant and it was August heat when we went to get mine and when DP asked if there was anything that could be done to speed up process for me as pregnant after an hour waiting on my (swollen) feet in the heat the Nazi reply was sono tutte incinte, looking at me as if to say-you straniere are all the same and breed like rabbits.

Sputnik · 29/09/2009 09:18

decreto legislativo 6 febbraio 2007, nr. 30

More info here

Funny, as I always managed to bullshit my way into getting my identity card by insisting this was the case since Maastrict treaty or whatever. I think I just wearied them into it. Now I have to get one in Rome I was all set to go the official route but find I don't have to, hooray!

Sputnik · 29/09/2009 09:22

Lol at tutte incinte.
Yes there are probably evil scheming furrener types putting cushions up their t-shirts just to take advantage of these employees good nature
Funny how they are happy to take our taxes, INPS etc though.

Bucharest · 29/09/2009 09:50

tutte incinte!
Did notice there seemed to be a lot incinte at the school yesterday....there seems to be this thing whereby you have n2 when n1 goes to asilo, and n3 when n2 goes to asilo and n1 to elementare....
The funniest was that dd's compagna di banco's mother, a little girl from her nursery who we didn't know at all, and whose mother I had down (primo impatto) as maybe a judge, lawyer, doctor etc - she was very perfect, all made up, beautiful clothes, fabulous hair, a bit fredda....turns out to be a badante! (dp convinced I didn't hear correctly)
The woman at our town hall threatened dp with the carabinieri last time (as he was threatening her with Striscia la Notizia- she kept saying I was an extra-c as Repubblica ceca wasn't in the EU- as she waved my UK passport around She said he was abusing her because she was a woman- which was funny as until she'd said that we'd assumed she was a man. Moustache, grey suit, cropped hair....

Bucharest · 29/09/2009 09:51

Sput- meant to say thanks for the link, maybe I'll print it out and carry it round with me....

Tattoo woman is apparently wife of local notorious crime family.....lovely.

francagoestohollywood · 29/09/2009 10:53

Masseuse here she is gag.

Bucharest, I'm happy to say that I missed that evil santanche woman. Seeing the pics of her demonstrating against women wearing a chador () was enough. And I lolled at her idea of what constitutes a demonstrating outfit. She was wearing new (horrible) Hogan trainers and a posh giacca militare

Glad the meeting went well Bucharest, the teacher sounds lovely indeed.

Penthe oh sweetie!! I'm sure it'll get easier .

francagoestohollywood · 29/09/2009 10:55

at tutte incinte. And why do you need permesso di soggiorno?
By the way, apparently in the sportelli of comune di milano pg women have the precedenza . Unbelievable!!!

Bucharest · 29/09/2009 11:07

The permesso is now a carta europea (or something) we have to have it, but can't be refused it like theoretically could happen with a permesso.....(I think mine might have expired....and I think I might be rebellious and not renew it......)

francagoestohollywood · 29/09/2009 11:07

Oi Mccloud, look at what I found www.apartmenttherapy.com/!

francagoestohollywood · 29/09/2009 11:08

blimey! (che paese! depressing. Though apparently you need something similar in Holland too)

Sputnik · 29/09/2009 11:44

I always wanted one of those hanging transparent ball chairs he's sitting in, what a fab house!

gio71 · 29/09/2009 11:49

at Buch attending parents meeting with local mafiosi!
Pippi yes will be around in Rome at Easter. What about you Sput? You know we really should have a rome meet up at some point now you are in the city!

francagoestohollywood · 29/09/2009 12:36

It's beautiful, isn't it.
Oh rome at easter...

Bucharest · 29/09/2009 12:41

Hmmmm, well daughter of boss apparently shut dd in the toilet today and told her she'd be taken away from her mummy.....(I'd rather venture if anyone ends up in a colegio it would be daughter of boss rather than my child......) dp not v happy about this at all....the maestra apparently made the kid sit on her own afterwards...(I'd already heard that this child is a monster...hardly surprising...)

Last year at asilo dd was also in the class of a child whose grandfather is doing ergastolo for pluri-omicidi.....

Lovely circles we move in.....

francagoestohollywood · 29/09/2009 12:43

Blimey buch!

Closing people in the toilet seems fashionable... last year a little girl in ds's class used to do it... until the teachers put things straight. Tis depressing.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 29/09/2009 12:56

Buch LOL and LOL at grezze, mums queueing to get free lessons, the crime stepfords, the circle of compagni di classe, the nazi impiegata, the badante fashionista !!!

Gio lol and at tutte incinta. How did it go today?

Penthe yes "meh" sums it up, although today is better as dd1 is happy to stay and had a lovely time with dd2.

will post the link later this aft.

Sputnik · 29/09/2009 12:57

No idea if we'll be here at easter, last one we were in the UK, but we might go in the summer next year instead. Yes we should do a meet up Gio, no idea how long it'll take me to get into the centre by public transport though, probably about time I found out! Ages since I've been in the centre actually.

Unless you fancy a trip to EUR.
